Sadly though, what I have seen is a certain arrogance with other members of my family who seem to still see no immediate urgency to "get the hell out fast". The truth is they value money and possessions over the wellbeing of their children. They value their own personal comfort, and love living in a nice house with a maid and a swimming pool. They would rather put their children at risk than leave their comfort zone. So they live in a bubble, they turn off the news and live behind high walls and security systems and purposely and willingly avoid listening to or hearing any news.
I've heard such things as "I couldn't live without a maid" and "Oh shame, you have to do your own garden work" and "No that country is too cold for me" and "What live in an old house or a small flat? No thanks, there's crime everywhere".
I've also heard people say "I love South Africa and I'll never leave", then I've heard people saying "God will protect us".
I wonder how many of those murdered on farms believed Psalm 91 was their protection? I say if anyone can leave South Africa and yet willingly stays there, and knowingly puts their kids at risk and not looking out for their future then they themselves are to blame for any ill-fortune their kids suffer.
This is one primary role of a parent to sacrifice for your kids.

My journey as a South African will soon come to an end. In roughly 6 weeks I will no longer be a South African citizen. I'm not that sad, the country for me personally hasn't been the same since Mbeki and it's just getting worse.
So many people just turn a blind eye to all those farm murders, so many genocide deniers. So many horrific deaths.
My advice to anyone still left in South Africa - try your very best to find a safer country. The rainbow nation is a farce, and white people there are targeted, and the world is somehow conditioned to pretend it's not happening, so trust yourself and your instincts and help yourself before it's too late.
