Hi Vertex! Another great video 🎉.. I have a question/suggestion, I understand you provide (handpicked) coaching services but I was wondering, for the technically non-inclined and non-interested people, I’m sure some of us would find it super cool if you could provided for a fee a service of: We will install every technical thing for you (e. g. Google tag manager, Facebook pixel, Data Layer etc.). Learning and implementing all these extremely useful thing definitely takes us much more time than experts like you so I was thinking such a service can definitely be of value 😊.. Just thinking out loud here! Thank you for the great contents.
Great video Cedric, I found an article of Simo Ahavaabout persistent datalayer but it was not clear enough ; this guide is definately what I was seraching for!
a very useful video, big thumbs up. One question, if we want to push a "form submitted" event that triggers once a user fills the form, what can we put in the "custom event field", does the developers have to push the event name from their side on the code and we just copy and paste it? also knowing how to track purchase and purchase value it would be very helpful!
can I ask about your utm events I saw in the video? What is there purpose in this context. I use utm parameters, but from what I can tell gtm/ga4 pull them in automatically without the need for events. for example if someone comes from , then shouldn't that parameter travel with the user through their website journey automatically? I guess my question is why these are events for you instead of just session source, medium etc.
I tried this, but the form isn't website original, but the script was put into the website, so I tried to find the correct information with F12 on the page, saw the form script, then looked for email and first name, but here was no value, just the ID. And it doesn't collect the data, unfortunately.
Hi Vertex, thanks for this. It helped me a lot with Enhanced Conversion setup in Google Ads. BTW, I noticed that for one website that I am working on that uses Gravirty form and a TY page, Persist datalayer doesn't work. The cJS dataLayer variables won't persist on the next page. It worked on other websites before and the set up is the same but can't get it to work on this website that uses Gravity form and TY page. Do you have an idea what's wrong?
Hi, I’ve tried the persist datalayer code on 2different websites and the code (for persisting the datalayer) doesn’t seem to work. Any ideas why this is not working?
Hey Cedric, thanks for the video. Getting the data with Javascript Variables was the only thing that worked for me. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. One question: is the persist on dataLayer code still working for you? I saw some folks in the comments worried about hashing the data before sending it to Facebook. I'm doing that. I tried to share the Notion link with code and the screenshot to prove it, but my comment was automatically deleted.
Happy the video was helpful! The template takes care of hashing the data. Do this test: turn on advanced matching for the page view event, add the email field and put a dummy value like test@gmail.com and preview any page and when you’re in preview mode open the Facebook pixel helper chrome extension and you’ll see that the value for the email field has been hashed :)
Hello. I'm sending you a message from Turkey. I set up my Facebook Pixel with Google Tag Manager. I also opened a container as "Server" in Tag Manager. In which container should I perform these operations you mentioned? In a server or web container?
This video helped me a lot! but i'm having a problem where the Email - DL etc. immediately returns an empty string ("") from the first page, that resulted empty data when it reached my thank you page. anyone can help me on this?
You can’t really view the data you send to Facebook (you only get broad numbers). So instead I would recommend using the same trigger and to send the dataLayer variables to something like a Google Sheet so you can see all the data that is being sent to FB.
Great video. Keep sharing more video like this. Thanks

Yes, your dev would have to fire a dataLayer event when the user submits the form. So that would be done on the backend
Thanks for the vid but you forgot to show us the persist data layer code?
Please upload a video with full details practical
Great video, mate
Hi Vertex! Incredible video!! Just one question... does it work for API conversions too? Do I need to hash the customer information (ex: email)?
Hi Vertex! This is a great video. But how can I get the Datalayer code?

Can you make a video about items id. How to pass items id parameters without data layer using Google tag manager.

Sir please make a full details video Shopify customer data layer ❤
Hi! First of all excelent job! Persistent Data Layer and Send to DL TAGs should be on server side?
No those are tags that I use in my web container

In the web container :)
Can we also get element by id?
can you show the whole Code for Presist DataLayer?
This video helped me a lot! but i'm having a problem where the Email - DL etc. immediately returns an empty string ("") from the first page, that resulted empty data when it reached my thank you page. anyone can help me on this?
Did you use the persist DL code?
Nice!
What should I do if my name form field is set to full name?
How to do this for calendly?
For Facebook, aren’t you supposed to hash the PII values being used?
Hi, I use WordPress / Gravity Forms. There is no value. Would i use the ID - input_1_2? Thx!
No you should be able to use the name but I recommend you rename it to something else. Input_2 is not really unique
@@VertexMarketingAgency Thanks!, book Cedric today. He fixed everything for me in one day and knows his stuff.
You're not supposed to send PII to the data layer.
how do you pass GCLID?
Hi, will this work on a shopify store? Then also this info that get sent to facebook it will then use the info to improve the ad placement correct?
Yes, this would work on a Shopify store but you can also hard code it in your theme (that would be a better solution)
Shouldn't the customer parameters be encrypted/hashed before sending to FB?
I believe this template does it for you.
Hi, how do we then view the data that we've sent to FB or tell whether it's getting there? Many thanks
