If you don't put type 055 as No.1, meaning you either have zero common sense of how mordern naval warfare goes, or you are just a totally not objective military channel
I feel rankings like this are usually misleading in assumption that those destroyers are having a 1-1 battle. In fact, those destroyers are unlikely to act by themselves in a real battle.

@@dipayansaha4101 .....If I'm a buyer, I'll choose Renhai (Type 055) because all biases aside, it's the most gorgeous ship I've ever seen. No one can deny me that. And it's also a cruiser sized with large modules ready to be improved.
Vishakapatnam is also an interesting choice for me, but I want a bigger Vishakapatnam, a cruiser sized before I can decide. But if you ask me between 052D and Vishakapatnam, I'll choose the latter.
Anyway, biases aside, I would love to see more newer ships from Asia. Hope ASEAN can make its own version of destroyers.

A far cry from the leftover WWII Tin Can I resided on back in the '60s when we were still trying to figure what a drone was.
Type055 has the most powerful firepower which 112 the biggest missile silos that can hold 448 missiles and the most advanced radar which the only warship in the world has an integrated radio frequency system. The tonnage and stealth performance is second. Type055 overall performance far exceeds Zumwalt and Arleigh Burke Class and junk Sejong the Grea.

Sejong is a larger version of Burk, same VLS, radar and most weapons, Zumwalt is an experimental failure and it’s more a land attack platform not destroyer with strong ASW. All three use single band 4.3 meter radar and old SM2 or 6 missiles. Older Burk radar is passive, only new block 2A and yet to commission block 3 have active array radar, I don’t know which Sejong has. How can these be better than 055 dual band 5 meter active array radar, larger size VLS and hypersonic missiles? I get you don’t want to be politically incorrect to praise Chinese, I suggest you should just omit both Russian and Chinese in your review instead of technically bias.
Type 055 has 112 VLS cells, whilst the Sejong the Great Class has 128 VLS cells, making it the most heavily armed warship bar the Russian Kirov class battlecruisers. At least get your facts right dude.

Burke Flight IIA and Burke Flight III have the new AN/SPY-6 radar. Those are definitely better than the Type 346 radar used on Chinese Type 055. Even the older AN/SPY-1D is a bit better. Type 346B radar is comparable to UK's Type 45 SAMPSON and S1850M radar in terms of detection range. While Burke only has 96 VLS cells, the missiles that they carry are dual/triple purpose. Take for example Tomahawk can target both land and sea targets at long range. Type 055 has separate missiles for that. CJ-10 for long range land attack, YJ-18 for short range anti-ship, and YJ-21 for long range anti-ship. There is also SM-6 for both ballistic and air defense, but can also target land and sea at short range. Type 55's HHH-9 is only for air defense.

I am not sure the Zumwalt should even be on the list, and certainly not at #1. It was a total failure that was over budget by 200% and failed to meet its capabilities.

The Zumwalt class is a failed experiment, not combat-effective at all .The Arleigh Burke class is 40 years old and its performance is outdated！King Sejong class cannot be invisible in front of radar，So the strongest battleship is the 055 type！

The Zumwalt may be the most technologically advance ship in the list but it definitely not the most powerful.
It has been a disaster for them so far.

The largest problem being technological immaturity, they fitted to much untested new technologies into it causing price overflow, unexpected systematic issues etc

All in all, the firepower of the Zumwalt places it as a top tier, but its survival ability is dismal and nothing like WWII destroyers.

What is that comment about WW2 ships?? Modern warfare is completely different so ofc the tools employed are completely different. A modern ship doesn't need to be able to take a hit as in general not getting hit in the first place is far more effective

Because she is classified as a Zumwalt-class destroyer, not a Zumwalt-class cruiser, regardless of what you think? In naval terminology, a destroyer is a fast, maneuverable, long-endurance warship intended to escort larger vessels in a fleet, convoy or battle group and defend them against powerful short range attackers. There is nothing said anywhere about displacement or armament.

I could be wrong, but perhaps what he is thinking and comparing is based on the overall quality of internal features. As we all know by now that China rather prefers to manufacture inferior or should I say, poor quality products, anything from chop sticks to more sophisticated products. They may look very impressive from the outside, but what counts the most is how well the inside is made, reliability factor as well and overall quality of what U.S. has been making in many past years with quality in mind. Just imagine many of Chinese fighters are reverse engineered Russian products with poor performing engines. So this is what I think what this presentation is talking about, based on overall quality despite U.S. destroyers were originally designed around 1991. Also don't forget all of U.S. destroyers have went through many upgrades with much improved weapon systems to the highest standards of today's navy, so these destroyers will not be fighting with 1991 antiquated equipments. The presentation should have mentioned this factors.

Curious, there are destroyers in this list that weights no more than 500 tons over spanish F-100 class and are clearly less powerfull, mainly due to the lack of a system like AEGIS, but spanish ones are named frigates when serving in Spain Nay and destroyers when in australian Navy.
Frigate is a weird word that means different kinds of ships depending on what era and what navy. In the US Navy, it didn't describe a ship smaller than a destroy until the 1970's. What Spain and Australia call a "frigate" could be entirely different, even if the Australians speak something that resembles English. Otherwise, "frigate" used to mean a ship of the line, which was anything short of a dreadnought.
No solamente ocurre con las fragatas, sino con cosas más sencillas como la paella: ¡vas a Australia y le llaman "paella" cualquier cosa, aunque no lleve arroz!

In the 1980s Frigate was used to describe a ship under 3k and destroyer more than 3 (roughly speaking)
Now the next generation RN frigates displace more than a WW2 arathusa class light cruiser!
I do think Frigate by the british and Australian Navy means a primary ASW role with secondary AA and AS roles, and destroyer is a AA primary role with a support function of ASW/ASM.
The T 45 and the Hobart class destroyers have a heavy AA role with the T45 going for a significant weapons boost shortly.
The T26 for Australia and the UK will have a massive AA role but will be primarly tasked with ASW for fleet support.

Russia doesn't have navy wtf, 0 air craft carriers.
South Korean 3 of KD-3 batch 2 is comming, it's even bigger and stronger than 3 of preceding ships. Its displacement is more than 12,000 tons, it will arm SM2ER, L-SAM, 1500 to 3000Km LACM, Super & hyper sonic ASM, Red shark and probably short or medium range ballistic missile.
It's gonna be launched in 2024.

In terms of size, displacement, sensors, communications, and VLS, the 055 is clearly better.

Burke Flight IIA and Burke Flight III have the new AN/SPY-6 radar. Those are definitely better than the Type 346 radar used on Chinese Type 055. Even the older AN/SPY-1D is a bit better. Type 346B radar is comparable to UK's Type 45 SAMPSON and S1850M radar in terms of detection range. While Burke only has 96 VLS cells, the missiles that they carry are dual/triple purpose. Take for example Tomahawk can target both land and sea targets at long range. Type 055 has separate missiles for that. CJ-10 for long range land attack, YJ-18 for short range anti-ship, and YJ-21 for long range anti-ship. There is also SM-6 for both ballistic and air defense, but can also target land and sea at short range. Type 55's HHH-9 is only for air defense. Also stealth is useless for ships. Even the Zumwalt's RCS can only go as a small fishing boat. Plus even if ships are as stealthy like 5th gen planes, it's useless anyway as Tomahawks is also an anti-radiation missile and can track enemy ships' radar emissions.
