Give Maggie some room to complain or address different aspects of the pillion experience. Agree on, i dont know, 5 points to touch on. 2. Let the camera roll and just stitch together the various observations. Agree in advance at which point you give your comprehensive take on the observations on your pillion. I think Maggie represents my wife's way of looking at the bike better than my own impressions of a pillion worthy bike and that has its own value. Everyone here is looking at other peoples' reviews, too, so your particular take can have its own public.

You are right to bring up the exhaust multiple times - it has to be one of the best stock exhausts on a modern bike!! I've had my 2022 Street Scrambler/900 for almost two years now and have just shy of 10,000 miles. A few multi-day trips, forest service roads, and lots of twisty pavement as I live near the Blue Ridge Mountains. Still absolutely love it and plan to always have this one in the garage. When I was researching the purchase that led to my Triumph, one review described the Street Scrambler/900 as the "Labrador retriever of motorcycles" - it is up for whatever, always happy to just be out and about with you, maybe not the fastest or the most powerful but friendly to everyone and hard for someone to dislike. Think the comparison is pretty perfect! The critiques are all fair and accurate to my experience as well, the tank is on the smaller size though that 900cc gets a surprising mileage with the tall gearing and ample torque - I average about 60 mpg overall depending on how much highway riding done, but have managed 65 - 70+ mpg regularly when trying to squeeze out some extras miles to make the next gas station. Standing on the pegs is indeed awkward with the high pipe and I added a bolt-on brake pedal extension that helps quite a bit, but you still feel fairly bow-legged and awkward overall. It is a good reminder that you are ultimately on a near 500 lb street machine!
I've watched quite a few of your videos. This is the only one where I've heard you laugh out loud multiple times. A true sign of having fun. Im thinking about getting one.

I've got the 2023 Scrambler 900cc Chrome edition (Brooklands Green tank and chrome sides) - love it - agree, great torque, amazing/addictive stock exhaust sound, only 3.17 US gallon/12L tank - I have been getting 56 US mpg cruising country roads (over1st 650 miles). I have had 20+ bikes over the many years and this is the smoothest clutch & transmission combo I have ever had & the front brake surprisingly really hauls you down, very impressed. All day ride, but the seat will get to you after 90+ minutes. Time for a break anyhow then. Great review, thank you.

I have this bike, it’s powerful and you have to respect it. I say this for any beginners who are looking at this for their first bike. That being said, it’s a great all-around motorcycle. The transmission is smooth as silk, I don’t think I’ve ever missed a gear. I tour on mine, at 6’3 it’s very comfortable. Great power for the freeway and easy to handle around town.
Nice review. Wow, snow. I bought a 2022 Street Scrambler as a second bike. I added a wind screen and just installed a centre stand. I just love the bike. I have a fast naked sport bike and thought this bike would just be for local commutes but I do longer highway trips on this bike now. It is so comfortable and even at 70mph it has plenty of power. Being comfortable and the sound of the engine it is so relaxing I have nearly dozed off on this bike. 😊

This was my first bike (2018 MY). I loved it. Super manageable and versatile enough that it helped me discover my love of true off-road and ADV riding. Plus it's just cool as hell.
I had the 2019 version of this bike and I loved it. Unfortunately, I found that I also loved touring and this bike fell a bit short on that account. The lack of wind protection, lackluster luggage options and no cruise control meant it was not fun going for extended periods on highways. I was very sad to part with it though since it was so good an every other way. It looked good, it sounded good and it felt amazing to ride. If you are not planning on going for long touring rides, this bike is definitely one to get.
Ridden my bonneville 5hrs straight. It can definitely do long distance the neat thing about these bikes you can make them your own. They sell throttle locks if you’re looking for something like a cruise control.
What a great looking bike! Somehow everything about it appeals to me 😊 If only they could hold on to the Sport 660 priceline… I guess they know older/more mature/richer riders will be less price sensetive when it comes to this beauty ❤ Thanks Ian as always a great review 🙏🙏

I think if I were to get a second bike, to be used for primarily for the street, this is what I'd want. A dualsport/adv bike will probably always be my primary machine.
For me my mike is primary a replacement for my car. So my F750GS does this perfectly, with a high windshield. The second bike would be something fun; and this scrambler would be perfect!
@Cult1022 I'd probably get rid of my car if I lived in a state with friendlier weather. I ride in most weather, rain doesn't bother me. But icy roads and snow definitely do.
I have a 2022 Bonneville t100 simply put: these are the “ Rolex” of classics!!! Also you have to appreciate how Triumph hides the emissions systems under the bike -it looks like it doesn’t have any. I love how Triumph is image focused 70 comments and everyone’s got something different to say I love it

