  • Welcome to PART 4 and level 4 of this amazing series!
As we inch higher into the upper workings of the Lost Treasure Mine, and deeper into the mountain, we arrive at some of the workings that originated from the mine's beginnings. Much of this level is part of a stope that is in some bad ground. There are slabs of limestone the size of full-sized sedans that were dislodged from the back of this underground void! An unexpected surprise- We eventually encounter daylight and arrive on the surface, on the other side of the mountain! We may have traveled several miles underground to end up where we did, and it was a much more comfortable situation hiking down a mountain rather than descending near-vertical ladder ways to get back to our staging point!
This four-part series catalogues miles of underground workings that connect with many adjacent mines in the area, along with endless historical graffiti, the most elaborately timbered hoist room, ore cars, drills, windlasses, and even miner's garments. We get to explore four of the many levels in this mine, all of them extensive! If you haven't seen parts 1 through 3, you're missing out. This abandoned mine is truly an amazing place!
Joining us once again on this adventure is @Zia Mountain Adventures. Together, we take our underground abandoned mine exploring experiences to another level. We have hiked several miles underground, documenting this historic place, each one of us with a different perspective. I hope you enjoy our videos, and I encourage you to check out and subscribe to ‪@ZiaMountainAdventures‬ channel as well!
Inside of this mountain holds many unexpected finds and surprises! We are doing an episode for every level that we visit, each with its own unique items of interest!
This abandoned mine exploring video is shot and presented in 4K and HDR. I recommend for your viewing experience to watch this video with a TV, monitor, or mobile device with a 4K/HDR compatible display. It really does make a difference!

Awesome ladder climb at the beginning! “Now we’re hiking on an underground mountain” was a great way to describe that part of the video. Those stopes at 12:05 were nuts! So was the bridge there, too. That was great you found another exit and all the flies. Going into a mine one way and coming out another is pretty rare, I think. I thought for a second that maybe those tires on that compressor system near the end of the video were wooden wagon wheels! They sort of looked like that. Another 👍 video!

Hey, Frank! Thank you! I gotta tell ya, this area is the most interesting I've experienced! The stopes were crazy here, but nowhere near the size of the stopes in the "Largest Abandoned Mine in New Mexico" series. They did have their own cool factor with the rail bridges and artifacts! I've never experienced hiking and ascending a mine to pop out a mile away from where we started. Yeah, at Hollow Mountain you can end up on other sides of the mountain at various locations, but the distance here was astounding! That connecting mine on the surface was quite the pleasant surprise! Those wheels did look like they belonged on a wagon or very old vehicle! I'm nowhere near finished with this area, it could take years to fully explore it!

Thank you very much! I take care with the lighting and editing as best as I can, I just need to work a little on camera movement. I tend to get overstimulated with everything and move quicker than I should at times. I appreciate the positive comment!

I am still wondering where the heck the light went to. But glad that my hard hat didn't go flying down a deeper pass. LOL! Another great edit and such an epic mine.

That's more the reason to get back- to find your light! lol. You scared the heck out of me with that mishap! Thank you! I can't wait to see your version of it!

Our paths crossed for about a hundred feet there! I got as far as the "underground mountain" from the other direction before turning around as I was alone and pressed for time. I remember that carbide can. There is in fact a usable portal in that direction, but it's about 60% caved which would certainly impact the airflow.

After reading your comment, I went to your channel to find the video. I do see the same places! We entered that level from that long incline. I noticed you mentioned Disney, and I mentioned Indiana Jones for the same section of track, lol! We gotta do a joint exploration on this one!

Hi Justin, that ladder you climbed was a monster lol, how many hours/days were you in that mine all together ???
At 9:10 was that sunlight I saw at the top of the stope ???. That compressor belongs in a museum, what a fantastic
find guys. Some awesome equipment they have just lying around getting rusty, such a shame.
That mine is absolutely mental for how large it is, thank you for sharing, much love. xx ❤

Hi, Sue! That ladder was the longest one we climbed inside this mine yet. It was in the 300 to 375-foot range, estimating from the map. We didn't encounter daylight (to my knowledge) until we made it past the steel door. I will go back and review the footage. This entire area should be a museum all in itself. There's just so many amazing things, including the sheer size of the underground workings! Thank you for taking the time out of your day, watching and commenting!
