    Thanks for the video. I just did it and ran the cable inside the car, thru the door sills where all the other cables are. No need to unscrew anything, it's all clips. There's a nice grommet thru the firewall with nothing in it, just where the clutch pedal would be on a manual car.

      Good deal, it sounds like your install went well!

    This may be a stupid question but to make it a bit easier since I don’t have a car lift could I just put a battery maybe like a small motorcycle battery instead of feeding the wire all the to the engine bay battery

      It's not a stupid question at all! I guess that's possible, but you'd need to figure out a way to keep that battery charged. You'd honestly be better off borrowing some ramps from a friend or neighbor and installing it as recommended.

    Hi! I followed all the instructions from your video, my car lights work, but the trailer lights are not working. Any suggestions?

      The most simple way to start troubleshooting is to try your vehicle with a different trailer, or your trailer with a different vehicle. This will help you determine if the vehicle or the trailer is the cause of the problem you've got going on. The first thing I'd check is the point where the trailer connector grounds to the tow vehicle. Make sure that connection is securely made to clean, bare metal. Here's a link to a troubleshooting article that we hope you'll find helpful:

    Looks like quite a bit of work, but I’m not a fan of the hole drilling...is there any alternative?

      You can route the wire on the inside of the vehicle up to the battery. It will just take a bit longer. You can also look around the trunk area, closer to the seats, to see if there is a grommet that you can use to get to the outside.

    What fuse is that? I hooked up to it but now have multiple warning lights on.

    • @etrailer

      The fuse in this kit is a 15 amp fuse. We have not heard of this happening before with this kit. You can try disconnecting the wiring harness to see if that fixes the issue or you can take your vehicle to a local shop and have them read the codes to see where they are coming from.

    And if your turn signals are not working, check your white cable (ground)

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's good advice. Make sure that ground connection is tightly made to clean, bare metal.

    Take the time and run the power wire through the inside of the vehicle. Almost no chance of it ever getting damaged and shorting out.

      Did you get any error codes. I am getting some . I had directly hooked up to the battery how about yourself?

      What codes did you get and how did you repair it?
      I’m looking at adding this kit.

    why not buy the 13 wire Kit designed for the car, the Tiguan are now rewired , it's pretty much plug and play

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan does not have a wiring option for factory wiring. The following link shows the options we have.

    you ran a power wire near the exhaust and under trim WITHOUT loom or insulation... WTF man?

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The frame is far enough away from the exhaust that you will not have an issue.

    This is not a DIY job.

    • @etrailer
      @etrailer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This job can be accomplished with a bit of time and a few tools. We have many people that have installed this wiring at home, in their garage. You can also have a shop near you install it if you do not want to take on the mission.
