What about fitment in a 14 MINI F56S? I'm guessing no since we have the integrated oil level and other diagnostic crap, but grasping for a yes on some unit eventually.
Pull off the radio bezel and break out your tape measure.
I like how you go through the nuisances of these radios. Nothing worse than buying and something prevents it doing what you expect it to. Such as software limitations.

Really want the capacitive touch of the 5500 series but, can't stand a lack of physical buttons. When in a vehicle that has a stereo without physical buttons or knobs, it really distracts you from the road to do simple things like adjust the volume. And I don't care for steering wheel controls.
Hey I am gonna take a DMH-c2500 or 2550nex 6.8 and using that 30pin wire that connects the screen to the chassis make a custom Y splitter wire and connect in a second larger screen from the DMH-c5500nex. So I have 6.8 in my standard double din spot and a larger 8” screen on pass. Side in my airbag spot. I really think it would work. They all use same 30pin chassis to screen cable and basically run the same brain unit setup.

Just installed the DMH-C2500NEX it’s pretty good I like how it sounds & looks don’t really use CarPlay that much just for Apple Maps really

Question. I'm now learning about car stereos. What is this stereo missing by not being "double din" ? Do double din radios usual come an amplifier that helps with sound quality? Does this stereo miss out on that because it's only 1din or whatever? I'm considering it but it just seems so different from the other stereos in have in my Amazon cart even though it's seems to be the best.

I'll never buy another radio that doesn't have wireless AA. Or I'll just ditch them altogether. I've been through so many USB cables-yes they were all cables supplied by manufacturer of phone, plus replacements from them. Just flat out doesn't matter. they don't hold up. Whatever it is,. They need to fix it. I won't waste my money and this or any other unit. Yea it's cool, but no wireless , and even no HD screen, no thank you. If smartphones can put all that technology in that tiny of a space , no reason they can't. Tired of getting nickel and dimed with the slow to catch up technology that's honestly way behind. Got a buddy who owns a car stereo shop, we are just gonna throw a tablet on my truck and have all the bells and whistles

I had just had one of many daily battles with my USB so was a little ticked off lol. Some days it doesnt give me issues , some days It won't stay connected to save my life. Then have to go through the whole process of uninstalling and reinstalling and this and that and it just makes me want to go back to strictly CDs. Sometimes it's such an elaborate situation with car audio these days and having to worry about wire and bitrate and streaming and on and on, it sounds so nice to just to pop in a CD , know it's the best quality , and just enjoy your music

Can this be installed as a single din radio? Also is the screen depth adjustable? I was wanting to get this model for my 91 caprice.
No, as stated in the video this is a Double DIN stereo. You can also tell just from looking at the product, the screen is clearly a Double DIN display, so it'd be impossible to install in a single din opening which is only 2" in height. Not exactly sure what you mean by adjustable depth.
Just use a different shaped bracket, I think it could be done. I would cut two thin pieces of aluminum sheet in an L shape to the length needed to recess the brain box into the single din slot and screw the screens rear panel to it centered.

You can wire rear speakers to any headunit yes. And this stereo features high pass crossover settings for speakers
You can mount the brain anywhere you want as long as it's 5ft cable will reach 🤔, I guess the trunk is out 😂. Thought we got past these silly radios with brain boxes back in the early 2k's ? We keep back tracking I'm gonna have to dig out my Poison Open up and say ahh cassette.

Is the dmh-1500nex pretty much the same but without HD radio? Specs wise I really dont use radio so no need for HD radio and it's like 70 bucks more

@@Qualitymobilevideo No I dont. This comes with brackets to mount into a double din slot. I have a 2006 Nissan Xterra. Looking at other videos I dont need anything that the brackets that hold my current double din stereo.

@@CORZER0 I bought the DMH C2550 NEX for the 79 camaro I'm resto modding and I have to loose the AC vents in the center dash to install this thing, LOL. You can just about put any stereo into any car with enough fabrication, hahaha.

What is the difference besides screen size/Modular display in these models and AVH-2550NEX series? I'm swapping from a Kenwood DMX905S to one of these. The AVH-2550NEX or the DMH-C2550NEX. Beyond what was discussed in this video.
AVH has the rear connections built in, the C2550 uses the AV pigtail harness. AVH is navigation compatible with the AVIC-U280. The AVH can play CD's and DVD's but C2550 cannot. That's about it
Quality Mobile Video Thank you! Can I ask a technical question. If HD Radio blend is turned off on a weak HD radio station, will the HU switch to pulling in the RDS data instead? I have the DEH-X8800BHS and it will do this.
The only thing different is the screen can be placed somewhere else you still going to mess with all the wiring nothing changed really.. Still got to rip apart the dash...
But you have all that extra space where the unit would have been directly behind the screen..
I'll stick to my double screen SOUNDSTREAM

@@markhill4366 it's cool... I like the fact that it's a double screen that you can make it into one screen and just go back to a single screen and it helps with the GPS and your music on one or the other
