  • Thanks for stopping back guy's.. Today I went through the center diff and put in some 500k fluid to help distribute the power more evenly... This will also help reduce some heat in the center differential... ran into a slight hurdle along the way in terms of the v4 motor mount, so make sure to watch that section carefully to pick up some quick tips.. I hope you enjoy the video and I hope it will help someone down the road..
    Enjoy your day or evening guy's, see ya on the next one!....

    Great videos.. I've been watching them all as I should be receiving my Felony tomorrow... The biggest issue with this rig is the lack of rear tires!.. how can you release such a drift monster and not supply skins... Crazy. Looks like speed runs for awhile.. 🤣😂 thanks again!

      I know it, definitely doesnt seem like a good thing to release rigs to the public and at the same time have no parts supply to maintain the demand..
      I apologize for not getting back to you sooner.. I got real busy and totally forgot until today..🤦‍♂️
      🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.. ya they are my daughters, they didnt fit her, so some bonus rags went in the rc pile..🤣🤣🤣.. if it's free it's for me! 🤣🤣🤣

    Also. After putting on the differential back on. Pushing the car back makes the gear noise. When I push it forward it gets stuck. I'm not getting those gear noises like what you did. You test it back and forth

      @@JohnPopeye well you have a couple options..
      You can use a torx bit that is just bigger than the original hex size and pound it into the screw head with a hammer.. (think it's a t15) ...It will hobb its own teeth into the screw.. heat the screw with a torch and it should come out..
      Option 2 is take a Dremel with a cut off wheel and slice a slot into the screw so you can use a flat head screwdriver to remove it... Again, a lot of heat is needed to break down the Loctite...

    Nice video! I was wondering what diff fluid I should use if I like to do speed runs? Not really a drifter but I would like to be doing 90+ mph runs on this (8s conversion) and not sure what diff fluid I should run.

    • @camaroboy383
      @camaroboy383  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That question can be a slippery slope unfortunately.. depending on throttle input duration, if you have to pour in the throttle fairly quick then a lighter center diff fluid will be better for keeping the car tracking straight under heavy acceleration...
      A heavier center diff fluid allows more power to the rear, and is liable to get sideways under heavy acceleration.. driving style and space allowed all play a role in what's best for your particular application..
      If space is short, I'd say stay with 100k-300k so heavy acceleration drags the car from the front, keeping the rear in check.. but I would also use 30k-50k in the front diff so it doesn't just boil the right front tire off it..(that's what they tend to do with the factory 10k in them) This will also let you gain more speed in a shorter distance..
      If you have significant space and can pour in on the throttle more gradual, then a heavier (500k) fluid or spool can be used.. once the rig is rolling at a good clip and bit in, the heavier fluid will accelerate quicker achieving your top speed faster.. Again this can be a slippery slope my friend.. In the end fluid weight is preference, and your driving style and space allowed is the main factor.. sometimes several fluid changes are needed to hone in on a perfect pass..
      I hope this helps..👍.. thanks for watching and commenting.. Be glad to help in any way if you need.. happy street bashing..✌️

      @@camaroboy383 Thank you very much man, this did help quite a bit because I'm more heavy on the throttle, but I also have a long stretch so if I tone down my throttle I could get better results. So I try the different fluids. Thanks again!

    QUESTION. Why don't u spin it in reverse to pull it down. Is just letting sit better. And. If I'm doing mostly speed runs. Would u still recommend going higher in the diffs. Or even that high. 500 center. 30 front. And 50 rear...

    • @camaroboy383
      @camaroboy383  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For speed runs yes still increase center.. 500k would be a good start.. but I would reverse the f/r diff weights..
      thicker in the front.. lighter in the rear.. it will track more straight.. to thick in the rear, and it can break the rear of the car loose faster in my experience..👍
      Basically your looking for the front end to pull the rig if all your doing is drag racing or speed runs..
      I prefer my setup for both.. but I also have to roll the throttle in so it doesnt break loose and get sideways.. so not a good drag racing setup.. it works well for drifting and straight long pulls if there is room to roll in...✌

      🤣🤣🤣.. she has the other one...🤣🤣🤣...
      you are correct, the camber on that right front wheel was off just slightly.. but it goes deeper than that.. the way the caster is setup, (full allowable amount of positive caster from the factory) it is directly related to the camber.. at full turn the negative camber increases drastically so this is another area that I will be addressing...👍..

    • @camaroboy383
      @camaroboy383  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes its definitely possible with a good amount of force...but the heat sink on the felony and v2 infraction have retaining clips that squeeze the heck out of the sink.... mine wont move unless I pull the clip.. at that point it is way easier to pull 4 screws..👍
      Were you able to spin your heat sink on your v2 infraction / felony?
