so.. as a person who never got in to Eve due to its mechanics.. how will this tie in to the rest of EVE? with the talk of sessions... is this going to be compartmentalized away from the main Eve game or will this eventually be part of the main EVE loop?
I went to Fanfest a few months back - they described it as a module for EVE, where essentially you'd download the launcher, and rather than clicking on a space-based pilot to play as, you'd click on your infantry character instead. In terms of compartmentalization, there's a new faction warfare feature called "corruption", that infantry on the ground can help drive up at the moment, essentially helping out the space pirates in making systems more dangerous and looting goods for everyone to steal. I suspect in time, there will be a counterforce of anti-pirates from the main empires and the space police, pushing back against the pirates. Hope that helps a bit.
You probably want this to be entirely separate so that Eve events and server issues which result in TiDi don't hit your sessions. Let this succeed on being a shooter with Eve theming rather than a shooter in Eve (without expanding the player base). If Dust was any indication, trying to integrate and balance two separate styles of games around common elements just ends up being a mess.
@@jokerES2 CCP can have it directly affect the rest of EVE without tidi impacting it. It would be interesting to see some level of impact of the battles that play out in Eve Vanguard in the Eve Online world, and vice versa. I don't expect that at launch. But eventual integration would be cool as a concept.
I was contacted, as an old Dust 514 player, to reserve my character name in Vanguard. It is unfortunate that we're not included in this initial play test.
TTK is looking quite fast, and movement is looking generally very slow. It's seeming very close to Call Of Duty ttk. I'm hoping to see a slightly longer TTK that allows for outplay potential and recovery in a world like this where multiple squads of enemies could come from anywhere. That'd increase aim skill translation and make the game more fun than frustrating to play imo.
Dust was beyond its time from a concept perspective, if they hit the nail on vanguard they're sitting on a gold mine. GAWD so much potential
I loved the chaos of the large battlefields in Dust 514, kind of tired of extraction shooters...... just doesn't have that same nostalgia or gameplay I've been waiting for from Dust 514. Pretty sure I'll miss that game forever
Haven't tried it yet. First impression is it seems like a cool fps but hard to relate to EVE, but maybe this is the future of how EVE survives and continues to grow and expand into many facets of gaming. I would have liked to see something like station lounges people could gather in with their avatar, socialize, and play other mini games in, like pool, cards, etc. Also an intricate mini-game of salvaging could be made in itself like "ship breaker", with more elaborate rewards for those who want to dedicate their time to advanced salvaging. Fighter pilot combat could be turned into an fps exiting mini-game in itself, especially with multiple people controlling one ship, manually targeting with guns, while one person pilots, and maybe an engineer tries to keep the ship together, running around inside patching up holes.
Unsure how i feel about this, there are so many shooters around and this looks great. But if I'm going to play a shooter that's based on Eve, how does it impact my main eve character ? and how does it impact the eve online universe ? Because, i can go play any other shooter that is already out that is already polished.
Those are the big questions i ask myself. Was never a long term Eve online player (i prefer other space games) but Vanguard got my interest, since i love FPS games. Question is, how well will Vanguard be implemented into the Eve Online ecosystem. Will it be just another shooter, or something that has really meaningful impact?
@@MrScar88 Yea, 100%, i quit Eve over a year ago, after playing for 10 years. If this shooter had real meaning to the actual universe, i would potentially return. But i guess we will see.
The only announced impact so far is to advance (or suppress, presumably) the Deathless insurgency into faction warfare space. This can change the security status of systems, and speed up reward payouts, as well as changing other gameplay across about two dozen systems at a time. I'm sure once we start getting story based lore updates there will be more clues as to what other overlap they will have. It seems the most obvious would be things like Sovereignty, Planetary Industry, ESS systems, or maybe Pochven mechanics.
@@wingspantt They don't seem too bad. I mean, Sec status changes could be nice, turning low systems into null could be interesting ? or blacking regions/systems out ? What I think I'm looking for is ways of earning ISK for my space toon with my space toon. Because if I'm spending time playing the shooter, it is taking me away from earning isk in space.
