AeroUnion 7002 approaching LAX has trouble following instructions!

On the late evening of Monday, June 17th, 2024, AeroUnion 7002 Heavy has difficulty following instructions by LAX Final Approach ATC. It got to the point that it created a traffic alert, causing a Delta to maneuver.

They understood all the instructions but I'm pretty sure there was some major distraction going on in that cockpit because their situational awareness just went clean out the window.

That's what I think as well. They seemed to understand what ATC was telling them. They just couldn't comply. I wonder what was going on in there. Not making excuses, but I think there's more going on here.

Won’t matter. I worked that sector for many, many moons. Pilot deviations go to the State Department (at least they used to) and the state department promptly filed them in the round file. South American airlines were the worst for following/understanding instructions.

Scary! The only saving grace would be his altitude of 5000 feet. I flew my Mooney into SFO with a 700 foot ceiling and approach got on me for 30 feet off of my assigned altitude. What he was really saying is that you are playing with the big boys and you had better have your shit together. When I landed he complimented me. But this clown shouldn't be allowed to pilot a airplane pedal car!
He must have still been with SoCal approach because once on final approach they are never that slow in instructions.

I think the problem was they did not know how to manage their advanced technology avionics. They could not program them to do what ACT told them to do. I am a retired airline pilot who made the transition from analog to glass cockpits at 50 and know how hard that is to do, Just a guess...

@@cloudstreets1396 I remember when i was i the navy,a pilot landed on our base and the air controller told the dude to taxi in and park the plane, they called for a truck to drive him off the base. As soon as he part the controller came down said "Hello, please hand me you license, this truck will drive you off the base... Always saw aviation is a bit more strict then cars... Annoying thing this was in the 80's and out base was 10 miles from anything, no cell phone...

That's how a lot of immigrants get their CDL without being able to speak English, they know keywords and terminology without knowing exactly what it means, which could very likely be the case here.

Clearly the pilot confused his left and right. Its possible that his co-pilot tried to correct him that is the reason for the immediate request of repeat command just after the pilot turned yoke to left. Now he tried to compensate it by turning right slowly and wide instead of immediately to probably lessen the G-force for passengers' comfort.
