Just bought this car today as my first car and this video was very useful. Thank you for making this video! Just know 5 years later it’s still helping people!
Thanks for making these vids. We just bought an EX-L Hybrid yesterday and the damn dealer seemed to know next to nothing about the car. Your video should be a training video for the dealers. But then again, most dealers only care prior to getting you to sing the contract. I learned a lot about the car that we didn't know by watching your video. I was stunned that the dealer didn't tell us about the passenger mirror camera button at the end of the turn signal lever. He just told us to turn the turn signal on. OMG... Thanks again for making this vid.
Thanks for providing this very valuable information. I own the 2015 touring model of the Accord Hybrid and love it! This video provided more information than my dealer did so I appreciate having it as a learning resource. I've been consistently getting 44-48 miles per gallon since I purchased it in July. My only gripes are that it did not come with Apple Car Play and the dealer will not offer the Siri eyes free software upgrade which was offered on the virtually identical 2014 model. It also is missing the HDMI connector which was included in the 2014 but not on the 2015 - this omission is extremely frustrating for those who want to do phone mirroring. I love the quietness in the EV mode. I also love the power at high speed on the highway. It is noisy however at mid range speeds - especially on hills.
Just purchased a 2015 accord touring hybrid and I love it! I previously owned a 2007 Prius touring which I also loved but the Accord has much more luxury and comfort. The only downside about this car is the limited cargo space that the Prius afforded me..city driving withe accord is around 50 plus mpg...very satisfied.
I love this car but wow 32 grand is a lot of money for a Honda especially when you can get a Mercedes for a few grand more. I do love that MPG and the fact it has adaptive cruise control is awesome the price tag makes me think of the payment , insurance bill, excise tax and damn if someone scratches this thing I will cry!
+Kenny Dellinger if the battery gets low for the electric motor, the car will switch itself to gas engine until the battery is back up to an optimal level to switch between the two modes again. Again this is a typical hybrid, not and ELECTRIC Plug in hybrid.
+Gearhead You may want to inform Honda that their window stickers are inaccurate. It's funny you mention that because I was planning to make a video soon about the massive amount of articles that claim that some cars do not have transmissions when ALL cars (if drive-able) have transmissions. Definition of transmission: "the mechanism by which power is transmitted from an engine to the wheels of a motor vehicle."
+MikesCarInfo it is in fact an eCVT, whereby the power is generated via the motor generator into motive power, sort of like a diesel locomotive. The only time the engine can be physically linked to the wheels is by a lock up clutch after 43MPH in direct drive mode. However it does not have a transmission in the conventional sense. No gearsets, pulleys, belts or otherwise.
I'm planning on getting this car as a college car bc of the gas mileage. because my college is in Knoxville TN and my family lives in Fayetteville Arkansas. I need to know more about the engine. like can you just turn off the ev or battery and use gas and still get the same gas mileage? or does the ev mode need to be on for that? Or since I'm getting it for the gas mileage but don't want ev mode. do I just need to go with a regular Accord? Thanks so much for answering all these questions. you do an amazing job on your reviews. thanks!!!
+Timothy Williams This isn't an EV. You just drive it like a Prius. its a hybrid. For college you need to be thinking of a used 10yr old civic. Especially up in Knoxville. Its going to get banged up good parked at all the bars and stuff.
+brianmcg321 well thanks for the advice. But, if my dad didn't insist on me getting a new car to travel 600 miles for reliability I probably would. lol
I'm seriously looking at this Hybrid for 2017 when my lease on my 2014 Prius is up.Toyota just released the 2016 Generation 4 Prius the DAMN car is ugly as hell. The only thing I don't know is is Honda going to change the body of the Accord just to keep up with Toyota

Now you can option an accord to nearly 48k!
Thank you so much
Mike! If your battery gets to low for the electric motor does the drive go to the gas engine. Also can you choose just to use the gas all the time?
+Kenny Dellinger This is a hybrid. Not an EV like a Volt with a generator.

It doesn't actually have a CVT. In fact, it doesn't have a transmission. You should research the powertrain more, it's quite an incredible system.

+Timothy Williams Well, if Dad is paying for it , get all the options.
Really nice video review...
If you use only EV mode, how many miles would you go?
Maybe like 1 mile
Hey Mike! Which brand do you prefer? Nissan or Honda
Naveen S I like Honda... I drive an Acura. I still like Nissan too.
MikesCarInfo www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/639712696/overview/ Can you do a review on this truck?
Devan6496 I'll try... I think Jud Kuhn Chevrolet has an Alpine in stock. I have some other Rocky Ridge trucks on my channel right now.

MikesCarInfo you don't actually own the car? You could've fooled me based on your expertise here
