This video goes over how to download and use Pure, as well as which filters I recommend using. I'm also sharing my own custom presets and settings that I use to make the game look as it does in my own videos. Pure is probably the best Assetto Corsa graphics mod, and it answers the question how to make Assetto Corsa look realistic. If you were wondering how to get rain in Assetto Corsa, CSP preview is the answer but in combination with Pure, it just looks so much better. @@alwaysonboostThe clouds of the Pure version, are static, do not move like the sol?
Fps killers are: new sslr reflections in extra fx and reflections more than 2 faces per frame are not necessary. Maxing them out will murder fps. (Pure author recommends a setting of 2.)
Change these and fps increase dramatically without much noticable difference. You can still max out most everything else.

Agreed, but it depends on the rig. With mine, if I turn SSLR reflections and put 2 faces per frame, I get 200 fps as opposed to ~170 with SSLR reflections and 6 faces per frame. Since my monitor is 165Hz, it really doesn't matter since I limit fps to 160 anyway for FreeSync to work. I agree that it's not a massive difference in terms of quality, but it's noticeable for me if you look at reflections, they look a little bit better. But for mid or low-end PCs, you're absolutely right :)

@@paulblack3608 Yeah, I upgraded my entire PC last year (from 1070 to 3080 and from 4790 to 12700). It more than doubled my FPS. CPU is really important for AC, just as important as the GPU almost. I did some testing, I'll have a vid soon.
wow ur comment just saved me... i had imported a preset that i really liked, but had bad FPS, i turned off SSLR reflections and it boosted my fps by alot, and it looks good anyway. thank you so much!

Really glad you liked them and I appreciate the kind words! I might have VR settings in the near future, need to get my VR delivered first but I have a bit of motion sickness so don't know if I'll be able to use it for long.... We'll see 😂

Once i turned it off it gave me very playable without headaches or eye fatigue
Could be, but tbf I only tried VR a while ago on the original Oculus Rift I believe. I'm thinking of going triples but might be swayed towards VR. Thanks for the tip, I'll check that out with a friend's VR kit and see if it's any better.

once i saw the tips about using vr and what settings to tweak ,
the motion smoothing tweak (turning it off) was night and day tweak, i can sit whole day in vr without problem
and the immersion you get in vr is insane.

Correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure you are supposed to uninstall SOL before loading up Pure. At Peter Boeses site it says to uninstall Sol first, there is even an uninstall file for sol in the folder
Hi and thanks for your informative videos. My old rig (GTX1080, i5-8600k, both overclocked) struggled a lot with CSP and Sol. Runs more stable since I changed the weather script to "default" and the controller script to "Sol 2.0" instead of "Sol 2.4". Strange thing is: System often crashed without a peak in temperature on the CPU or GPU, so I'm not really sure what caused the instability. The crashes only occured on weather settings with a lot of clouds and/or rain like "Broken Clouds", "Heavy Rain".
Do you think it makes sense for me to try out Pure or would that be even harder for the hardware?
Yes, Pure might be the same as SOL but that's probably because of your overclocks, not because of temp issues. I also overclocked my 3080 and it ran everything, but every time I opened Apex Legends it would randomly crashed. I figured it was the overclock and returned it back to stock so it doesn't crash with Apex.
@@alwaysonboost thanks a lot. Tried out Pure and it seems to run a bit more stable and looks great. Maybe the issues are also caused by CPU overclocking? Have to run some more tests. Running the PP filter on very high while tuning down reflections, shadows and other stuff a bit seems to help also. Thanks again and happy racing!
Yep, probably because of overclocks. If they're not completely stable it can crash. Enjoy racing as well!

Can't I just drag and drop pure or sol into contents manager?
@@brelfpv1437 A lot of mods won't work if you install them that way because of their folder structure inside (depends how the modder packaged them). The way I show you they'll work correctly because you'll install them properly every time :)
@@alwaysonboost Thank you. I reinstalled Sol and Pure, but No matter what, the reflection setting of the video configuration is always static in the Pure config..
VAO: The latest Pure doesn't have the Vao Patch files. Don't worry if you don't have them, you can just skip that part.
PURE CONFIG: If you don't see Pure config when in-game on the right hand side in your apps, go to Content Manager->Settings->Assetto Corsa->Apps, and select both Enable Python apps and Developer Apps. If that doesn't work, reinstall Pure, close CM, and relaunch the game to see if it fixes it.

