Your audio track is a great addition to the feeling of being there, at a station with people and a steam engine hissing away in the background! Thank you, your videos bring back memories of my youth.
Thank you so much for the trouble you have gone to producing this video. It brings back happy times of Yorushire Countryside , so real I can almost hear ( & smell) the sheep. Living in Australia this is a memory of the past.
This has to be one of the best layouts I've watched. The attention to detail and overall impression of realism is top notch. And the canal boat, in my humble opinion, put it over the top. Beautiful.
Great video Lewis ,really like the eye level views especially from the embankment side ,nice to see the moguls earning there keep . The new roses look good against the cottage .😊
Morning Lewis, well that was a lovely surprise finding this when I got up, such a gentle start, the birds chirping away just the sound of a railway waking up, and then the mixed freight getting ready and on its way to somewhere on the network, you do have the gift of firing my imagination. I really enjoy those low-level shots from looking up at these monsters of power, not in a bad way but showing the strength of the engines. I enjoyed reading the article in the hornby magazine and it highlighted the effort you put into making some of your videos travelling between two sites. One final comment after the standard 4 uncoupled and was returning to what was to be the front of the train, it makes me smile how the sheep are watching the departing train, they really do this, thank you for making the effort its nice to just enjoy seeing trains running. Take care Eddy xx
Beautiful modeling! Exacting detail that is not overdone. This is a real pleasure to look at and to watch. Your sound is spot on. This is one of the nicest layouts I have seen in my 70 years of railroad model!
Again, a great video. Watching the scenery, you feel like being present in the middle of good old England. Fantastic how the sound fits to the movements. I like it!!!
Just astonishing attention to detail! Most of the time I couldn't believe I was watching a model. The ubelievably realistic scenery, the wonderful sound-effects and the really professional camera-work make this the most outstanding video of it's type I've ever seen - and I've seen plenty! The perfect 'weathering' and that superbly realistic pullaway at around 7.40 is simply astonishing. Thank you so much for posting.
Such a stunning layout and so immersive as every shot only captures the layout and not glimpses of the surroundings or a random pet/hand of god! Thanks for putting this together and sharing 👍
No matter how many times I sit and become absorbed in the presentation I am always blown away with the way the sound and the picture is in sync. Truly fantastic. Lewis, if you want to expand your videos you could always make educational videos on how you capture the sound and then sync it to a given locomotive, totally awesome Danke👍
Great job, Lewis! I love your new camera angels! You really have the cinematography genius! Everything is perfectly framed and choreographed. Keep it up!
Fantastic video, top level. And the layout is incredibly realistic, I can learn a lot of it and apply to my own layout. Thank you so much for uploading this piece of art! I have subscribed. Greetings from Belgium 🙋♂️ Erik
How is it that modelers can create stunning scenery, perfectly weathered propulsion and rolling stock and impeccably-aged scale structures while littering their masterpiece with shiny odd-looking shapes masquerading as people?
Very much like yojr switching/shunting programs. The new detailing is excellent. Still no depiction of your canine friend. Take care, Lewis! Thank you for your posting!
I recognise this from the Hornby Magazine article I read last week. Very nice layout. This video looks like just one of your two layouts. Interesting sound; added later I assume from recordings I assume ?
@@MouldyRaspberry Awwww that is so so so good to hear 😀 Totally look forward to your video of your 'proper' layout on due course then fingers crossed 😊👍🚂
Very realistic. As is somebody stopped the time (exept for the trains). Sound is also very good. If possible a smoke generator on the steamengines would make it even better. And I recognise the small freight carriages that were used some time ago. I once was at Ely were there was back then a shunting yard with retarders Kings, Queens and Jacks. A receving Yard, a shunting yard and a forwarding yard with a small hill were the brake vans were stored and coupled to the train just by losing the brakes and they rolled down to the train by gravity. I guess all that beautiful train material from those years (it was 1976) will probably not exist anymore.
Im in texas, im playing train sim classic and tsw3 right now and using scarm to build a layout soon, i want a layout that has all of the worlds trains, it will start in america, go through a tunnel and be in the uk, then another and be in polandand so on and so on. This is one of the most beautiful european setups i have ever seen. The detail is great ill be usi g it as a reference for sure.
Lovely atmosphere settingto the start of video. Looks like some "passengers" are not amused by the goods traffic arrivals😂 waiting for their train to arrive, conflicted roster? Anyhow, another great delivery of excellence in train traffic. I did notice over time i watched your videos, i dont see tanker rolling stock in your consists? Do you have some around in your yards there?
Haha maybe someone switch the timetable last minute 🤣 I do have some oil tanker wagons somewhere actually - I think they’re on the main layout. Next time I’m there I’ll pick them up so I can film them on this layout as well.
What about the bigger railway? Is that never to be seen again? Nice running session, although I think you gave the Standard 4 tender engine a few too many vans to haul. God's Wonderful Railway isn't shown very often, I can see why. Why not save up your money for a Dapol Manor class instead? The second batch of Dapol Manors is available to pre-order right now, for £151.78, and due to be released between July and December this year. Or you could save up for a P Class tank engine, for £85. You'll be waiting a longer time for Accurascale to release their models, believe me. Happy modelling and we all hope to see the bigger railway in action next time, as we really miss it.😉
My advice would be start small, a few pieces of second hand track , an old Lima locomotive and a off cut piece of ply . Clean and repair them, you can learn so much like that. I call my layout East Bay so you can tell where my stuff often comes from. Just be canny when you buy in stock. Who knows? you may even get as excellent as Mouldy Rasberry.
10 minutes pure escapism !
Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
I swear I could smell those locos!
I love that smell!

Thanks Steven - I need to get round to that!
At 5:12 you need that fence mending before the winter storms! :)
It looks like even a gentle breeze would knock it over!
I recognise this from the Hornby Magazine article I read last week. Very nice layout. This video looks like just one of your two layouts.

Thank you 👍🏻 Yes that’s right, mainly bits I’ve recorded at heritage railways.
Perfect footage, beautiful sound!

O what a lovely model railway would love to come, and see it are you open to public.
Thank you 😀
Thanks for more countryside trainspotting 😂
Does any of your old outstanding large layout still exist??
It is/was a true masterpiece!
Thanks! 😀 Yes it’s all still there luckily, just at my parents so I film a load of stuff whenever I’m over there but haven’t had a chance recently.

If they ever do a remake of james herriot's "all creatures great and small" i hope they set it somewhere on your railroad!

I'm sure the chap in the brown coat with a newspaper sitting on Misslethwaite station platform is a foreign agent gathering vital intelligence.
You’re right, he does give off undercover agent vibes….
Beautiful scenery on the layout. Like to see diesel locomotive ruining in this layout.

The modelling is so good that I keep confusing thumbnails with reality.

What about the bigger railway? Is that never to be seen again? Nice running session, although I think you gave the Standard 4 tender engine a few too many vans to haul. You’re right about Accurascale, they’re taking a while to realise things!
Another good one Lewis!
I’ve been meaning to ask , what length of static grass do you use most often?
Cheers from Canada

Thanks Bob. I start with 2mm all over, then use a 4mm, then 6mm in patches
