- This week let's model some low poly melee weapons in 10 minutes! This is episode 19 of my weekly 10 minute modelling challenge. That means, we'll celebrate 20 episodes next week :)

I use Blender 2.82 in this video - no other addons apart from screencast keys so you can see what I press.

Bro this video is what first got me into computer graphics in blender, I’ve loved every second of my journey onward.
Definitely stick with what you are great at! High-poly I would think would be very niche, with not as many people looking for it. Low-poly will have a larger number of smaller indie devs (like myself) looking for advice. These time videos gives a great boost of confidence that indie game devs can create relatively good looking assets in a very short period of time, and we all know time is an indie dev's worst enemy.
Seeing how to rig characters to hold these weapons properly would be a big help. Also Root Motion Combat (just the animation and perhaps how hit boxes work) would be a bonus! Thanks again Imphenzia!

Since starting to watch your channel I was suddenly invited to work on the script and story for a VR racing game. It's funny how things like that seem to happen in life.

Hello! I just wanted to say that I love your channel. I just discovered it a few days ago and it is helpful and entertaining. Keep up the good work. By the way, if you wanted to do more high poly objects I would recommend watching YanSculpts. He has a few courses on sculpting. Also Grant Abbit has a nice course on creating game ready characters from start to finish.
I got into using Blender because your videos motivated me. I also made a weapon, but it took more than 10 minutes 😅

I feel like you could benefit quite a bit from the loop tools addon; it makes cutting those holes in the sword even easier.

I just learned you can extrude AND scale by doing insert to scale, hold CTRL (while in insert mode) to extrude!
but honestly E to extrude, S to scale is an excellent catchphrase for merch. do you even EXTRUDE, bro?
If you want toon looking just setup your nodes so that your texture is going into a toon shade rather than a principled shader

Can you do a tutorial on taking a city street (downtown) from Google Maps and making a low poly 3D copy of it? or maybe even a high res set of it. I am trying to duplicate a neighborhood so I can mock up an event that I am promoting. I have seen and tested a few of the plugins available for using Google Maps or Steet Maps data, but I am not having much luck.
Does it weld the vertices/edges when you scale the face to zero, or are they just occupying the same space?

btw: how do you Show the coloring in the UV Editing window ? I can only see Colors under texture paint.
I really got into modeling for my game because of you and learned much to now, but i'm still to bad to texture my stuff properly. I Always do something else wrong so i never have textures on my models :D

Streamerloot will put your e to extrude s to scale on everything you want. You can pick the price aswell...

I have an amateur question: If I make a model (for example a sailboat warship with three masts 50m x 10m x 45m in the Blender) is it worth it to use the original, real-sizes at the design, or rather better I use a smaller scale (for example 5m x 1m x 4.5m in the Blender)? Or is it does not matter? (The channel is awesome, I very like it!)
Wouldn't right click -> bridge faces also work to make these holes?
Hello Stefan! Thank you for the work on your videos. I say "hard work always yields a reward" so keep at it. I have a (hopefully) small request. My daughter did "BlenderGuru's" donut. I would like her to have it 3d printed at the library but before we do that I want to put her name on the bottom. Can you do a video on how to use fonts to write something and inset or extrude it on an object please? :))

How do I get rid of the timeline at the bottom its blocking visibility of something and glitches out if I accidently select it. Also I created a toroid and got no little menu at the bottom so could not change its parameters. I took a break from blender and seem to have forgotten so much blenders stuff it hurts. So many interesting changes.
Double headed axes are most commonly just a decoration, because on battlefield the second head gives you minimal advantages, but hinders a wielder a lot by beign heavier. (The extra weight added to swing, doesn't comes as benefit, due to beign to heavy and the leaverage of the one headed axe is big enough to be fine).
Also not meaning it as any offence against rpg double headed axes, just not useful for real life.

Double sided axe is basically just called a battle axe.
Anyone know how to get that bar on the side where it instantly textures/colors the faces he has selected? (i use 2.91)
How to export the 3D model with the bones in fbx right because when i do it the bones of the eyes becoming scaled more big and are on different places the eyes too? :D

W for What the...did I do wrong this time?? Made plenty of use of that one yesterday when I tried to replicate your BattleMech video, and the darn mech kept trying to walk away without its arms/weapons. Oh well, I guess I simply made a PacifistMech.
