    Watching this while laying in a hotel, 300 miles from home, working on the road. Wife struggling with Stage 4 cancer, so I do this for the money but quickly not becoming worth it.
    Time to realign.
    Thanks.

    Stellar stuff, per usual Ryan... BTW, IMHO "40" is the perfect age. I'm about to turn 67 next month, and I can assure you that an "attitude of gratitude" is key to enjoying your life. Keep 'em comin'! Godspeed!

    Not everyday will be perfect but be grateful for everyday. I'm 40 just got out of very toxic relationship, I'm a great father and I've found the secret to living a happy life and that is to fill it with great loving memories a ton memories. Memories are the only thing your taking to the grave, so make an abundance of great loving memories. That's my two cents and thats my philosophy of life. God bless.. Great video BTW

    As a man of similar age, it’s a trip to hear how different our lives are. Myself never having a wife or children, I’ve kept my circle extremely small. I have a simple life and I am thankful for it. Thanks for sharing. 👍

    Just turning 27 and having a father who is 72 you hit the nail on the head. He has told me he wishes he was there more for us growing up. He was a hard worker and a truck driver so he wasn’t home a lot and left a lot up to my mother on raising us. Now they are talking about divorce because they never had a strong marriage because it was always work work work. I needed to hear this because I don’t want my marriage to be like that.

    • @frankiegunnz8066
      @frankiegunnz8066 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm thinking of doing trucking too for more money for my son and I. You dad did what a man Is supposed to do. He busted his a$$ and provided.

    • @ravenpiece
      @ravenpiece 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@frankiegunnz8066 there is a thing called work life balance, and if all a man does is work, then he loses influence in the child's upbringing. A dad is more than some cash cow. You must be present emotionally which requires time at home, too.

    • @10565resTorahation
      @10565resTorahation 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Please do hear this. I have a marriage like your parents’, my husband is a hard worker and trucker, and we have 6 children like you. Remember, Son, your life is made up of your choices. You can be like your example, and have the same sadness, or choose the high road of love, forgiveness, and acceptance and discipline yourself to be who you authentically are.

    • @10565resTorahation
      @10565resTorahation 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I encourage you to value your dad. What you look for, you will find: He has taught you more than you realize. Stand on his shoulders, don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. Observe the pain and the good times, the choice is: be better or be bitter.

    • @10565resTorahation
      @10565resTorahation 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can be done but it takes living on purpose. My dad worked away from the family and he kept in touch with each person in the family every single day. We all still have a great relationship. I advised my husband to do this with our children, he did not nor is he completely present when home. . Being on the road, is not the issue. Being purposeful is the issue.

    Loved it. Especially the last part about being satisfied, happy and fulfilled... I can definintly see myself becoming more creative and having new ideas if I was those three things, I know my attitude changes when I am happy!! I'm going to write down those three things and incorporate them into my Prayer life and my daily thoughts. Thank you Ryan!

    Amen. As a young man I worked with many older, retirement age gentlemen who had plenty of money in the bank yet continued to show up to work, not because they wanted to. They chased the money over their family and eventually it was all they had left.

    You said you no longer are stressed about finances. That’s the reason why you’re able to focus on vacation and family. Unfortunately, balance only comes later. You, like many others, did not have balance until you experienced financial success, which then created the opportunity for balance. Had you not sacrificed balance, you would not have financial freedom and therefore would likely have a different mindset. That’s the cold reality most are not willing to accept.

    As several others have already remarked it would have been beneficial if I had heard this twenty years ago, but I learned through change as you did and I’ve come to terms with those errors and yes some were life changing but I was offered second chance and I did learn from the first mistakes that there is more to each day than what most of us believe when we are just starting out and these are elements that remain and make a difference to a persons life and feeling fulfilled

    • @quitebeautifulreally3678

      That sucks. My relationship with my father has always been estranged. I thought as I got older and took more responsibility for myself that would change. Like in a movie, there would be a happy ending with a sense of closure. But that is never going happen. Our relationship has become more strained as his health has started to fail.
