Also, the Cheeto husband is a cop and used to have his fellow officers stalk her so she could know where she was. The man was absolutely horrific - congratulated a man who groped her, sexted a 19 year old, broke her things after she did leave, and is refusing to sign the papers saying she has nothing without him. I hope a truck finds him on a dark night

As a person who has lived in woman's safe house you cannot "ALWAYS LEAVE" leaving difficult and often dangerous. Abusers choose people who are already vulnerable, and cut off their resources, but more importantly leaving an abusive relationship is one of the most dangerous and lethal. So, yes you can acknowledge when a relationship is toxic or dangerous, but should probably also acknowledge that "just leave now" is more complex you may know.

THANK YOU!!!!!! That pissed me off so much when they were like, "you can't just stay and we need to call this out.'
Like, you have NO idea what is going on or if the woman is trying to! It is a dangerous thing to do and someone can't leave without safety nets in place. And that can take a LONG time to set up and waiting for the right time to leave. Y'know AND NOT GET KILLED?????

And when the victim chooses to leave is the most dangerous time

Women get abused, raped and murdered all the time for leaving. God forbid they start dating someone else or even get a new male friend or a co-worker. And 9/10 times police can't do anything until a crime has been committed.

Re: the mom divorcing because of the boyfriend being kind at Christmas
I remember a tumblr post that went something like “some people define respect as ‘being treated like a person’ and other define it as ‘being treated like an authority’. Sometimes people will say ‘if you don’t respect me then I won’t respect you’, but what they mean is ‘if you don’t treat me like an authority I won’t treat you like a person’ and they’ll think that’s a fair thing to ask”
Seems like the dad wanted to be the authority at all times and he couldn’t handle being treated like any other normal person.

With the first one it sounds like he was one way when they first dated, revealed histrue personality a little which got him in trouble so he apologized. Put back on the first mask he had and waited until he could convince her into something she would have trouble escaping. And once he no longer cared to fake it, he trapped her with the house contract and manipulated her feelings further. Sounds like she got out before he could beging the physical abuse.

The Husband crying in the shower had an update. He's in love with the sister, but they didn't cheat. The gf told the sister and she was horrified.

I think you are mixing up stories cuz I recognize that story but for this one the update was deleted cuz of an ongoing police investigation on the sister for drugging and assaulting the husband

36:51 My stepdad was just like this. He was so bad that he would holler at me for hours if I just simply walked through a room that he and my mother were sitting in and didn't say anything. I will never forget the quote: when you walk into a room, you acknowledge me!
Even if I didn't acknowledge my mother or my cat or the fish. I had to acknowledge him specifically, intentionally, and non-sarcastically, somehow. Imagine telling a teenager That they have to acknowledge you and only you every time they walk through a room, then getting angry when they do. Walk through the living room. Got yelled at continued to the kitchen. Completed my tasks in the kitchen, walked back through the living room. Yelled hi step dad, as loud as I could maintaining direct eye contact. Kept going upstairs and repeated this about five times. Successively over the course of 10 minutes to where I ended up grounded basically for insubordination, even though that's not exactly what he said.. but yeah malicious compliance.

The husband in the last story was actually drugged and raped by the sister, that's why his reaction was so devastating

The story of the boyfriend helping the mom finally stand up for herself. I think this might be that example of a good age gap relationship

49:40 as someone who just moved to the Southern US, where the days have been 102F consistently, the thought of sweating mayo constantly terrifies me. Id just be *covered* in a thick layer of it constantly. Its bad enoungh that I'm drenched in sweat the majority of the day, but at least thats not too noticeable at times. Mayonnaise though? Theres no getting around it

I’m petty. I would have stayed till my lease was up walked around looking fire and gotten a new loving guy and pissed him off. Why do I have to cry. Just make him cry

I’m a 25 year old woman, and I probably wouldn’t date a 40 year old man simply because his kids are likely not that much younger than me. If he doesn’t have kids (rare in my area), then maybe if we have a lot in common. But I’m much more likely to look for single dads in their thirties now. I love kids but don’t want my own, and I clean for a living so I know how to do it efficiently. I live on my own and support myself and my two cats.
Some of my peers are still living with their parents. Some of my peers live with roommates. Some of my peers are in still in school. And some of my peers are in the seventh year of their career.
Being 24-27 is such a weird age. Maybe all my ages have been weight because *I’m* weird. Idk 🤷‍♀️

My dad and bonus mom have a 15-year age gap. By the time they met, however, she already had a career in banking and they were introduced by my cousin's now ex-wife. She's also the only woman he ever dated where the age gap was more than two years.
