Black Jimmy Neutron! You are my current TH-cam hero. I’ve been a Gen 3 (2011) owner since it was new and I am an avid outdoors person. I had no idea how incredibly versatile these cars are until I found your content! Tons of inspiration. Quick question , did you do the 2 inch spacer in the rear in addition to the heavy duty springs, or just the springs on their own? It seems like 4-5 inch lift in the rear(depending on tire) would be quite a lot if not weighed down.
I have a friend who camps in his Prius and I think that's cool because I knew there were lift kits for these. I made a video about that and you were recommended to me so stopping by to say hi. I'm enjoying seeing what you guys are doing and I also say you featured on FLORB
the thing is... I'm OVERLANDING. :) PRIUSOVERLANDING.com where we do more than just OFFROAD a PRIUS... you won't see anyone with OFFROAD parts go the places I go with PRIUSOVERLANDING.com parts. Heh... I didn't see my car anywhere on your video unfortunately...
@@blackjmyntrn I'm going to do another video on the Prius and I'll show your car. Didn't know about you then you were recommend to me on youtube after I made a video about Priuses. The algorithm recommended you. I had no idea you can keep the car on and run the heater and AC and barely use fuel. If my channel hits 20K subscribers I'm going to do a Prius lifted Prius build as a summer camper. I shared your channel to my buddy with a Prius wanting to do what you're doing. You have the best PRius build Ive seen in the last few days I been studying them.
I've been doing my trips for 8 years now in my self built Transit. But the Prius platform has a bunch of possibilities as you have demonstrated. BTW - how much does the rig weight - ALL In ? ( full gas/water/you/food - everything!) My best guess will be around 5k lbs...
Only in America Because in at least some countries in Europe, your insurance company will send you a death warrant if you even query them about such a mod.
@@blackjmyntrnit's just them being money grubbing A-holes even if I had a genuine need to not have the rear sag and scrape with passengers in the rear on a modest back road. My insurance basically threatened to cancel my 10 year no claims bonus, which means the annual premium going from €750 to €2400 . Makes me wish I didn't buy the lift kit before hand... That's what we get for not having a public option . I've always wondered how Boyracers(Tuners/Ricers) modded their VW Passats and turns out they either don't insure, pay for a specialist insurer, or know a friend who can convert the car back to stock before anyone gets wise to them
@@toyotaprius79 WOW!!! This all hurts to hear... you would think eventually a Hoonigan would turn Politician and change the laws over there. I know I would've tried to so that and make a change. Sending positive energies of good change your way!
