Yea that kind of secondary clutch doesn’t have a way to open up the clutch pulling the center bolt seam to be the safest way to reinstall a new belt.

"a little wider" that's funny it's the side walls if the belt drive the machine. The new one just isn't worn down is all

I found that is easier to get the cover out if you remove the grease fitting
