I've watched a few of your videos so far. A friend is refurbishing my R100GS trans and, oh boy, these videos really help in understanding what he is telling me. Gold.

I have a 2015 R Nine T and I'm looking for an R100 project. In the meantime, I'm absolutely *DEVOURING* these videos - top quality stuff!!!

Hi Barron, Well, I hope you find an R100 and join the airhead contingent. :-). I fold my 2004 R1150RS last year. I put 110,000 miles on it and enjoyed it, but the airheads I have rebuilt keep calling to me more than the newer iron.

    Great Videos!
You think this will work with a smaller 6 to Press?

Hi Brooke. Thanks for the vid. Does your friend Bill sell the bearing tool kit or would he sell the drawings for a one off fabrication I can organise myself.

SuperNova, Bill is not making the tools as a business. I do have dimensions for them on my Flickr picture site:

Hi Brook. The Drawings are fantastic. I sent you a couple of questions on the site. Cheers

Nice job! I do have a question about the end float (which is likely covered later...).
Would it not be OK to measure the “assembled” length of the entire shaft BEFORE disassembly and then after reassembly - and use that data to calculate the required shims to set the end float?

      Hi Peter,
The end float is covered briefly in the Assembly vidoe, and in great detail in the Assembly documentation that I put a link to in the video introduction.
It's not just the shaft length, it's also the bearing pockets in the case and cover, and the gasket thickness that have to be accounted for. The reliable method is the one I show.
      I hope that helps.
