    The sad thing about this whole trial was the attention being taken away from the two victims to turn it into a trial of the LAPD and racism. Poor Ron and Nicole never got the justice they deserved.

    Some minor trivia for anyone interested..in a newspaper article from this day in 1995 the writer mentioned that for a brief moment Denise an Oj made eye contact while she was on the stand, she glared at him and he looked away at started jotting something down on his notepad. Wish we could see that but alas the camera is focused on Denise. Also when Denise got down from the stand she collapsed sobbing on a nearby chair and while the jury had previously just looked at her with no expression they now looked concerned and sympathetic. Marcia Clark even comforted Denise by putting her arms around her. Cochran was not happy and told reporters that he knew the prosecution would end the week in this manner and that he believed it was deliberate on their part. Personally I feel Cochran has no room to complain when he himself changed OJ's house decor to fool the jury when the jury went on a trip to visit and tour Simpson's house. Cochran and his team took down all the photos Oj had with white people and replaced it with photos of blacks and even added some African decor such as paintings and statues from Africa some of which belonged to Cochran himself. Anything to make Oj more relatable to the mostly black jury. This is no secret its well known and I often wonder how the jury felt if and when they found out about Cochran duping them by changing Oj's house and other things that they were not allowed to hear in the courtroom. Then again that jury wasn't going to convict him anyway as one of the former members of the jury who is a black woman recently admitted that they voted not guilty as payback for the Rodney king verdict 2 years prior. While I agree that verdict was indeed a joke and a disgrace that doesn't excuse this jury using this case as payback. Fighting racism with racism is like fighting fire with fire..nothing is accomplished.

      @csea4672 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@emilyb3902 have you read the book? It's pretty obvious to me that he was making admissions, including correcting what short cut he used to get to her house. The only things that were clearly false was the constant reiterating that the situation is "hypothetical" as well as him having a friend with him. Even in the tapes you can see how he continues to use first person along with physical events he described as if he were there. Plus, what typical person would go around writing such vicious events about the mother of his children and was acquitted of guilt? Not only is it in poor taste to the victims, but an extreme bad look for him. He has completely defamed his ex wife and victim without a single care about his children.. HER children. All they have is their memories and even that gets tarnished.
      What evidence exactly was not collected properly? How would mixes of all three bloods get in his car, home, clothing? How would his blood mix with theirs at the crime scene? He had the EXACT shoes that left bloody imprints. He had those exact model gloves. He was seen by the limo driver running in his home after Kato already heard him running back there. He was glaring at her at the recital. He was EXTREMELY jealous, controlling, and abusive. Abusive even with the children in the home to where she stated her premonition and biggest fear to the dispatcher "plz hurry the kids are upstairs and I don't want anything to happen" as he's breaking into her house AGAIN screaming. He broke her back fence which is how he went in that night to kill her. Seen outside her house gawking in the dark like a creep and then drives off in the past. She finally left him and said no on getting back together. He was arrested for beating her up. Lol honestly.... this is the exact definition of without REASONABLE doubt. Domestic violence escalates. Ppl failed nicole all along the way, and Ron being the good samaritan also never got justice.

