I'm 68 yrs old have over 1000 cd listen to all kinds of music from John Denver to Black Sabbath n I just say Little Girl is one of my favorite songs . Nothing that is out today can match it !!!! Thanks Barry B.
I'm I'm also 68 . I grew up in the 60s in California . What a great time for music. We had it all. Could not turn on the radio without hearing a great record. Between my brother and sister in-law there wasn't a record out there we didn't have. Most music today sucks.thank heaven for CDs.
This angry song really put garage bands on the map. The composers of the Brill Building in New York really define the early 60s. Ellie Greenwich, Phil Spector, Barry Mann, Leiber and Stoller, Boyce and Hart. Their street-smart tear-jerkers gave us 60s people a new perspective about romance. Not so easy, as we would like.
Always loved this song and now it sounds better! The Syndicate of Sound played at my San Jose high school's first dance of the year, 1966. I thought their covers of some Beatles songs were better than the original! I still remember, "You're gonna lose that girl" as being one.
Little Girl, Psychotic Reaction, 96 Tears, I Fought the Law....all came out in 1966 and what I consider without a doubt, some the best one hit wonder songs ever..
Beautifully done enhancement! Especially for old geezers who were there when the song first came out and who now have to wear headphones to truly enjoy it. Your site rocks!
Syndicate of Sounds Little Girl is like the 1965 Mustang Fastback, both will live on forever........ P.S. I have a 65 mustang Fastback and found an original 45 of little girl.
I was a kid in the 60's too. I was also a drummer then and at a time when if you wanted to join a garage band your audition was simple: “Can you play wipe out?” Any guitarist hopeful was expected to cover "Pipe Line." And no one had ever covered the Beach Boys and no one ever will. The better bands played this song that I had heard on AM radio as that kid, as well as re-mixes or other enhancements in the digital domain. Until now I’ve never heard the rhythm guitar work so distinct as I’ve heard here. Actually impressive guitar work even by today’s standards, whatever those are anymore. Thanks for the vid.
You're sure right about having to play surf music back in the early '60s. After that every garage band had to learn The Shadows of Knight version of "Gloria."
@@andyinoregon Hey Andy. A correction here. There is a pro band out there called "The Fendertones." Close your eyes and it is the Beach Boys. But it takes a bunch of vocalists to do it. The Beach Boys needed only five. The thing that made their sound so unique was the timbre of the voices themselves. Someone can sing the notes, but it's not the same. The Fendertones have that covered, but it takes a duet to truly capture Brian's voice. Check 'em out right here.
@@robertmiller5217 So right, Robert.. I discovered The Fendertones on YT 10 years ago and their pain-staking recreations of The Beach Boys' recordings are sonic heaven.
One of my favorite songs from my youth in the sixties. I heard it for the first time in the beginning of 1966. It reached nr.19 in the Top 40 in the Netherlands and stayed there for 8 weeks. That crisp and clear sound of the guitars and I like the arrogant voice of the singer. That's exactly how I felt when I once was rejected ;-) ==>> "It's all over for you, hahaha"
This band was very popular in the San Francisco Bay Area in the late 60's/early 70's, and was frequently booked for high school dances and proms, such as at my alma mater, Mills High in Millbrae, California.
I was a senior (1966) in high school at Wichita, Ks. East High. Got this music, I seemed to stretch at that age in to the what I thought was music that made sense to me and could rock my ass off in my bedroom where my stereo was. First album bought: The Surfs and Pipeline, Second Album Bought: Rave it Up With Yardbirds (I still have it today 2020), Third albumL: They Byrds Turn Turn, their is a season. Then came Eric Burden and the Animals.....throughout his career, most of his songs paralled my life. Anyway I could go on, and on but hey the The Lovin Spool, Classics 4, Roy Orbison, The Association, and on and on. The Zombies, Paul Revere and the Raiders, and yes the Beach Boys.
this is what the 60s really sounded like...as a 6 year old in the back seat of a '65 impala convertible listening to the middle seat speaker en route to the beach....I can feel the sand between my toes
Nice job! Really nice job on this classic rocker. I remember walking down the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, where they always blasted music, back when this was released.
Absolutely LOVE this oldies song!!!! I was a kid in the 60's too!!! If you were a kid then, maybe you remember a British Invasion Band called The Searchers? Any chance of working on "Needles & Pins" -- or is that as perfect as it needs to be?? I'm a Chris Curtis (RIP) Fan. He was their drummer and did the beautiful high harmony in their music thru 1966. Thank you, Sir, for all the work you put into your music and videos. Cheri B.
Kenn, thanks so much for re-engineering these original recordings. I took lessons from original guitarist Larry Ray, who is on this recording. Our 1960s band plays many of your enhanced tracks, and I have really enjoyed playing along with them.
After listening and living this song for decades, it suddenly occurs to me that one doesn't need to be a brilliant vocalist to perform the lyrics. There's absolutely no actual singing or real phrasing involved, but excellent and unforgettable nonetheless!
AS SOON AS MY HUSBAND HEARED THIS ON THE RADIO HE RAN DOWN TO NATIONAL RECORD MART BEFORE THEY CLOSED FOR THE DAY AND PURCHASED IT. THEN HE PLAYED IT OVER AND OVER THAT NIGHT!

This song is a one hit wonder, and it's one of the greatest rock and roll songs ever.

To be part of Rock And Roll History you do not need a lot of hits . You just need that one MEGA HIT........welcome to the club.
It is not rock 'n' roll it is music from the sixties! When Elvis went into the army in 1958..........
This song is ungodly ear candy!!!THANKS!!!!!

I hear this and I'm 12 again, listening to my transistor radio on the beach at the lake. Thanks for the enhancement! Sounds great!

This song is just effing flawless.

WOW!!! What PUNCH and CLARITY!
Our teenage garage band did a great job with this song.
Love the high spirited intensity of the instruments in this song! Lead vocalist has an air of Bob Dylan.
I'm hearing instrumentation I was never conscious of on the original. Great job !
