    Sam, I really appreciated not only your outstanding bowl but the « story », the inspiring use of different techniques, the mistakes and their repair. The best of your contributions to this inspiring series. Thanks

      Thanks Richard, I often go TOO far. I think I stopped at the right time. I use an airbrush much as I would a paint brush---but not for any detail. It is fun. This bit of basswood sat there for 5+ years. I was not sure what to do with it. But it served me well on this challenge. Cheers, Sam

      @@WYOMINGWOODTURNER You have to go too far so later you know how far is far enough. You got it just right here.

    WOW what a bowl. I am pleased you didn't spend a lot of time on the turning. The air brushing is spot on. I hollered STOP just before you put the final blue near the rim. I liked the lighter tint you had at that point. I really like the Cattails. The dragon flies are great too. Your entry in the 4 way challenge is outstanding.👍👍 Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂 BTW will you be going to SWAT this year? I would love to be able to meet up with you.

      This belongs in the AAW mag. Only change I'd make(not a suggestion , just an opinion) is to make the inside a dark brown or brick color. It would take on a pottery vibe. Very good turning embellishment. Be sold in your Etsy shop soon.

    A lovely bowl and a very instructive demonstration of a variety of techniques. How did you remove the overabundant dragonflies? Sanding or some other method? Thanks for making and sharing this video.

    Very, very nice Sam! I've got a new airbrush and a small compressor (both new in their boxes) so I'm going to get them out today! My 8 year old granddaughter is an inspiring artist so I'm going to get her, and me, going on it. You mentioned that you took off some fireflies. How did you remove them? Keep up the good work!

      John, I just turned them away back to the bare wood. I did this 2 or 3 times (off camera). Sam

    Very cool Sam! That is an awesome approach to embellishment, this really hit it out of the park. One question, how did you color the blades of grass that you had carved with your Proxon carver?

    • @WYOMINGWOODTURNER
      @WYOMINGWOODTURNER  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mark
      I did most of the coloring with an airbrush. Some of it I did with a marker I get from Dick Blick. It has what is called a paint brush tip. Honestly, I can't remember exactly how I did the blades of grass. I did start by burning them in. When I color something I really just experiment and find something that looks good. Thanks a lot.

    Now that I've watched all 4 ways, your embellishment is a Rolls-Royce while the others range from a Honda civic to a Ford Edsel.
