I do have an idea that the Mokka will probably be no stranger to garden centres, and probably has a tin of travel sweets in the glovebox. James really must be firm with this man now.

Hi James you so right about components failing at any time , I have 2015 VW t5.1 transporter bought new , at 14,000 it had the air con pump replaced , 14,600 the alternator , 16,000 a duelmass flywheel, glad to say all under warranty,
He may also run out of fuel and also can’t afford the road tax. 😎🤣 James your too nice and easy all these extras I’d have bought if back and he can do one 😀💪
A very clever person that I know (me) with many years motor trade experience once said (and a few times since) if we treated the public like they treat us we would be in jail.
James he wants you to put new engine gearbox and replace every component on the car with a new one supply a lifetime warranty and wrap the car in bubble wrap haha
Chops I have watched you on and off for a few years. If I was to buy a car from a dealer local I would try and get something knocked off as I would know it will be a nightmare getting the dealer to pay for anything if something was wrong in the first month and chances are I would fix it myself. With you I would pay what you are asking as I would trust you 100% to be MORE than fair. Take care and good luck.
I keep a full digital record of all history/ documentation etc on every vehicle so can refer back. Also do 3 month/3000 miles warranty on vehicles up to 5 years& 1 month /1000 miles over 5 years.
As I said in the comments a few days ago James. Trade to trade on the sub 5k cars. One side of your units as a workshop and a handfull of higher priced cars in your other unit which could be made into a nice showroom. With your level of after care, you need more margins to give the service that you give. All the best, Tony.
James, you go above and beyond! I’d have no hesitation in buying a car from you (I’ve already wore one!) but I would be much more realistic about what is my responsibility after that! Mr Mokka Man sounds like one of life’s eternal worriers/overthinkers! Just enjoy the car!
James, dealing with the public is always a pain. The old saying, this job would be great if it wasn't for the customers. Obviously, someone had his great great grandfather as a customer and that's where the saying comes from. All the best. Keep cool and keep on going. All the best. Mark
I did work for two dealers that left the motor trade because of come-back customers like him. They both emigrated to Wales, no idea where they are now.!
Might be an idea to photocopy paperwork so then you can check what work has been done love watching your videos if I lived nearer I would buy a car from you
Wow, cambelt job of the century for that price that is, wow. My S3 was somewhat different back in 2016 😆 He'll be back cus he's had to use the brakes and the ashtray is full!
Hi James , sadly he will keep asking and taking money off you for his perceived issues for as long as you keep agreeing to his demands. Sorry if that seems rude but it is the brutal truth, I was a small business owner so I feel your pain!
@ChopsGarage I had a y reg astra with 1.7d. Turbo went and engine ran pm it's oil. Revving it's nuts off. I thought that engine was gone. Mechanic put a new turbo on it. Right as rain.
James, I think you have the right attitude toward all customers whether they are Mr Awkward or Mr No Probs. These days you have got to be as consumer legislation has reduced car dealers ability to deflect what may have been considered unreasonable demands in the past. On a positive note however, this video has enabled you to demonstrate that should a customer buy a car from you, and it has a genuine fault, you will go out of your way to fix it. The offers to do upgrading maintenance, such as a cam belt at trade, are a massive reassurance to buyers and will definitely enhance your reputation. Videos like this will attract buyers who are simply too worried about going into what is still perceived as a snake pit of 'back street car dealers' . You are setting yourself up as a trusted car dealer, which is extremely hard to achieve and easily lost trying to deal with a 'wrong un'. With this reputation you can afford to go up market a little and sell for full price which people, who know how you work, will pay. If you have got a potential customer who is not happy to pay for the extra reassurance you offer, you will have to politely, but firmly, decline their business.
I had a mk5 Astra 1.7 diesel years ago the thing used to eat alternators had 3 on it in 5 years then the mother in law got one and that was the same 😂 look forward to your Christmas card off him
Wow what a bargain for a cambelt he’s done alright out of you James. Hope this is the last now you have been more than fair. When the cambelt snapped on my sisters Saxo in 2013 she only had it a month the dealer in all fairness collected the car he said as part of the terms we don’t cover cambelts under the 1 month warranty but he said he would pay £200 of the £340 bill for a head rebuild due to the fact who he bought the car off which was bought from another dealer who ever they had to fit the belt didn’t do it properly. Funny enough when she had it she felt it was sluggish compare to her previous 1.1 Saxo but she put it down to maybe being 5 years since driving the previous one maybe she was imagining it but obviously she wasn’t. Just lucky it snapped when starting going up hill around 30mph.

I totally get you, Chops Garage. My friend bought an old Toyota for a few hundred pounds. Every time he heard a noise, rattle, or noticed a minor issue like a worn wiper, he'd go straight back to the dealer. This car had covered about 150,000 miles! After numerous visits over several months, the dealer eventually bought the car back for £50 more than the original price, despite fixing some wear and tear free of charge. The dealer even started hiding in the workshop and ignoring phone calls! Life’s too short for that.🙄

Sadly Alice is not at the bottom of all Rabbit holes 😬 i feel your pain and i am dealing with someone very similar at the moment, he just won't go away but Mr Rude will be coming out to play shortly 😡
James you now have a friend for life. He will be ringing you on Christmas morning because he has a flat tyre or a blown side light bulb.
So his alternator had gone, you wouldn't have rung up? Of course you would 🤦
@stepheng8779 Wouldn't have rang about 6 times and left messages.

Are you listening James?
It's minimum 6 months

It’s good to know that there are still some honest dealers like yourself out there.
He returns a brand new car then replaces it with a 10 year old car with over 100000 miles,🤥yeh right.
