- Welcome to the channel! Join me as I explore one of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s most iconic and breathtaking attractions, the Batu Caves! But before we dive into the caves, we kick-start our day with a delicious Malaysian breakfast staple, Nasi Lemak, to fuel up for the fun ahead.
Once we're fueled up, we hop on the LRT train, which takes us on a scenic journey to the Batu Caves. As we arrive, we're greeted by the towering limestone hills and the majestic golden statue of Lord Murugan, standing tall at the entrance.
The Batu Caves are not just any caves; they're a sacred Hindu site, housing several awe-inspiring caves and temples. We begin our adventure by climbing the 272 colorful steps leading to the Cathedral Cave. Along the way, we're surrounded by cheeky monkeys, adding an extra layer of excitement to our journey.
Upon reaching the top, we're rewarded with a panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding area, making every step worth it. Inside the Cathedral Cave, we're greeted by the sight of intricate Hindu shrines and statues, creating a serene atmosphere filled with spirituality and wonder.
So, is the Batu Caves worth visiting while in Malaysia? Absolutely! as it’s free. Was it the best place i’ve been? probably not but it’s well worth the visit.

Gday Wayne, I remember going to these caves in 1969 as a ten year old. We were living in Malaca at the time ( a place you should visit) and on a school adventure. It was in the middle of nowhere back then and the only thing there were the concrete stairs, timber planks on mud with no lights and sinkholes everywhere in the cave. If you went in too deep you probably wouldn’t make it back out alive, how it has changed. Cheers mate.
Hi Peter, thanks for sharing that . Yes, it does look a place where you could get lost .
You should try Penang, Malacca, Ipoh and if time permits, Tioman, Pangkor, Redang islands.
Hopefully one day 👍
Do not miss making a day trip to Genting Highlands mate, but be early. You'll not regret it!
Hopefully one day buddy 👍
I’m Malaysian married to Englishman. Here in Hertfordshire for 25 years! You made me laugh out loud Wayne …. Love all your videos … keep up the good work mate!
P/S my other half and boys has done this … not me matey!!! Can’t be arse hahahaha
Hi, great to hear from a Malaysian living in good ol England! Thank you for liking the vlogs. Say hello to home for me 👍
if you get time Wayne, you will love the Cameron Highlands & the beaches, jungles of Penang
Maybe one day buddy 👍
I did combine the Batu Cave with the Forest Research Institute jungle walk, near Kuala Lumpur. Both are close together. The jungle walk has a long tree top canopy walk included. At the end of the walk you come to a river and people just sit in the river with all their clothes on to cool down. When I arrived at the station, I was wondering why I see wet people although it did not rain. At the end I knew it and I loved it. You can get there by bus or by train. in 2012 the Batu cave did not have so many visitors as today, but already as many monkeys as today.
Nice one Bruno, a few people have mentioned how different the Batu Caves looked a few years ago.
Excellent day out and I would say well worth the visit. Very wary of those monkeys for sure. Great camera work mate. Thanks for sharing. 🤩
Cheers mate! Yep, got to watch out for them monkeys.
The giant statue does it for me -
Luv it
Very good train system
Thanks Wayne 😃✔️👌👋👍🙏
Yes mate, the statue gives it that wow factor 👍
I knew a few Thai ladies who "worked" in KL doing "massage". One of them worked one month solid and as many customers in one day as possible then came back to BKK to relax lol.
Yeah I can imagine it would be like that. Probably had a waiting list in Malaysia.
Excellent Vlog Wayne, well worth the climb I reckon.
Cheers David, it was worth it for sure. Can't grumble.
I will never forget all those steps and the monkeys lol. I had a good time there. Thanks for sharing!
I wasn’t expecting the Monkeys 😂. Probably the friendliest Monkeys I’ve seen though. The Caves was good, glad I went. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it Wayne. As others have said go to Malaca
Cheers buddy 👍
Going in the coach for ladies only! 😂 You sneaky Wayne! I know what you're doing, haha. 22:26
Yep, I had to move once I seen it 😂
Good on ya mate.
Nice one John 👍
Impressive cave@Brighton price-4free! Plenty of Chinese-mandarin heard here, like Pattaya Pier all following the tour guide with the little flag.Nice video thanks mate .
Pattaya was loads of flags, never seen so many as there. Cheers mate.
But , Malaysia is muslim dominant country .
Hi Wayne, thank you for sharing the videos. Happy travel, good day mate ❤❤
Thank you! 🙏
defineatley worth the climb!
Yes, was worth looking at. Can't grumble for free.
Looks like you picked the best time of day to go, much cooler and less tourists bumping around. The day we went they had a massive religious festival Thaipusam happening and it was absolutely packed sardine style. Just swarms of people packed in the heat was pretty intense. 🙈
I’m glad I went in the morning, it would have been rammed in the afternoon.
I went their about years ago to get my Non-B visa. It must have been the perfect time. The sun was shining down through the cave. It was awesome. Cheers
It does look good when the sun is shining down. It was a good place to visit.
NICE! good to see you went =)
Cheers mate 👍
Ten o seven am central daylight saving Time here, good morning Wayne.
Good morning 🌅
I think you were taking it easy on the stairs to have a right old perve 😂
Would I do a thing like that 😃
@@WalkAboutWayne classic 😂
I'd have to see that cave, but Id have to find when it is least busy, too crowded to enjoy it for me, anyway.
Really early morning would be the best time, I wish I set of a couple hours earlier.
Wayne, if you want some authentic and delicious South Indian food vegetarian go the restaurant you walked past outside of your hotel. "Saravana Bhavan". Green logo. Many locations around the world and delicous. Go for the rava masala dosa or anything !! South indian style filter coffee also really good!
I’ve been eating in those restaurants all week buddy. Great food 👍
Don't get that dreaded big gut my friend. 🤣🤣
Too late buddy 🤣
@@WalkAboutWayne 😂😂
Looks good, did you buy your little statue of the petronas towers ?
No mate, I bought a 7up instead 👍
The best Ramly Burger is in Jalan Alor, methinks.
I'll be in Jalan Alor soon.
I am guessing the litter dropped is because there are no bins to put litter in . a couple of solutions put in litter bins or charge everyone a quid to enter and employ a dozen cleaners
Yes John, I actually think they should charge a small fee for this place.
Omg Malaysia is the shopping paradise for Singaporeans 😂
Nice 👍
What kind of camera are you using? Watching from Cebu Philippines
I use a GoPro 👍. Nice, hope all is well in The Philippines 🇵🇭
@@WalkAboutWayne TY
Where’s the lift? lol
🤣 Yes I needed one.
Seen one temple seen them all couldn’t think of anything worse to do with my time
This is a Cave but I agree with what your saying mate 👍
Overhyped.
I hear you mate.
Plenty of rats with wings outside the caves Wayne 😂.
To many flying rats for my liking mate 😂
