Hi 61naga. The transmissions changed over the years, but not by model. That said, I believe the shift cam assembly is essentially the same for the GS as the RS.
Hi, I have a 1974 BMW R90/6. I have a problem with the neutral lamp. The switch under the gearbox is new, the light is green, both in gear and neutral. Where can I look for the error? Mvg Gilbert
Gilbert, Be sure you installed the gasket ring (part# 61 31 1 355 262). I would verify that the switch is not defective. I would remove it. Then I would attach an Ohm meter to the leads. I would push the plunger in and out to verify that the switch opens (infinite Ohms) and closes (0 Ohms).
Well done. It’s amazing how simple these assemblies are out of the bike.
Hi Peter. Yes, it's not too complicated, but I must say, it's a clever use of springs, cams and levers to achieve the function.
Muchas gracias....

Sir this is a very informative video. Is this transmission the same R 100 GS has? Thanks!
