Hello Dan, Eric here, If the holes need to be reamed that is a sign of something else going on. However.... it is not abnormal - a simple issue with anchor bolts being 1/4 - 1/2" off can lead to some difficulty with laps - so it's a consideration of what is easier to do. Most people, even seasoned erectors, can miss minor deviations with bolts, squarness/plumbness of the building, etc... and not catch it until they are flying purlins - at that point - reaming purlin slots is a lot easier than taking the steel down to ream or slot somewhere else. Correct flange lapping and the use of a spud wrench should minimize this. If the holes have to be drilled or moved - it's a good idea to stop work and figure out the root cause - Calling construction support is probably a good idea at that point as well. Thanks
Nice video. The modulation you talked about is solved easily by securing a tape measure to the first rib. Then you eye on the other side to match. Helps me stay efficient anyway.
You need a complete beginning to end constitution video. There alot of information, visual reference that is missed with these short videos. My building is coming from you guys and I really need more info. There really needs to be a very detailed video on exactly how to do everything from start to finish without these quick rambling videos. PLEASE
I'm looking at them for my building. Did you look at other Steel Vendors and why did you choose them? I'm looking at doing a 40 x 50 x 16 or 40 x 60 x 16. Any information would be great for me at this point.....thanks Mark