My Assetto Corsa lasted only a month. There is no customer support, they have your money and you're screwed.
Great tutorial, but i got a proble: whenever i hop into the track, the games is good looking but it looks like the sky is completely covered in grey, like a giant rainy cloud but my sol setting is set to clear. I've tested multiple PpFilters and other settings but it doesnt change. Any idea on how to fix it?
Try changing the weather and controller script in Content Manager both to SOL to see if that solves it. If it does, then change the weather script to Pure and see if it does it again. If it does, reinstall Pure and try that.

7:48 Hey brother, great video, but no matter what I do I'm not able to reproduce this look - specifically with RainFX. I am on 0.1.80 Preview 218, and have used your settings the config file. However, my rain only accumulates near the track edge, and not actually anywhere on the track like in this part of the video. Am I doing something wrong?
Hey, sorry for the late reply. You're not doing anything wrong, but if you're using a modded track, some won't work. The default Kunos tracks (most of them) will have puddles and water accumulate like in the video, but some downloaded ones won't.

Hello! Thank you for the tutorial, my game looked amazing until i installed vao patches which made most maps look like its evening all the time and some maps have green lightning during night. could you know the cause ?
Which filter and presets do you use? Mine? Try deleting the vao patches and see if it looks okay. They're not necessary so you don't necessarily need them. There's a new CSP and Pure version (after I filmed this video), so there might be an issue with that and they'll sort it out soon.

Just remove the patches then. There's a lot of updates going on at the moment since a new version of CSP just dropped and the creator of Pure is updating Pure all the time. I suggest following with the updates and always try to have the latest version installed.

Your setting is amazing but it killed my fps (3080) I had to drop from 21 cars on track to 12 cars and drop your settings a touch to get 60 fps. Can’t complain because it looks beautiful.
Really? Online servers or driving with AI? I have a 3080 too and get at least 100 fps even in most online lobbies. What CPU are you running? Usually the CPU can kill fps if it's weaker, especially with AI. But I'm glad you liked the graphics 😄
@@alwaysonboost Sorry. I didn't try it online. It was an offline race. I do alot offline races too, so I was trying to get it to work both online & offline. Also I think my CPU is a little worst than yours. Anyway I'm keeping your settings, it's the best I have come across. Thank you.
Yeah, CPU is the real bottleneck when working with AI cars. I'll also lose like 30% of fps or more with a ton of AI cars in offline driving. Just reduce some settings from like ultra/high to mid, you won't notice a ton of visual loss but you'll gain fps. It's Pure doing most of the work anyway, so dropping down some settings from Video settings in CM won't be a big deal. Glad you like the settings tho!

@@gatorhighlights4 Do you like drifting or normal racing/driving? If you like drifting, I recommend the VDC public car pack, ACDFR, and DCGP. These are professional drift cars, so they're hard to drive. If you want easier street cars, get the WDT street pack which is great to learn on. There's like a hundred more tho. I planned to do a video on the best car packs, would this be something you'd watch?

Hey man great tutorial, the thing is I have followed all your steps but when i am in game when i pull up the menu from the right hand side there is no Post Process filter option there from all the options??
Hmm that's weird. Try resetting CSP and Video settings back to default and see how it goes. You can also change the PP filter from the Video settings inside Content Manager. If nothing works delete CM and try downloading it again.

I can assure you nothing will die hahah. You'll have a bit less FPS but that's all, and you can always uninstall it or choose not to use it if you don't like it.

Great video - for some reason everything is very dark at night for me, headlights are on but looks like light is not being emitted from them. Does this work fine for you at night?
It does yes. There's a way to increase emitted light but I'm not home, I'm on a small holiday vacation at the moment. I'll reply back once I'm home. I believe the setting was somewhere in the SOL planners/configs from in-game and you can basically increase light emitted.

With Pure you can have rainy graphics while its sunny for more REALISM
Yep, that's the great thing. You can adjust to make it sunny but drizzling for instance. It's amazing.

Hey there! So you can just disable Pure if you're having issues or just delete/reinstall it since my SPR graphics are just based on Pure. This is an older tutorial hence why you might be having issues as the latest Pure is a bit different. I'll release a new updated video soon :)

It's from the VDC Public Car Pack 3.0. Just type in VDC Assetto Corsa on Google, you can find their download links on their Facebook page i believe.

