    Hi, brother, thanks for your nice tutorial. I have a question. I checked the event manager and it shows the data received from browser. My question is how to set up server-side tracking in Shopify without an app? Do I need to create an account on stape and connect it wth GTM then configure all tags and triggers? Sorry, I know this process works for wordpress but I'm not sure about shopify. That's why I need your suggestions.
    Thanks again for helping us.

    • @TrackingAcademy

      Yes, correct. It's the same process for Shopify too

      Ah, are you referring to tracking the upsell conversions on Shopify or simply tracking the first purchase via order status script. There is a link on the video description, that takes you to trackingacademy.com/blog/shopify/fb-pixel-purchase-shopify-gtm and once you click on sign-in via google, you can view the script

    Hey dude, this is a great video. But i have a question, i already connect the pixel through Facebook & Instagram App for Shopify & it seems the purchase fired automatically, will there be a double trigger when we put the purchase snippet into the order status additional script?

    • @TrackingAcademy
      @TrackingAcademy  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Adding the code snippets for dataLayer will not fire a duplicate event. However, having extra Meta tags in GTM will fire duplicate events. If you’re using the plugin/app, you don’t need the gtm

    Good video, thank you, it helped me. But on the tagassistant I can only see an event "purchase" with the product data (on data layer I can see my test purchase data like name etc) and I have an Event: user_data where I can see ther actual name etc.
    is there something wrong ?

    • @TrackingAcademy
      @TrackingAcademy  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, Not sure i understand the questions properly. If you are referring to the dataLayer event, then on the final thank-you page, you should see an event for "user_data", and then after that, another event "custom_purchase" should fire. The purchase event you might be seeing is from Ga4 or google ads integration, you can check to see if the purchase event has eventModel inside the dataLayer?

      @@TrackingAcademy Could you please help me regarding the bellow problem-
      In my GTM for shopify website all tags(FB base pixel, view content, add to cart, checkout) are fired except Purchase Tag. Several times I tried to fire this tag but couldn't. What may be the reasons and what may be the solution?

    • @TrackingAcademy
      @TrackingAcademy  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There can be a few issues:
      1. The dataLayer event is not firing.
      2. The Tags are not firing in GTM.
      3. The Tags are firing but status of Meta Tags is "failed"
      4. Meta Tags fires successfully but the Meta Event Manager did not revived the event.
      You can check, at what point you are stuck, and go from there.

    Hey man loved your video! I have a question: If i already have integrated the Facebook Pixel through Meta App from Shopify app store. Should i remove that, orit's fine to keep both active. i feel like this would cause double firing no? And if so, i recon the GTM fb pixel would be more powerful than the one from the app?

    • @TrackingAcademy
      @TrackingAcademy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, for 90% of the users that has a basic theme, and the default checkout, the native integration of Facebook App works fine. Google Tag Manager is a more custom solution and has better control but it's also more complex. With Facebook Native Integration, the conversion API is configured by default, and with GTM, you can do it yourself.
      For most of the users, i recommend using the native integration, unless they observer or see a huge discrepancy in the tracking..! I hope you understand the question you asked changes from store to store, and the above explanation is a little general one

    Hey man loved your video! I have a question: If i already have meta pixel connected with my shopify store through the shopify meta app, is this going to cause overlaping or double firing? If so should i remove the pixel connection from meta app, or GTM, which is more accurate? Or if no problem i can leave both running?

    • @TrackingAcademy
      @TrackingAcademy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It will Count Doubles, you only need one of them...! by default, GTM and Native are equally accurate, however since GTM is a custom setup, it can be optimized more with server-side tracking etc.

    • @TrackingAcademy
      @TrackingAcademy  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There can be a few issues, maybe you have:
      1) ad blocker on the thank_you page.
      2) The scripts are properly added on the order_status section on checkout settings
      3) You do not have upsell/post purchase apps on your store
      4) you are using the native checkout system of shopify

    Why couldn't we put this script into the Tag manager container? I mean the one from the 3rd section of the video?

    • @TrackingAcademy
      @TrackingAcademy  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The script is written in liquid, therefore it cannot run outside of the shopify order status section. Adding it via GTM, will not trigger the custom_purchase_event

    @eslamabou-shashaa4652 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    All videos are amazing, but I have issues. The purchase event is being tracked twice by the Facebook pixel helper, but with different parameters. What could be the problem?

    • @TrackingAcademy
      @TrackingAcademy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, you might have more than one integration of FB Pixel that is causing multiple events with different event parameters on the Helper.
      One event is being fired from the GTM, and other one be from the native integration, a third-party app or maybe another GTM Container. It's also wise to check your GTM Tags and Triggers to see if you have accidentally set more than one tag's event name to Purchase.
      Good Luck and Happy Tracking.!

    • @TrackingAcademy
      @TrackingAcademy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, when we are using the template tag, it handles the _fbc and _fbp cookies by default. For server sidetracking we have to manually send the cookies to the server and then send it with Conversion API.

    • @mhummayunumair3275
      @mhummayunumair3275 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @shahzadaalihassan_ sir I used you format and in event quality score fpb and fbc quality is not hashed. Please guide

    • @TrackingAcademy
      @TrackingAcademy  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The fbc and fbp parameters do not require any hashing. When using FB app for Shopify, we do not have any control on the events and the parameters. Also the ad blockers and other browser ITP restrictions causes issues with the Pixel tracking. You might have to upgrade to a custom google tag manager based solution if you wish to get more precise with the server side tracking for FB.
