the guys working on the Flash should've honestly just looked at A-Train from the Boys.. their perception and visualization of speed is very well done imo. You can clearly see that A-Train is actually moving his body parts at high speeds instead of gliding across the floor. But you managed to capture that same logic quite well!
I think yours should be leaning forward more. Also my biggest issue with the original isn't the cgi but the color grading. It's waaaaaaay too orange. If that was fixed this could be 100x better
While I agree that The Flash running form in this scene could look more convincing, I've seen people use that Mixamo animation before and it just never worked for the character, it simply has no superheroic vibe to it, and when sped up like it is in your version, it kinda gives off goofy Sheldon Cooper as The Flash vibe, like yeah, it's normal human run animation, but it's too plain-looking. Maybe more motion blur for the legs and arms would make it closer to CW The Flash early seasons running look, also whole body leaning more forward as it usually does in the comics (recommend looking up Crimsoned Renz, he accurately recreated CW's running style for his 3D animations). But I also get your time constraints with this one, all the compositing work looks flawless
Not trying to disrespect, but the running still looks a bit weird. The aesthetic to go for in this scene is hard to visualize 'coz we're just not used to seeing people run that fast in real life. I'd prolly go for same overall shape/angle that the movie used where he is leaning forward 'coz that's how the flash looks like in the comics anyway. Combine that with how you did the legs. But minimize the bobbing/flickering of the upper body. That was what looked the most weird to me. That said, how you adjusted the look of the model and composited it with the movie scene is nothing short of spectacular. I followed a lot of your Davinci tutorials. I don't know how to use Blender but if you start making tutorials, I'd love to learn from you.
EXACTLY what i said. Flash's back always leans forward while he runs, and the running animation he used the back is way too straight and looks weird, but i see what he was going for tho. i wish the movie had his legs and arms moving fast like that
Looks really good, but as a runner myself, I feel like he should be leaned a little bit more forward, allowing him to go a little higher with his knees.
Considering how all the odds were against this movie Andy Muschietti was still able to do a decent job on his own At least he made this movie fun and exciting I do hope he gets to direct BRAVE AND THE BOLD because I loved his approach on Batman
I'm so sorry for the disrespect the moment is started running I bursted out laughing 🤣🤣 And the moment you criticize at 0:08 it's intended for laughs, like..-*wooosh* the joke flew past so many people I guess.
It's really encouraging to see how these relatively small tweaks can transform the experience. But the term "fix" might be a bit inappropriate. I agree, the original running style looks super goofy, but it was a creative choice, not a failure in execution. I understand "fix" probably feeds the online algorithm well, but even just saying "remade" would be more respectful of the original creators choices. Just something to consider. All the same, good on you for putting your creative choices out there for audiences and studios alike to be inspired by.
The issue was never that he runs weird, its that the run is too slow and it doesn't follow the conventions of our gravity so it looks weird. Literally just speed up the footage and he looks fine
i guess the movie was trying to be unique and not be like the series. when the series did a good job on the running. But wow. this is good in what you've created.
You should have did something in the running on water scene too like you did in putting the lighting on top of the model..Cause its kinda standout while running in water. well thats just an observation..still looks good👏👏👏
The vfx in the movie wasn't the best but this specific part that people like to nitpick and complain about is simply just the animation which was an artistic choice...
I think it looks pretty damn impactful , reminds me of that captain and Bucky running In Avengers infinity war wakanda original. In 1 week of time it's insane , I would love to see you tweak this further . Love your videos man ! Thanks again for that rigging animation tutorial legend o7
Finally this scene make more sense👌🔥 Thank you for doing that. Your tutorial videos are very helpful. I wish you could do one day a full tutorial, how to make a glow effect of Goku transformation to supersayan. 🔥
your video is very illustrative even though it is short. btw, can you make a video tutorial on how to create a fake shadow effect from a greenscreen video in fusion? i haven't found the right way for some reason, including what are the names of the nodes i need. thanks in advanced
I prefer the original movie version. He seems to be reaching through the air pushing the speed force forward. Yours just looks like a weird speed-up cartoon.
