same, every time they see millet they back up and go to the other side of the cage
for me it’s been a month and my bugies still don’t trust my hand going into their cage (when i want to change their water/food) :((
the fact that you have 2 just add's to the challenge because their going to engage with each other rather than you. training one is easier
Omg this is awesome. Thank you! We've had our budgies for 3 weeks now and they aren't super excited about millet. We've gotten them to eat it a few times, but like your baby they won't even eat it when we leave a little piece in their cage and most of the time they just stare at it when we hold it in front of them. I cant wait to begin this tomorrow.

Omg I have been trying to get my new budgie to eat millet for the last two weeks... I found this video today and decided to try this same approach and it actually worked! I just kept trying throughout the day for about 10 minutes and by the 4th or 5th time he ate it while I held the millet! Thanks so much for this video.. I'm so happy now

wow, tysm this actually worked! I've taught my budgie(s) how to step up and eat the millet. At first, I was hesitant about taking away the food bowl but that didn't harm my birds whatsoever, they loved the millet after 1 hour of getting them used to it, thank you!! You have earned a new subbie. :)))

I’m so lucky that my baby budgie is OBSESSED with millet and so was so easy to train, because he would basically do anything for millet, it’s almost scary
Have you thought about sprinkling little bits of millet (not on the spray, but loose) sprinkled on top of their food? Also it helps to have a 2nd bird who is already into millet. They learn from each other. Birds are flock animals and they shouldn’t be alone anyway.

Thanks alot my first try she took her first bite and started eating off my hand 😊 then I made a mistake and scared my bird and now I'm starting over again, you really have to be careful losing a bird trust is so easy ☹️

I'm thinking Davey is a girl. From what I understand white around nostrils on cere means a girl, my budgie has the same but its still up in the air as to whether this is a good indicator. I named my baby Jolene hopefully she is a girl Ha!
Roudybush crumbles, they say is a good well rounded pellet but im have a hard time geting Jolene to eat it too. They say they will starve themselves if they don't like it so I grind it and mixed it with her seed and will gradually decrease seeds. Fingers crossed she starts to like it because from tons of research as you mentioned im learning that pellets are healthier for them than seeds or millet is and should be treated more as treats. And vegetable or chop I struggle with her too. They are like little children who only love snacks and won't eat what's Healthy for them.
I found that Davy. Started eating veggies when I started only feeding him at certain times and when he became more tame he trusts me so now anything I give him he eats I have s good chop recipe I'll share soon.
I agree, I am 95% certain that Davy should be Davina because of the cere. Very cute, though.

I came here to help with taming and getting my parakeet used to me and literally right after i seen what you did i went to try it on mine & i caught her eating it on her own in her cage 😂

Thank you so much! I’ve had such a hard time trying to get my budgies to eat millet and this tutorial helped so much. I took the food bowl out and reached my hand in the cage with the millet 25 mins later and they were eating out of my hand! My budgies trust me now! Thank you❤❤❤❤❤

It’s not something scientific! I have watched a lot of videos about birds diet. What I learned is they will eventually try everything with time. Just gotta be patient with providing different stuff regularly. And these videos are just time wasters.

Hey can you tell me how can I make my three weeks baby sparrow to eat millet? So i got this baby sparrow like two weeks before (I think she was just few hrs old) I was hand feeding her and now she is starting to fly little by little...so I thought to introduce millets to her. She do like it but instead of eating it she is playing with it🙃!! I mean she is taking the millet in her mouth but after chewing it for sometimes she throws it away accidentally..and now she seems it like a game and having fun throwing it. She don't know how to swallow the millet. Can you please tell me wat to do? And also is it good to give blood worms to birds?
You have to be slow with the hands,earn his trust.mine loves millet,cucumbers, 🥦..ive trained a wild rabbit to hand feed.hed run to me soon as he seen me..miss him this year

Both my budgies don’t like millet they may take bites but they see it as a snack not junk food so instead I use their seed diet( Don’t worry I’ll change the food diet) and it’ll take a while but they get near or grab my hand with one foot and eat thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you for sharing this technique p.s, where did you get the cage from?

Big tip on editing! Pay very close attention to when/where you split/cut your clips. I noticed that some cuts would interrupt your sentences.

I’m scared to let my budgie out because what if he crashes or something because I don’t really have things for her to land on and what if it loses trust in my what do I do?
Is he clipped or is he flighted? Just leave the cage door open and leave it up to your bird. Shut the windows with curtains or blinds.
Hello I just got 2 scared male budgies 5 days ago and I was wondering if this would work with 2 budgies?

Actually, that's a female bird. Mine looks exactly like yours and I'm a bird breeder and I breed parakeets and the top part of her beak is blue and male's are purple!

My budgie is scared of the millet, what do i do??
I've had my exhibition budgies for 4 weeks. They were purchased from different breeders and were 3-4 months old, raised in outdoor averies.
so they're both still living separately in cages in different rooms in my house.
Mr Wilson loves millet and was very easy to tame using it, however my other budgie Bronson didn't take millet from me at all at first. So I did what budgies do and gently pestered him. Leaving my finger in front of him and slowly moving it towards him and any time he even put one foot on me I'd tell him in a very excited way how much of a good boy he is. They're both so different but in understanding their characters I've got them both to a point where they want to be with me 100% of the time.
Next on the list is introducing them both but I'm not rushing it.

I'm in same situation so I called the people who I bought my lovebird from and they said that your Bird will probably like Millet but because it's so young it doesn't know what it likes so I think this is a good way of taming your Bird : side note if you want to know my birds age he's nine weeks old
