I’m still Awestruck at some of the hard work , labor & time & money poured into equipment, timbering to shore up inner workings and just down & dirty hours & days & months & years & decades some miners worked underground for a living . Not for the faint of heart or those with little money to spend in hopes of striking it rich . More power to you guys , & I truly wish you the best of luck . I’ve traipsed all over that area , in and around Garlock , Johannesburg, Randsburg, the El Paso range ,etc . There’s sure an awful lot of holes there, and some made quite a few people rich back in the day . Be safe , & Hydrate in this heat . 👍
Maybe next time use heavy duty leather pouches as the Spaniards did a couple of hundred years ago, to winch ore out of mine shafts, The leather will slide along the shaft walls without catching on the shaft walls, and if did become caught, lowering the leather pouch some, then raising again would overcome the wall catching.
What is your average rate of recovery on your wash plant? I am working on a system for the super fine gold at both my hard rock claims not to far from randsberg but haven’t figured it all out yet.
Zero! I haven't figured it out yet as well. I have had better results with placer at GPAA claims on the top of the Cajon Pass and Placer Pete's--back side of Barstow. But now that I am the land owner of 5 hard rock gold mines I am committed to micro fine gold, -100 mesh and smaller. I smelted for the first time a few weeks ago and made a mess.
@ copy that. I am looking at the rp4 shaker table to run the fine crush. I hear that works good. I have been just bring it home and running it through my gold fox trommel with gold hog mats and getting ok results with recovery but want to be able to run it at the claim. I would have to take around 600gal of water just to run 2 yards with the gold fox so looking at other avenues
rp4 shaker looks like a good piece of equipment. Had I seen that before I would had probable bolted that down on my trailer instead of building my own. I was about to buy Jason's Mt. Baker Mining shaker but it was and is to heavy to haul around. I got to haul everything in and haul out on my trips. As far as water I carry 3 water bladders and recirculate my water based on Allan's Gold Mining setup. His videos got me going on my setup. And I fill up with water when I get to Randsburg at the Randsburg water district for .05 cents a gallon (24/7 water house out front). The problem I have is when I see a piece of equipment I need I always think its over priced so I build it myself and spent 10 times more in labor and materials. I try never to bring my ore home--because it just sits.
They’re pretty green I don’t think they found any. It’s fairly easy out there to get color out of hard rock. Most important thing don’t forget your dirtbike