      @ellendunsmore4682 7 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      DEB SLOCK What would you have done in that situation? Her sister was married to this wife beater, Nicole was the one being abused, and Nicole didn't leave him until 2 years before she was murdered. And even then, after she left him and their divorce was final, Nicole once again tried "dating" him again for a year. So Denise and the rest of the family were in a really awkward situation I'd imagine. You call her and the rest of Nicole's family a piece of work, but as long as Nicole ignored his constant abuse, his multiple affairs, his verbal insults, I'm sure her family members felt like they had to put up with him too.
      And all finger-pointing, judgements, and criticisms aside, because none of us were there and know what that family dynamic was like, Nicole was brutally murdered, and most of the mountains of physical evidence point to O.J. Simpson being the murderer, and if you don't believe that O.J. was the murderer, you cannot possibly deny that O.J., at the very least, was physically there at the crime scene and knows who the murderer is and has not disclosed this to anyone. So it doesn't really matter how much money the Brown family took from O.J. over the life of Nicole and O.J.'s relationship, this does not mean that Denise or any other members of Nicole's family does not have the right to hate him for how he treated their sister and daughter. Money is not nearly as important as a person's life or their well being while alive. And don't you dare forget or conveniently ignore the well-known and very public fact that O.J. used his money to control people, not just Nicole or her family but everyone! The Brown family did not ask O.J. for money, they didn't have to. O.J. bought Lou Brown a car dealership without telling him, it was a surprise. This is a well-known fact that you can verify. Why did O.J. do this? He did it for the same reasons he always threw money at people: to impress people and show off, and to gain control over people. After he would offer people money or just give it to them or buy people things without them knowing, then he held it over their heads forever. Case in point, during one of the 9 times police had to go to Rockingham because Nicole called 911 during one of O.J.'s beatings, he had taken a metal baseball bat to Nicole's Mercedes, completely smashing the windshield, the hood, the front fenders, and then attempted to go after her with the bat as she ran away and hid in the bushes until the police arrived and she suddenly ran out of the bushes to open the gate and let the police car in, wearing only a bra and sweatpants. In front of the police officer Nicole asked O.J. if he was going to pay to fix her car since he had destroyed it with a bat, and O.J.'s response was "Of course I'll pay for it, it's not your car, it's my car, I bought it, just like I buy everything around here! You don't own a damn thing because you don't work, you don't have any money, I pay for everything!" At the same time he was always making statements like this, not only to Nicole but to her friends and family, his friends and family, basically everyone he forced to take money and/or gifts from him and then held it over their heads forever, he wouldn't ALLOW NICOLE to work! Nicole was 17 when they met, and literally the day after their very first date (where he was forceful and physically abusive for the first time), O.J. leased an apartment in West Hollywood for Nicole and bought her a car without telling her about either. He told her she had to quit her job as a waitress at the Daisy, she no longer needed to work. And he did this for no other reason than he wanted to have complete control over her. He had to know where she was, who she was with, and what she was doing at all times, and he was able to do this with money. Then as he was smashing the car he bought her without her knowledge he would verbally berate her about how she had no money, how she didn't have a job, and how she didn't own anything because he paid for everything she had. If that isn't a sociopath then I don't know who would be. And as I said it wasn't just Nicole he controlled with money, it was everyone in his life. His friends have talked about going to his house to play poker and having to arrange for someone to call his house at a certain time, saying that there was an emergency or some other reason that they had to leave. If they didn't do this then they would end up being at O.J.'s house until all hours of the night, until O.J. ALLOWED THEM TO LEAVE! He would literally throw a fit and go absolutely insane if they tried to leave before he wanted them to. He would say things like "Is it asking too much that you stay and play cards with me until I'm ready to stop? I bought all this food and beer for you, I lent you money because you said you didn't have the money to bet with, hell, I paid for you to play golf with me last week and you wanted to leave after 9 holes then too! I give you all of this and you're nothing but ungrateful!" So he used his money as a mind fuck over his wife, her family, his kids, his family, his friends, his colleagues, just everyone. So if I were you I'd not be calling Denise Brown, nor anyone else in Nicole's family a "piece of work", simply because Denise testified during the trial to how abusive O.J. was to Nicole, herself, and others in their family, yet she and her family took money and gifts from O.J. over the years. I don't know that they initially had much of a choice but to accept his money and gifts, and with Nicole deciding over and over again to stay with her abuser (obviously not uncommon at all), and with the couple's two young children involved as well, who the Brown family loved very, very much and who I'm sure the Browns feared would be kept away from them by O.J., I would hope you would be sympathetic to the Brown's awkward situation.
      And you know what, after everything I just said, which is 100% true and verified as such, and after all of O.J. Simpson's actions and words since the murders 24 years ago, I can't believe that ANYONE would have the nerve to be publicly be critical of Denise Brown for testifying against her former brother-in-law during her sister's murder trial. Seriously? Are you actually saying that if your sister was brutally murdered along with a friend of hers, almost decapitated in fact, right outside the door to the house where your very young niece and nephew were sleeping and left to possibly wake up, walk downstairs, and find their mother almost decapitated with her entire blood volume spilled out onto the sidewalk she was laying on, that you would refuse to testify against your brother-in-law who was on trial for the double murder because his DNA was all over the crime scene along with his finger print, footprints, his hair, an expensive, rare Brooks Brothers glove that your sister bought for him, etc., simply because over the 17 years your sister was with him he gave your family money and bought your father a business of his own? Really, that would keep you from testifying against him?
      I can just see how that would have gone over, if Denise had been asked by the prosecution to testify against O.J. and she had said "No, I'm sorry but I can't testify against O.J. I know he killed my sister and Ron Goldman, and I want him to pay for what he's done, but he has given my family money over the years, he bought my father a car dealership of his own, so I just can't testify against him after he has done so much for my family."..........Yeah, she wouldn't have been criticized for that at all.
      And just for the record, O.J. Simpson never gave Denise Brown any large sum of money or bought her any large or expensive items at all, nothing beyond normal birthday, Christmas, and other holiday gifts that all families buy for each other. Nicole and Denise's parents were the ones that O.J. insisted on supporting financially. This has been confirmed by O.J. several times, including on live television. Not that it makes any difference who that sociopathic murderer gave money to at all, but since you chose to specifically attack Denise Brown you should make sure you have your facts correct, which you did not.
      There but for the grace of God go you....stop being so damn judgmental of other people when you have no idea what their lives have been like, what they've been through, and what really went on between them.

      Ellen Dunsmore This is old, but I’ll respond anyhow. You started the comment by stating that others here do not know what the family situation was like, then proceed to state how you believe the situation to be.
      You can have a differing opinion than someone else, but you shouldn’t just assume it’s because you know more than them.
      It’s also possible that someone believe OJ innocent. Though it’s probably unlikely he was framed, it’s not impossible.
      I’ll make one assumption that I believe is common sense.
      If you believe that a man abused your family member and friend, and then you also believe he killed her, you’re likely to exaggerate the pre-mentioned abuse.