Not bad at all but when a runner is sprinting they are leaning forward your character was straight up and down. I would say look at some Olympic runners and add some of their movement to this. But for sure it looks so much better than the way he floundered around as he ran.
6:10 1) the animation is quite bad, he is looking like he is limp on one leg and the head is glitching, are you sure you are not missing some keyframes to the animation also? 2) The animation looks like it is 15 frames /s 3) The torso angle of the animation does not correspond to the speed of running when you fasten it up I like the lighting, the replacement of the body, the face mapping and the camera work, that was great. it is just the animation itself, that feels quarky
It looks like it is actually running! The original looked more like he was sliding or skating on the pavement. I don't realyl knwo what they were thinking when they made this movie.
The OG flash just looks dumb while running, like who the hell runs like that... Like if he were dancing while running Now, i don't care if the flash does ballet, real running does not look like that and i bet running like that is super inefficient Still, better than the OG and i agree with one coment, leaning a little while running will make it better
Kinda swapping goofy running for a different kind of goofy? Seems to be the film should have motion captured a professional sprinter and just used that - have the background move faster but the actor’s body moving in a realistic way.
That's fair, if I had more time I might have tried to make it look a bit more natural, but with the time I had this was the best animation I could find
Not that I'm defending the original, but your version just doesn't sell speed. He's not leaning into the run, and his strides are too short and stiff. You should have looked around for some mocap of actual runners sprinting for your running animation. This looks like an upcycled Atari game.
That what I mean people immediately think bad when u say AI I use an ai voice changer to make vocals for my songs but people say THAT'S CHEATING hell no I make the beats the video all my self so and I don't have a singing voice but an ai makes my voice better
I wouldn’t say you fixed it. You didn’t really improve it either. The perspective is off and the animation is not great, also you didn’t do any color correction and you didn’t exactly nail it in the raw renders
This video is a waste of time. The running animation is what you wanted to replace but you spent 99% of the video working on creating the model and compositing it into the scene. And just lazily grabbing a terrible premade animation and using that without even modifying it. Come on man.
I love it way more than the original for sure! This is insane! I definitely feel like the running animation is holding it back though, it feels kind of stiff and upright
nah, if u are running at 50000km/h the film version is better. Look at Olympic racers, they are most of the time in air, every step move them like 2.5 meters. Imagine FLASH, bro is taking 1km per step.
tbh, you lost me at the part where you tried to make flash, a super human being, run like a normal human. Him running like that is to propel his self farther and faster rather than taking a million normal running steps.
AI? No thanks. It's still bad. The computational energy you required to do it is bad for the environment. Yes, you need to use a lot of that when rendering, sure, but this still required more than you needed to use. Also, the running doesn't look natural. You should look more into biomechanics before doing something like that, not to be rude.
@NomadRProductions actually according to physics the flash running way in the movie is more accurate than yours. Each step of a speedster according to science should take a large section instead of short steps like you did.
It's crazy to watch this when I made a Flash video a couple months ago and literally went through almost all the same steps. I used the same model and everything. th-cam.com/video/_Loux1Dz4-A/w-d-xo.html
Lol that's shit. Pretty horrible. Normally I'm not brutally honest in TH-cam comments, because people dedicate time and effort to entertain others. But since that's exactly the point of your video... Yeah, I don't feel guilt
I feel like his torso should have been ever-so-slightly more leaned forward. Something about how straight he is standing feels uncanny, but it is still better than the original
the guys working on the Flash should've honestly just looked at A-Train from the Boys.. their perception and visualization of speed is very well done imo. You can clearly see that A-Train is actually moving his body parts at high speeds instead of gliding across the floor. But you managed to capture that same logic quite well!
For me Ezra’s Flash in ZSJL was better, also Makari in Eternals has a better visualization of speed
There is also eternals to look at
I think yours should be leaning forward more. Also my biggest issue with the original isn't the cgi but the color grading. It's waaaaaaay too orange. If that was fixed this could be 100x better
It's not a filter, it is ezra piss on the camera lens 😂