It's called KirbyCam (you can find it on Racedepartment) but I use my own settings for it. I'm almost done with a video on that, explaining how to install it and configure it. Expect it in a week or so 😄

press f1 or whatever bind it is for it! look in settings
The rain isn't puddling up on the track like yours is
If you're testing it on a track mod, it might not work if the track isn't designed for it. Try a default Kunos track, it should work :)

Amazing tutorial but I would like to ask if I have to pay monthly for pure or can I buy it once and cancel the subscription. Probably won't have the updates though.
Yep, you got it first try. You can cancel but you won't have updates afterwards. The guy running the Patreon (Peter) has regular updates like once a month or something like that (and usually after every new CSP version to make it compatible), so for me it's more than worth it to stay subscribed.

How do you make the rain fall into puddles on the track like that? I followed the guide thoroughly and have all your configs settings.
Only some tracks have that. For instance most default Kunos tracks behave like that, but not all modded tracks do.
Awesome tuto thanks! My only problem is that since I installed your presets, I can no longer use my mouse to look around when i'm in the pilot view. It's strange cause before that, I was working perfectly.. Any idea?
Make sure NeckFX in Content Manager is enabled.

No need for that, the latest versions don't have it since it works differently now. Just enjoy Pure without worrying. Glad you like the vids!
How do i disable your settings after i installed them?
To remove the CSP settings and set them to default: go to csp in settings, and then click about & updates, and then press reinstall current version.
To remove the Pure config preset, go in game, open the Pure Config, from the Main menu click reset to default (reset Pure) and then just click save since that will override the file with my preset. That's it :)

The creator of Pure changed that and tweaked the way it works. Don't worry about it too much, they're no longer needed.

I'm guessing you have CSP preview installed? If you don't, you need to download it. Watch my complete AC tutorial to see how. You'll need to subscribe to x4fab's Patreon page and get it from there, it isn't free but you can sub for like $1 a month.

hi i just downloaded the latest pure version but there is no baked vaos folder like you show here. Are they already included inside the other folders maybe?
Possibly, might have to read the newest patch notes but I'm away from home at the moment. Don't worry if you don't have them, they're either built-in or are defunct/made to work with the regular files. Enjoy Pure :)

Hello ! Thanks for that but I have a question. I have set the rendering frequency to Six faces per frame, but Pure telle me that it's still on static. tested to réinstall the game ect, nothing work ... any idea ?

hello, for some reason i cant change the post-processing filter to pure or pure candy i dont have those options.

It will yes, but depending on your PC you might want to turn down some settings in CSP or in Video Settings. Unless you have like a 4090 or a 4080, you'll need to turn down some settings to get 90+ fps for VR. Again, this depends on your PC and your VR device.

Hi, maybe a dumb question but do you have to keep paying every month to keep using pure or is it a one time payment?
you will be stuck with the currently installed version as you'll loose access to patreon to dowload the new version.
I am running a 5700XT and i7 9700K at your settings + turning off SSLR reflections and 2 faces per frame as I wanted most fps but I still am getting sub 60. In between 50-60fps, I tried to turn down the post processing quality to very high, then high but seems FPS gets even worse when it turns those down. Drops to 40's. I mainly play on official SRP servers and was using that as a benchmark. Any ideas on what else I can turn down to gain FPS?
What sort of FPS were you getting before you installed Pure? Unfortunately SRP online lobbies are FPS killers because of AI traffic, the CPU is the bottleneck usually, your CPU is slightly bottlenecking your GPU I believe.
If you're getting good FPS in solo practice or with just a few cars but FPS is horrible in SRP servers, your CPU can't keep up. I'll have a vid on optimization soon tho so that might help a bit but not massively.
When I open the file selector for the installation, I can't find the AC folder, the whole section which houses it does not show up. How do I fix that?

So quick question, how do you create a pure config preset? I config every video setting in-game with the shortcut of pure config and I want to save it and send it to my friend, how do I do that? Sure thing. When you click save in Pure in-game, the actual file saves in: assettocorsa\extension\config-ext\Pure\pure_config.ini
That's the file you want to send to your friend!

@@samay_who Yep, that's why I said to back it up if you already have one since it will overwrite yours. If you wanna try new configs, what I do is i rename the old one(for instance add a 1 to the end of the name) so that it doesn't overwrite. Then I can always go back to it. Or you can also copy it somewhere else on your PC so you have a backup.

I think it was an issue with Pure and that version with some PCs. The latest one should be okay now.

Which version of CSP and SOL are you using? Try setting weather and controller script to SOL to see if it works, then try setting Pure again.
was the vaos folder removed? in pure 1.6.5 i dont see that folder anymore
Yes, it no longer comes with Pure so don't worry about it :)
