The 1991 7up sponsorship on the Jordan car wasn´t meant to be. The Pepsi company planned to sponsor the 1991 Michael Jackson world tour but this tour was cancelled for a very odd reason. Visiting a barber shop Jackson´s coiffure went ablaze. And so the sponsor money went to Jordan. Eddie Jordan told this story in Motorsport magazine a couple of years ago.
You have to be wary about some of the things EJ says....there's always a whiff of bullshit out of some of the stories he sells but indeed, he smelled opportunity in bagging them as a sponsor for that one year. Gorgeous livery.
Jordan also had allegedly choosen green as the primary colour bevor getting most sponsors except for the Irish tourism board. He than went an look a up all brand that used green in their advertising packed up the car and drove to potential sponsors to show them what he had build and convince them. He also turned a 25 pound sticker in a Porsche for him self :D Porsche wasn't happy about the fact Jordan had named the car Jordan 911 and demanded that he would change it, war he did but he told Porsche it would cost him loads of money and they should reimburse him with a car. I was obsessed with the 1995 livery, I remember being so excited for seeing it with the raised nose-cone in 1996 (I think the last image you show of this livery is during testing for 1996 season just before they'd secured B&H), I was so disappointed when they turned up at Melbourne with the yellow cars, although Brundle's shunt more than made up for it from a viewers perspective! which car was it that had 7up on one side and another sponsor on the other side with a zipper painted down the middle? probably from the early 1990's. it got into a wreck and spun around and it almost looked like 2 different cars in the wreck.
Sorry i'm a year late, but the car u must be mentioning is the 1999 BAR. 7up only sponsored Jordan in 1991, so no chance of it being part of the BAR car.