I agree with your point, looks so much better with fast feet and arms vs the long slow sliding arms and legs.
FR IT JUST LOOKS CURSED😭💀

EXACTLY what i said. Flash's back always leans forward while he runs, and the running animation he used the back is way too straight and looks weird, but i see what he was going for tho. i wish the movie had his legs and arms moving fast like that
he should use references of athletes running instead, I'm pretty sure that's what they did for the Boys
Since The Flash movie came out, I've been waiting for a video like this to appear, thank you.
Looks really good, but as a runner myself, I feel like he should be leaned a little bit more forward, allowing him to go a little higher with his knees.
That mugshot joke earned you a like 😂😂😂
The moment I saw the mugshot I knew what I had to do
Good work. I wonder how it will look with more time.
Good luck with your school assessments. 🙌🏾🇿🇦
I only watched this movie because of Michael Keaton’s Batman making a return
ngl man, but your render makes the original look way better💀 but i get the idea of yours, him actually running at the speed he's supposed to be
Considering how all the odds were against this movie
Andy Muschietti was still able to do a decent job on his own
At least he made this movie fun and exciting
I do hope he gets to direct BRAVE AND THE BOLD because I loved his approach on Batman
I'm so sorry for the disrespect the moment is started running I bursted out laughing 🤣🤣 And the moment you criticize at 0:08 it's intended for laughs, like..-*wooosh* the joke flew past so many people I guess.
Would love to see you try again with a better running cycle animation. Everything else was flawless
The reason he runs the way he does is that he is not hindered by friction, that is part of his powers.
The running animation you picked looks goofy, but I like that it gives him more weight instead of sliding.
Now, that's running. NOT skating. 🤣
Its so goofy that its actually good
2:00 - 2:13 is comedy gold!
Absolutely amazing! I think you textured the model perfectly and it looks super well composited, great job!
Same quality, but less annoying run animation! It's like 90% better!
Technically we do the same as a.i. when we look at images and gain inspiration from them
You should have did something in the running on water scene too like you did in putting the lighting on top of the model..Cause its kinda standout while running in water. well thats just an observation..still looks good👏👏👏
This guy is hella underated
So freaking cool!!
There is already an addon that does what that website does for faces, called Re-Face :)
This looks pretty good
damnnn that was so neat 🙌🙌
The vfx in the movie wasn't the best but this specific part that people like to nitpick and complain about is simply just the animation which was an artistic choice...
No offence but you didn't fix it. It looked like flash was limping. Anyways you did try at a limited time hats off to that.
That's something dope bro 🔥
The run looks like a jog sped up. It should be a sprint with big leaps
I am speechless.You should make a movie.
That's dope!
The problem with Flash's way of running is that they thought that applying real physics would look cool. It didn't
Very nice video!
The running animation looks kinnda goofy ngl but other than that this actually looks so great considering the low res footages and renders
I think it looks pretty damn impactful , reminds me of that captain and Bucky running In Avengers infinity war wakanda original. In 1 week of time it's insane , I would love to see you tweak this further . Love your videos man !
Thanks again for that rigging animation tutorial legend o7
Awsome. This is how flash should be running like..
Finally this scene make more sense👌🔥 Thank you for doing that. Your tutorial videos are very helpful. I wish you could do one day a full tutorial, how to make a glow effect of Goku transformation to supersayan. 🔥

nice effort
yeah, it looks good , well done dude ! now i know why they didnt do what they didnt do lol.
Well now we have worse flash run than the original movie 😂
You should fix the Christopher Reeve Superman cameo next
I mean .... you didnt let me down as much as the acctual movie did
You need more subs!!!!
really enjoy this arc 😎
Honestly much better than the original
Here before the algorithm gives this to everyone
To be honest, he should have been leaning to the front a bit more to sell the speed....but other than that it looks great
Any resources where u learned davenci
I prefer the original movie version. He seems to be reaching through the air pushing the speed force forward. Yours just looks like a weird speed-up cartoon.
But, from what I've heard, isn't the "speed force" for that? To eliminate friction and drag?
should have ahd him leaning forward more and a lot more blur on the arms and legs. but not bad man
So much better
Yeah defniitely not better, no idea what people are on
Not bad at all but when a runner is sprinting they are leaning forward your character was straight up and down. I would say look at some Olympic runners and add some of their movement to this. But for sure it looks so much better than the way he floundered around as he ran.
Matching the camera was the most impressive part of all of this 🤣 great work! 👏
Thanks! That was the part I was most worried about going into this project lol
The TV show alwwys crushed the running
6:10
1) the animation is quite bad, he is looking like he is limp on one leg and the head is glitching, are you sure you are not missing some keyframes to the animation also?

Nice
It looks like it is actually running! The original looked more like he was sliding or skating on the pavement. I don't realyl knwo what they were thinking when they made this movie.
thats exactly what they were thinking lol. since hes running so fast theres like no friction so they took inspiration from ice skaters for his run
The OG flash just looks dumb while running, like who the hell runs like that... Like if he were dancing while running

Hell nah
🤩🤩
Looks so much better

Lol that's shit. Pretty horrible.
Normally I'm not brutally honest in TH-cam comments, because people dedicate time and effort to entertain others. But since that's exactly the point of your video... Yeah, I don't feel guilt
Still looks bad looks like 2 frame maximo animation
Your running animation is also not the best. It doesn't feel real, it doesn't have weight and momentum. Real humans don't run like that
If you want feedback, I think it looks stupid
I feel like his torso should have been ever-so-slightly more leaned forward. Something about how straight he is standing feels uncanny, but it is still better than the original
Bro, move on. Stop with appologizing for using AI. People with VFx careers have been using AI for years. Apologizing for using a tool is cringe.
Yessir 🫡 doing the lords work
I understand that you had limited but why you pick exactly that janky running animation 🥲
