I'm ordering mine today after "kicking it around" for over a year. I'm in the middle of a dana 60 swap in my 96 f250 SCLB and after seeing this video, it just makes sense to go ahead and do it all at once.
@@calebames6842 I bought the Sky 2" RSK and it installed perfectly. I wanted a 6" lift or so, so I added a rough country 4" lift kit while I was installing the d60. My truck ended up over 10.5 inches taller in the front with all the new parts compared to the worn out f250 stuff. I had to buy 6" rear springs and 4" blocks for the rear to level it out. I bought a pmf adjustable track bar and the pmf extended brake line kit from cpaddict too. Hope to have it on the road on the next few weekends
@@calebames6842 I really didn't want more than the 6" of lift though. I'll likely end up removing the lift springs to bring it back down some. It's got 37 inch boggers now that look a little too small honestly with the current set up.
@@CompletePerformance I have a 97 f250 with ttb currently. I have an 04 dana 60 already with the springs from the 04 as well. What do i need to do to make this all work out with a sky and not have any lift besides leveling it. Are the 04 spring bolts the same size? What u bolts do i need etc. Any help would be sweet as I've never done one before. I am no stranger to building engines and air bagging cars but never done a pickup before.
The shackle in front of the axle is cheaper than behind because of a having a stiffer frame horn. The stiffness is because the axle wants to move towards the back on the truck when hitting a bump while the front shackles require the axle to move to the front. Before 1980 the front leafs on Fords were mounted with the shackle to the rear.
@@ashtonmariefranklin1981 noob here, but I also have a 97 250HD 460 4x4 i've been considering this on, not looking for lift so much as better ride, are TTB and IFS terms for the same Dana 50 axle? and if not is this a suitable install on the IFS when planning to use the stock 2 leaf spring pack that came on the 97 250HDs?
Interested in how much spring sag you had before you installed the kit. I just got a 96 F 250HD extended cab 4x4 and my pointer finger fits between the top of the spring and the bump stop all the way up my fingernail on the driver's side. Two fingers on the passengers side.
I know I have to buy a drop bracket for ttb if this is done on a 250 and the drop size goes up with different springs but I don't know the exact size for what I want. I want to do a super duty leveling spring in the front, not the stock super duty front spring. Do you know what size the drop bracket has to be?
If you do an sd rsk you can do a 2 or a 4 so if you do that plus a sd level kit you add them up. so a 2 inch rsk plus a 2 inch level kit gets you 4. if you want 4 id go for the 4 inch rsk over doing a level kit as well. Its cheaper and will ride better
I am really interested in what you are going to be doing to you Super Duty with 17,000 miles because I just bought a Super Duty for my Bee business and it is going to see probably about 60/40 pavement/off road use. If I can remember over the weekend after I make the purchase I will send you some pics of Franken Ford. This dude is a beast. Old school all the way. He is definately a mans truck.
It all depends on what you are used to but being able to quickly raise and lower the truck onto the axle is nice but Ive done similar on a jack and stands so it's certainly not impossible
Great video. Question. I have an 97 f250 I put a dana60 underneath from an f350 donor truck, will the original f350 leaf springs work with this kit? Thanks
Here’s what I have… 97 f250 7.3 2x4 short bed. I want to lift the front cause it’s sitting LOW. Can I do the RSK? Not sure if the 4x4 is different. I want smooth ride, leveled out truck. Your truck is bad AZZ by the way!
Gorgeous truck. I just got into doing research about these obs's and curious if the reverse shackle would work on the 05+ superduty axle conversion or is it a whole different setup when you convert it over?

Ford did it that way because they used the same springs and shackles on the TTB. That's why the fonts swivel side to side. Also the reason the solid axle has a track bar.
It's just like factory adding the shackle to the rear changes it obviously so that is the reason for the length of the front bracket to get caster and your pinion angle back into spec
If you still respond to these I've got a 93 f250 with the TTB IFS and I believe I also have front springs would that also work for that particular truck as well
I've got a LOT invested into my lift, but I want to do a shackle flip. At the end of the day I don't want to end up looking like a Carolina butt-dart. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Otherwise I suppose I'll figure something out.
So do you still run that truck without the front sway bar or did you end up modifying the bolt as you said to make it fit? I bought the kit from you a while back but haven't put the front sway bar back on since (but I don't drive it much)

"works" the reverse arch of the leaf springs pulls the shackle backwards with the movement of the impact inertia... the biggest problem with this setup, is alot of bounce and its inherently rough ride... the other reason is, the frame is higher up front, lower in the back... so of course you cant put the shackle in back to have any hope of normal people wanting a fair step up into a new truck, it would be to high

I did a shackle reversal on my 97 f350 and it still rode like an f350.
Is it possible to do the shackle reverse without raising the rig?
Unfortunately no, minimum height is 2 inches this allows all the factory geometry to stay intact while moving the shackle to the rear.
