Wellbridge is a 4mm scale, OO gauge, finescale layout. It is based on Southern Region practice under British Rail in the late 1950s/60s. Wellbridge is a fictitious layout and the name comes from Thomas Hardy's Wessex novels & poems. While not based on any prototype, train operation follows the traffic patterns of Branksome and Parkstone.
OUR STORY:
In 1958 the Crawley Model Railway Society was formed by a small group of enthusiasts with a common cause, wanting to share knowledge and build better model railways.
Since then the society has grown to have a club hut, many layouts and have held numerous workshops to help pass on skills and knowledge with other members. Now with the advent of the internet and easy access of video tools at a low cost we now plan to film workshops & model railway videos, allowing a much wider audience to learn from others about Railway Modelling.

I used to provide trains and help run this layout, it’s a massive 14 road fiddle yard with all roads capable of holding 2 trains on each
