I'm only on #13, and would need to take notes to remember all of the errors I've heard so far. Fortunately, it's not my problem. I'd suggest hitting the mute button and enjoying the images, if you're going to bother with this video.
Frigg was the wife of Odin but friday (in swedish fredag isn't 28:37 named after her. Most probably it's named after Freya or her twinbrother Freyr. Those siblings were both deities of fertility, that much is right. Ullr by the way also have a female counterpart in Skadi a godess (dis/asynja) of hunting and skiing.
Freja and Frigg are two different goddesses and only Frigg was Odin’s wife. Balder was the son of Odin and Frigg. Tuesday was named after the war god Tyr, Thursday after Tor. This is common knowledge in the Scandinavian countries, even today. Please research a little better next time.
I'm from Norway. I've seen every viking ship ever found in Scandinavia. I've also seen viking graves and viking treasures. Do I have a particular interest in vikings? No. But I've seen every viking ship that has been found in Scandinavia
Most of the facts are wrong.... Freyja and Frigg are not the same person and Freyja is not Odin's wife, Frigg is his wife. 2 totally different goddesses.
@@Chester_Kitten not 100% true, horned helmets seem to have been used for ceremonies by Vikings, there have been found a wall rug from the Viking age in Norway depicting a horned helmet, and other items at least 2 have also been found depicting horned helmet, the horned helmets actually found is however from the bronze age, we have some of those in the National museum in Denmark, it is however the same culture/people, longhouses in Scandinavia also predates the Viking age, right now they are digging up 2500 years old longhouses in Denmark found when they were building a highway
pretty cool of the inspiration of Bluetooth to Viking items; the Berzerker portion reminded me of the movie 13th warrior; also cool that the fronts of the ships were carved to make it look like the boards merged into one; I believe the Vikings quite possibly came from the family lines of Phoenicians (Japheth's line); that's the 1st I've heard of Viking metal although my wife & I like the Immigrant song in Ragnarok; my family has some Dutch origins (as well as other European ethnic groups/nationalities)
another movie inspired by Viking exploration was Pathfinder w/ Karl Urban, Moon Bloodgood & the guy who played the Kurgan in Highlander; it proposes that Vikings raided Native Americans in N. America
Whilst not disputing the inaccuracies (I'm an Aussie with, so far as I know, no Viking ancestry and even I picked up some) it was, to me at least, a grand tale grandly told! :)
The video contains a few scientific facts, Theo are then built on with a lot of guesswork and knowledge that he acquired from Hollywood movies about Vikings. He was wrong by at least 100 to 200 years about when viking age people in Scandinavia started building longships. The keel and their pronounced stem and stern was the most distinctive part of longships. They were also clinker-built. All ships from Scandinavia during the so-called Viking Age were built with cleaved planks, it was not unique to longships. Another Hollywood fact that needs to be corrected. Mead was very expensive. The vast majority of people in Scandinavia at that time never drank mead. Those who had the financial means to drink mead only did so on very special occasions.

When will these English/Americans ever say Leif *Eirikson* - son of Eirik Raude?
Generally fun when the Americans try to explain medival europe.....
@@Bela-pv9pg Yeah, most of us are idiots, but there are a few who can at least spell "medieval".
This is poor research. Nice pics though.
Vikings built longhouses. Iroquoia indians built long houses. Vikings...first European to come to North America.
Hmm.🤔
