    man, i've been following F1 since '98 and this brings tears to my eyes, cuz even as a Tifosi and Michael Schumacher fan, Minardi will still be the team that despite being backmarkers, always managed to stay afloat and always beat the odds whilst introducing drivers such as Mark Webber, Fernando Alonso to the world of F1. Such underdog charm is a lost art in modern F1. Maybe Haas might prove me wrong, but right now Minardi will still be Minardi to me.

      becuz Haas entered as independent team in F1 with 10 year plan in 2016 and Toro Rosso is just a affiliate team to Red Bull, so that doesn't count to me

    Minardi was one of the rare team where they could stay afloat in F1 and have some loyal fans despite never even close to being competitive after 1991 (and that time when Jos Verstappen set a fastest lap in 2003).
    How could that happened?

    • @f1liveryhistories290

    Loved the lion logos as a kid. And after all those years, it's really amazing performances every time Minardi got a points finish when only top 6 got points. Glad there's still people paying tribute to that.

      During one season, Toyota had a 400 million dollar budget, with Trulli and Ralf Schumacher as pilots, followed by Ferrari with 250 million. I think the Toyota budget covers every Minardi season...
      Toyota's budget in the mid 2000's was insane! I always bought an F1 magazine/hand book before the season, were all the teams, drivers, new rules etc. were presented. They also covered the estimated budget of each team. Where did all the money go? They never were competing for the title. Jarno hardly reached the podium sometimes.
      F1 really works/worked different than football...

    • @TheRomanRuler
      @TheRomanRuler 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@yannick245 They wasted huge amount of money because they had to create entirely new team from scratch. Toyota's story became example to others, and these days everyone prefers to buy existing team and just remake it. Even worst teams still have lot of expertise and infrastructure that is necessary to run F1 team.
      Another reason is that at first they did not bring F1 experts in the team, prefering to mostly run it in-house. In fact they even changed Mika Salo's Finnish race engineer because they did not like them speaking Finnish with each other. Which is insanely stupid, not only its easier to get messages across in native language, communication and trust between race engineer and driver is extremely important. Everyone can order a meal in English, but when driver says car feels "funny", its way easier to ask for explanation in their native language.
      Maybe if Toyota would have actually spent the money on getting all the best talents, maybe then F1 would work more like football.
