I do not have enough experience with other brands but do have several Traxxas Slash, Stampede and new Rustler, so I can not say they are best in the world but to me they are excellent. My grandson is 5 we keep them in training mode and just beat the snot out of them. Yes I have broken a few parts but nothing expensive and replacing them with RPM breaking is almost a thing of the past.

I took my slash 2wd to a skatepark near the college campus I attend and broke 3 parts on it. A-arm, the kingpin for it (which still used e-clips), and my servo saver. I had never broken the servo saver in all of the crashes it's been through.
R/C Insanity well they are strong and for most peaple price range thay great because not every one has 1100 to spend on a toy but if you do thats ok. my 2wd drive is stock other then front arm changed them caused i could also the slash is not a stunt truck it’s not made for jumps like the xxmax
Im suprised the slash breaks all the time with how light it is. BTW the ARRMA Senton 6s is the king of short courses :) give it a try kev ita beastly, cheers
Kevin Talbot Slash on 3s is like a 100mph go cart. Senton on 6s is like a 100mph 1/8 mile dragster/ offroad racer. The weight of the Senton really helps it in rough terrain where as the slash is all over the place. The Senton also turns nicely and doesn't roll every two seconds.
I'll be honest. I had 6 Slash's, 2 were stock 2wd & 4x4 my oldest played with b4 going 1/8. He learn to drive with them. The other 4 were 100mph+ 2wd & 4x4, as well as 2 bashers that were beat to hell & killed my wallet through parts. I dumped all that in the tub when the V2 Senton 6s came. The red fireball ESC was gone, the body was thick as most Prolines, & the system in it made in the most powerful 1/10 SCT. To drive it is to know *NOTHING* can beat it. I still have a Slash 4x4 somewhere, maybe in pieces, but I haven't touched it since I bought the Senton.
Steve's buggy got up there, great bashing, I want to get an X-max myself, but want to try other types first, before I get another MT, it's a beast for sure.

ahhhhh. Arrma has all 1:8 trucks that can take it, Kev. And check the 1/10 scale $299 blx models now... New bearings at the most for any upgrade fresh but very ready out of the box. The XMAXX is certainly in a "league of it's own" but a great designer is one that can have every truck take the big hits and drive nice and wrench like a user friendly machine should. . I love my Slash vxl 2wd and ER-2.0. Both sexy trucks but heavily modded out of necessity. Get on Arrma dude. It's ok to love em all. They're what they call an entire new animal.... The Arrma, I mean. No hate, guys. Ahead of time here, please. No brand hating at all. But if I'm gonna put some new guys on rc, and I wanna have as bright and as many as I can -friends into the fun, I'm gonna say Arrma for the modular positives all day long. I know you can see the difference. Work on anything and work on Arrma and easy to see the difference.
Why do traxxas put crappy small rear inner bearings on the rear hubs? Brand new on the second run mine seized. After a strip down I noticed and replaced them with the rpm rear hubs and never had an issue since. Traxxas need to fit them from factory.
Imad Morsli I’m sure arrma would be stronger then the Xmaxx if they made a 1/6 scale and the chassis would probably have to be plastic instead of aluminum.
@@whatswiththissassylostchilld Not really, the only point in plastic is cost. The Aluminum just cant be flat, thats all. TRAXXASS fans will always say plastic is stronger because they know no better and justify the high price they pay for 90% plastic RC cars.
The Traxxas Slash is pretty strong to I took it to the skatepark and was bashing it around and the only thing that happened to it was the shocks popped off

Ok car test like my UDR real car drive over only the two front wheel aria ( bonet)\front window aria! .. if only u had an old one of each and done car test!:) Arial flying big ball basher style UDR,0.1/xmax9.98/10lol,arma 9.98/7! ....Clean jumps / toughness and how flexible the plastic is! I see a Xmas hit a wall at full speed in slow motion too ! It's got some mad flex!! ( Damage ! Pinion broke or came away from spur!!

Those steel driveshafts on the slash are a huge upgrade to the stock plastic shafts.
Compare the arrma senton to the traxxas slash. And the traxxas stampede to the arrma granite 4x4.

8S X-maxx is world class and ground breaking, Traxxas slash now looking it's age (Decade old now).
Driftomaniacs agreed, got a Maxx of my own, used to have a slash 4x4, had to do quite a few updates to make it as good as an x maxx.
i still say a slash is a good first and strong ass hell

Rugger 878 slash is great, I just feel that th X-Maxx is stronger in its box stock form, compared to the slash in stock form.

Fem Latra what you mean by aluminum can’t be flat? And I just feel like something for being 1/6 scale and weighs quite a bit will bend it over time.
Twilight _Kid IS it better to snap the chassis right in half? on my outcast i use metal braces and a homemade tower to tower brace
KrispyRC depends on how you design the chassis. Braces would work but I not sure how it would hold up when the 1/6 scale rc weighs 20 plus.
