I see one big problem for my use scenario. Most of the time when I plan my daily trips I'm camped somewhere where there is no internet and no cell phone service. Not a problem with my Garmin Montanas - I plan my ride on Basecamp on a laptop, then send it to the Montana. It appears I can't send tracks and waypoints to a Tread from my laptop. So how do I plan a ride if there is no cell service and no internet connection?
@@BlazeOffRoad Now you've really got me confused! My 8" Tread only has a USB-C port and a microSD slot? My Montana 750i is the only Garmin I have with a micro USB.
Yes! Far cheaper than the $3,500 competitor that everyone is currently using for racing down in Baja! Also, with far more features than the other units!
@@BlazeOffRoadI’m guessing it doesn’t do turn by turn voice directions? I kinda want a Montana 700i (just returned mine for the time being) mixed with DriveSmart86 (I’m going to put this in my mothers car when I get the Pioneer). I’m thinking I’ll just have do two devices unfortunately. Now if only they would interface with my Escort Maxcam360C, but that would be redundant, still would be cool. Garmin is still king of pure GPSS for the everyday person. I’m putting an AVIC-W8600NEX (this and the Escort DO interface 🙂) in my Car, but I want everything now. 😂 I need to upgrade my Garmin Watch AGAIN. But when I want a new watch Garmin comes out with Descent Mk3i 51, I suppose it’s good I didn’t spring for the Mk2i 51 ⌚️The first Garmin I bought for snowmobiling (GPSMAP 62ST) is still going, but I need to replace the AA battery contact set because Alkaline batteries broke one positive terminal (10 min fix).

Yes they are all android based and they do not have the normal android apps, however you can put them in developer mode the same way as any other android, and although we have heard other people load apps onto them via SD card we know that Garmin officially does not recommend it and as a Garmin dealer we follow the same recommendation. Also not quite sure what app you are referring to there.
Exactly the video I needed at exactly the right time. Thanks!
Absolutely! Let us know when you’re ready, they are on the website, and a few are on sale!
I asked Santa for a Carpe Iter...i woke up on Christmas morning to find Jodie Foster 😂
Love my Thread overland form you all.
They are awesome units!

You can very easy load tracks (or map packs) via micro SD! We tend to just leave one in the tread should we ever need it!

@@olehmelnyk4926 my apologies, I did mean micro SD!
I might be getting old, but did he really say 2500USD ?

For over-landing and trails, a iPad mini does just fine and won’t break the bank. These must be for racing.

I am not sure exactly what you are asking, but if you press and hold on any icon you can move it or remove it!
Hi, I was wondering: are all these android based? Can you load DMD2 on all of them? Thanks!

You can sideload any APK that doesn’t require Google play.
