I still think the Zards with the custom headers are the best just for that meat, but it's worth saying that they all sound great and for the V&H to have a sound like that while still being all compliant and legal-styly is real impressive.
The Zards with the custom headers look and sound amazing. As for the V&H, I prefer the bog standard exhaust looks and sound myself. The Street Scrambler has one of the best sounding stock pipes. Good to see a comparison.
First mod I completed within days of picking up my 2019 Street Scrambler was to de-cat with British Customs x pipe and throw a set of Vance & Hines exhaust on...I couldn't stand the stock pipes and cat in the way, free'd up the bike and gave it a nice rumble - but those Zards do sound and look solid!!
I De-Cated my '22 SS 900 and kept the stock cans. BC DeCat header. They sound great and don't backfire or pop but they are strait through design. They have functional heat shields so even the occasional passenger won't harm themselves. I think they look better than 2 into 1 design. Combined with the booster plug, snappy throttle and more power.
The original 2into1 V&H (mk1 catless version created for the street twin) without the baffle is the sweet spot 👌🏼 Loud but not silly loud & almost looks subtle vs the Zards which looks a bit too ‘mad max’ for me (subjective I know!) More importantly…..when’s that TEC cam going in?!
Zard's are the way to go! I have the Zard Six Days on my 2022 Street Scrambler along with the British Customs De Cat. It sound amazing and people definitely hear you. In your video you mention a performance increase with the crossover chamber on the custom headers. Can you elaborate? I have been trying to track down info on this for the last week and have not found anything. For reference British Customs DeCat VS Free Spirts DeCat. Free Spirits has the cross over chamber.
@@jakeschwaller1102 I don’t have that issue. The engine runs well with no massive popping sounds. If you let the engine run till the fan comes on the engine retunes itself
@@kjltube It's a '22. I'm looking into DNK tuneworks. That sounds like the way to go. The 12 minute tune didn't make a difference, and it idles high until I've been riding for a while.
@@jakeschwaller1102 I’m not sure what the “12 minute tune” is but I tried letting it “reset” by idling till the fan came on a number of occasions, but to no avail. I have the full Vance Hines system and it has all the power I need since the tune. They gave me a 500 rpm higher redline too which is cool. I installed from a paid download from DNK, via an app on an android tablet and $120 dongle. Well worth it if you bike is running lean. Bought a used Android tablet and then sold it afterwards as I’m primarily an Apple user.
I've listen to this on my phone, tv, my Samsung soundbar and lastly my heaphone which i normally take to the radiostasion and i think i love the sound of the V & H sounds lovely. Not as loud as the Zards but still really beautiful.
Great video mate. Honestly I loved the sound of the second one, just that crack of the throttle.. sounded sweet, them you could tell the Third one was the best for Get up & Go... & Even sound, toned it down a lil but that would be my pick 🤙🏻🤘🏻 cheers 🍻 You award of the Aussie Vloggers meet ups ?
New subscriber from the uk came from your other channel just been watching the camping series great stuff , I run a street scrambler and thinking of changing pipes and was thinking V and h due to legality over here . Great channel 👍
Do you have a custom tune? I have the british customs decat and V&H like you have here, and I have significant decel pops. I noticed you didn't. I'm wondering if I don't have a tight enough seal somewhere or if it is a tuning issue. Thanks for the great content!
Dude, those Zards sound amazing....it makes that twin thump!!! As long as you not an idiot, no ones gonna mess with ya, but at the end of the day, if you wanna be compliant, V&H it is..... I wouldn't do it though until I was ticketed lol Sláinte!
That's a good comparison! I upgraded my exhaust one step at a time.. 1st with the omega decat h pipe. Then installed the V&H slip on. And when I found a full V&H high pipe (headers and all) I sold the current set up.
Hey when you film with your gopro and media mod do you also add audio from your purple panda mic? If so what do you record the purple panda audio on? You're phone? Looking to start moto vloging a bit. Just bought a gopro hero10 but need to figure out cheap but good audio solutions
I don't see the fascination in 'decatting'. One, its there to help clean up emissions, so thats a good thing right? Two, its illegal in most jurisdictions to remove it. Three, there is not any distinguishable difference in any of these set ups that I could justify spending 2 or 3 hundred quid on. T have spent time and research money on developing the stock system, which buyers pay for when purchasing the bike initially. Why pay twice? Save your money.
To be fair though the emissions from a motorbike are almost nothing compared to even a car so I personally can't say I'm bothered about that compared with other things. Supposedly with more exhaust flow there could be a power increase but its minimal from what I can tell. I think the main difference will be the volume but I've not done this before. It can save a kilo for what it's worth too
The ZARDs sound better to me. I think they give the look of the bike more character as well.
They’re both super different in ever way but also look as cool as each other.
I prefer the Zards too .. obviously haha
I agree, the Zards sound nice.. love the rasp on power

Yea I love that it sounds great right across the board.. apart from when the baffles are out of the Zards haha. Too much beast
Dude, this was so much fun to watch. You know me, I love anything Zard. The meatiness is just too good.

The existing exhaust setup you had.. Zard with custom header 👌🏼🔥
The Zards are ripping 🤩
For short rides ZARDs and for long distance rides V&H.
The original sounds the best. I love it and have no plans of changing it
The Zard M2's with either header pipes sound better but then it's probably just because they are louder. I'd be happy with any of those setups!
Zard and new headers sound and looks amazing.
Hi, is it the Racing or the Homologated version of the Zard ? Thanks ! 🙏
I would like to know as well

I'm new to your channel, but i already love this. What is the exact model of your bike? I really like scramblers and i am looking for one myself...
Door #3. Zards w custom. Curious to know the difference in heat on the leg between them (if any)
Does it need to flush ecu or required ecu tuned ?
Zards gave a more throaty sound I thought. Interesting!
what set up would you say suits a pillion more?

Yea they bloody scream hey
Zard slip on + stock headers (with cat)
Is it annoyingly loud ?
I have that setup on my scram without the baffles on. I think its the perfect balance of being lound but not to annoyingly loud for others.
Stock headers + Zard.🎉
I love the Zard sound but I don't think my neighbors would appreciate my taste in music.
Zard exhaust is better! 💯
