It seems that it is only the modernist Calvinists, most of whom have rejected the historical reformed confessions, are also the ones who have also adopted modern textual criticism. It seems like the rejection of the historical confessions (or their re-interpretation) goes hand in hand with the adoption of modern textual criticism.
I can attest coming from the Weslyian / Arminian stream Modern Critical Textual Theory is undermining them as well. Sola Scriptura is being completely eroded by modernism.
good choice.... to move it to a tc channel... there is a huge need for it... how many are doing nt tc on youtube from a "reformed" perspective, compared to the critical text perspective and other biblical themes and subjects ? not many...
Hey pastor had a quick questions, is there really any big difference between the 1873 KJV and the 1769? I bought a pocket New Testament from Hendricksons publishers and it’s a “1873” KjV. I plan on going through it and seeing where it differs from the one I normally use. Just wanted your insight on it. Thanks in advance!
Hi Aaron, I have actually not done any research on this topic. I personally would just stick with the 1769 as it is the standard that other KJV readers will have. I can do some research on this for you and maybe post a video at some point!
