    Thats a really cool layout 😊 The storage sheds remind me of what were my old secondary schools gym stores. They were originally WW2 air raid shelters but looked exactly like those models and probably built to the same design.

    I emailed your roofing material idea to a Jimmy@ the DIY&Digital RR. Pre-made ballast was posed as a question by a viewer. Still watchin

    3D effect of raised sections adds so much dimension and the buildings are well used for barracks....nice to see this develop...

    Nice landscape. And very clever idea to have model hedges on a shoestring ! The overall setting had taken shape, and it is a pleasant landscape.
    Mixing your layout with miniature airplanes hooks me, I also started with model airplanes, 1/72nd scale, as a teen in the 1980s... That is also why one of my projects in an aluminium foundry : you can put airplane parts as a cargo (typically engine blocks, or some structural parts with shapes you can't get from profiles or flat sheets), or put plane wrecks as a resource to recycle, especially if your layout is set in WW2. But a local GA airport/heliport is something you can model easily.

    A scale runway is the size of a proper village. A helicopter pad is just a small lot with the letter haitch on it. So rotary wing craft would fit in the shed, with everything they need to fly.

    you can do military markings with it still being private owned or even a museums with have a air show at the airfield

      Completely agree. The Battle of Britain memorial flight isn’t repainted so it’s entirely possible in your world that this is a more extensive collection and better funded and therefore has more of a fleet to show off. One of your first videos stressed that the point was to build the layout you wanted since 99% of the time it was you running it. It you want Gloucesters or Lightning’s or beaufighters on your layout then that’s what right. Please don’t start falling into the convention of ‘it must look right or mirror real life’. The layout and ideas are all as usual fab!

    I had fish for dinner last night, so your "battered" hedges really tickled me. Your thoughtful placement of trees in your layout really adds to the realism. I have never seen an airplane hanger in a layout, but I think it's brilliant. Carry on sir. 🙂

    I commented recently I would build a 9 in radius layout similar to the one in your previous video. I made the layout 1500mm x 600mm to allow for a bit more scenery and a long industry siding. Tomorrow is the big day, I’ve built the baseboard, laid cork, and laid most of the track. Found myself a little short so a second trip to the model shop was completed today and we will be running trains tomorrow! I’m very excited to say the least and I can honestly say I would definitely not be doing it if it were not for your video. Thank you.

      @@BudgetModelRailways for years I thought you needed an 8x4 space which i never had to spare. I’m now effectively building a 5x2 layout in a 6x6 shed and it will slide under a bed for storage.

      Sounds great. The myth about minimum size has caused so many people to be put off. In effect Hornbys TT range was designed because everyone believed the myths

    This is not my own idea. Apologies if it's one of yours already and that's where I saw it! As with the scourer hedges, if you do the same thing but with ballast you get a pretty effective rough stone wall. Cheers

    That hangar would make a good bus depot if you convert it to a half depth building and put some extra doors in.
    Did you see the announcement by Faller of the most expensive bottle of PU foam on the market?

    Nice layout just a question do you isolate the points with nylon fish plates to run more than two trains?

    • @BudgetModelRailways
      @BudgetModelRailways  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. No they are insulfrog points so they isolate themselves
