The only person who acknowledge Kobe’s parents and sisters during Kobe Bryant Memorial at Staples Center was Shaq. I felt bad for his parents and sisters not to be mentioned when other people spoke. Yes, Kobe was not in speaking terms with his parents before he died but I felt soo bad for his parents that were barely mentioned. Props to Shaq for mentioning them and even feast pumped Sisters’s children before walking to the podium.

Yes that was heartbreaking that his parents were not mentioned at the funeral. Regardless whether they were on speaking terms or not they’re his parents and they should have been acknowledged. Kobe passed away not on good terms with his parents . I know that hurt his parents. Prayers are up for Mr. Joe’s wife Pam and his daughters and grandkids. 💐💐🙏🏽🙏🏽

His Mom Jane was the best working person at our restaurant and I remember as a kid she got me an autograph of Jelly Bean when he played with the 76ers. I was 11 years old I think. I remember seeing Kobe when he was a baby before they moved to Italy. RIP
People don't realize that you can grieve yourself to death. My Great-Grandmother, back in 2004, passed away exactly 1 month to the day after my Grandmother, her Daughter, passed away. Even though my Great-Grandmother was 90 years old, she was healthy. She walked every morning, she ate the right things, the whole nine yards. But when my Grandmother passed away, for her it was the end of her world. That can happen. Grief is nothing to be looked over. Trust me.
My cardiologist told me that if I did not deal with my grief in a more healthy way, I would not be here much longer. Grief can kill you!

Yes Stephen A you are right Kobe’s dad died of a broken heart and Vanessa is not to blame but she bears some responsibility in the estrangement of their relationship . A woman who does not hold a man accountable for not paying attention to his parents who put so much into him so he could become who he was is culpable. Vanessa can still make this right and help his family. I was so surprised to see that she gave away the $16 million she received for the accident but not $1 for his family!!