@@tekk611 Right now the mechanics are all tied to lowsec. Suppression for instance increases bounty payouts and FW loyalty payouts. The original Dust game also was all set in LS
This looks really good. I'm a little concerned about only offering one customizable weapon. Especially since you have already publicly stated that you want this to feel like a successor to Dust 514 Unless I am completely off Dust had a cast arsenal gave any sci-fi shooter a run for its money.
So who other than me is old enough to remember that eve online had a fps module already, that integrated with the ships way back in the grand old time of 2013 ahh you were one of the best dust 514
Well, I'm all in if it has controller support, although the TTK is hard to get a grasp on. Most of the targets die in two or three bullets (from an auto) but others take an entire clip. Hope they don't go the easy route.
I wish I got to Play Dust 514 when it was still there. Any chance you guys would bring back the Dust514 weapons? Imagine carrying an Amarrian Scrambler Pistol into combat? or the absolute mess you could create with a Gallente Kenetic Plasma Launcher? or even just hang out with a Minmatar Slug Thrower.

See you nerds on the battlefield, both in space and on the ground o7
Nice.
Didn’t they do something like this before? Are they both linked? What next walking in station?
This looks really good. I'm a little concerned about only offering one customizable weapon. Especially since you have already publicly stated that you want this to feel like a successor to Dust 514 Unless I am completely off Dust had a cast arsenal gave any sci-fi shooter a run for its money.
hopefully they optimize it better for us lower end pc nerds who cant afford to upgrade lol.
Looks amazing
Entropic Radiation guns when? Long live triangles!
Какие-то связи с основной игрой будут, награды, лут и т.п.?
So who other than me is old enough to remember that eve online had a fps module already, that integrated with the ships way back in the grand old time of 2013 ahh you were one of the best dust 514
Here, I even got the Templar set. You think they will honor it in some way? They did make a characyer database shortly after 514 shut down
Me.......🙂
What be the download size for this ?
It requires 30 GB of storage, so download should be lower. Although I remember that someone mentioned 45 GB during test.. not sure
Looking forward to it.
I wanna give guys on the ground support from space, hoping(probably in vain) that this will become a thing
where is the TIDI and the multibox aspect?
First time I'm excited about an Eve Online side project.
Don't fuck this up.
i hope this type of gameplay stays in EVE Online forever
Looks interesting, will try our in a few days see how it is like. I wonder if CCP could ever convert Eve into a Star Citizen gameplay type
Madrugar,suria,phyton ,16vs16 DUST 514 remake
Well, I'm all in if it has controller support, although the TTK is hard to get a grasp on. Most of the targets die in two or three bullets (from an auto) but others take an entire clip. Hope they don't go the easy route.
Dust 2.0 baby!
As a former dust player, what goodies will i be receiving? Yes, I still have that email address!
At a bare minimum you can reserve your old Dust character names on the Vanguard page by registering your email address
Up up gogo brasil legion! manda um salve ai os br!
Wow 😮this is going to be amazing.
are you going to scre this one as well
0:07 Its about spreadsheets, not spaceships. He must work in HR.
Probably a better trooper then pilot in eve tbh :-)
I hope the game can fill my gaps that left dust 514 behind
PS3 exclusive! Yay!
Not this time
Its simple. Revise the dust514 formula and you have a successful game with a huge group of diehard players already invested in it.
This looks sick, sad its not available on macs as i play on mac m1.
Why is there no way to uninstall Vanguard? Doesnt appear in Windows apps and features, no button in launcher either?
Please animate firearms that utilize kinetic ammo properly. If there is already a shell in the chamber don't re-chamber a round on reload.
So Dust 514 version 2?
so how do i install the game :D there is no info...
I'm confused :D Will it be a part of EVE online or is that a separate stand alone game?
It's meant as an extension of EVE.
Thanks :) @@Youcancallmeishmaell
IF YOU PUT A PATTERN BUFFER FOR THE GAME ,to reduce lag and fatigue and latency you will eventually best the competition and it will have higher marks to sell! and function even to online .