Ian, nice job! You crack me up every time you hit that throttle. That’s the exact laugh I get on my ‘23 1200 Tiger Rally Explorer. The gearboxes in these newer Triumphs are absolutely stellar. The exhaust notes are just right and they put a big ass grin on my face every single time. Me being 6’5”, I’m not sure I could do much more than a few miles on that little bike, but I may go look at the off-road version. Thanks as always for your great work!
This is a very fun review as we ride along with you. I really get a feel for the bike. Your pros and cons are right on point. This is a bike I would like in my garage! The color is very nice. However, like all scramblers, it is not a motor for any extended two-up riding!
Excellent review! This bike is a great retro style option as always, and having ridden one recently at a demo day i wholeheartedly agree that it just sounds so damn good. Around town this bike would be an absolute treat.
Had it, love it, sold it. Upgraded to Triumph Tiger 900 rally pro without test ride. Why? Testrode Husqvarna 901 and I liked the bike, but was concerned about reliability [ktm!] and catalytic converter, wich is right between ur ankles. It feels like thermonuclear reactor. So I went with the Tiger and hope that it will be just as good as Scrambler. Had no issues at all with mine :) Had one recall tho, cuz they wanted to put a bit of a "router" for the cables near the head lamp. Put 18k km over 4 years on it and did 1200km 3 day trip with my wife last year. Nothing bad about it, just needed something more "touring" oriented, hence the upgrade :)

I sold my T120 last year, and kinda regretted it. I did a test ride on the Ducati Scrambler, but didn’t like the peg placement, also rode the BMW r ninet, very nice, but felt a little too big. I just sat on the Triumph 900, and it felt like “home” for me. Will be test riding one soon, I think this will be my next bike.

I totally agree with you on the exhaust sound. Just about perfect. But I'm not that attracted to retro-styled bikes though, and I like you, I think they should've added better lighting tech. Halogen just doesn't cut it.
I like it, a little more grippy tires and it would be perfect. I like the traditional scrambler with the high pipes and the upright sitting position. this is a real motorcycle.
Hi I have a 2023 and it is a great bike. The sound is amazing. I added the small fly screen and was really surprised at just how good it is at reducing the wind buffeting. I haven’t got any negatives with this bike. I also have a 2023 T120 so best of both worlds really!
Just bought one yesterday, same color. I found the right turn effort is a lot more than my T7 or Ducati Scrambler by far. I still need to ride more to figure out what it wants. Nice ride though. Windscreen on the way.
First and foremost great review! I own this bike and a 1200xc. I prefer the character of my street scrambler over the xc. I wish the street scrambler had better suspension, a few more ponies as well as a few more ft/lbs. of torque and cruise control. I currently own 7 bikes and have to say I enjoy my 900 street scrambler the most.
Thanks for the review. This bike is one of interest for me. I recently sold my Super Tenere, looking for a smaller bike. Love the sound and looks of the Triumph. It feels like an old school enduro bike to me. Very comfortable and familiar. Love the throttle control on the bike as well. Hopefullly I will be getting me a new bike soon. This may be the bike.
It's funny you mentioned the snappiness of the Yamaha throttles. I just took my MSF course over this past weekend and everyone, including myself, complained that the Yamahas they rode had a snappy throttle. Obviously, you get used to it but learning throttle control especially through curves and tight turns was a little challenging at first.
ANy chance you could review the scrambler 1200 XE and really put it through its paces off road. I would love to hear your opinion on not only how it handles but how it compares to bikes such as the 890R, Africa twin and the likes. Love your channel and your intelligent well thought out reviews!!!

I have one of the previous generation Scramblers, an air-cooled, carbureted 2006. I really don't ride it that much any more, but I'm having a hard time convincing myself to part with it. I've abused it, attempting to ride it off road a few times. It's okay for dirt roads, but that's about it for my skill set. Also, I've found it's pretty heavy to pick up and doesn't crash without issue. I have the stock flat seat that came with the 2006 and it is a pretty good place for a passenger. My daughters like riding on it. The exhaust is there, but it has the shield which keeps from burning a leg. I don't believe I'd replace it with one of the new 900s. But I would consider one of the 1200s. I'd probably go for the XC rather than the XE. If I really want to ride off road, I've got better bikes for that, so the extra ground clearance and all that would be wasted on me.
Oh yeah, mine was $7000 out the door, but that was with 2006 dollars. It seemed a relative bargain then. I don't know if the current pricing is such a bargain. Another reason I'd just spring for the 1200.
Excellent review although I’m not a scrambler type guy. But Triumph makes gorgeous bikes. I would think if I was looking for something for road/off-road capabilities I’d go with an adventure bike but if I was going with a Triumph I’d go t100. Great review.
I own a 2019 and you’re not wrong about the exhaust, it never gets old and I cant understand why anyone would put an aftermarket pipe on it. Only thing I wish it had was an analogue tacho.
So: One front brake disc Standard front fork with no adjustment Incandescent lights 64 hp 5 gears Tube tires A speedometer that says Bonneville You’re basically paying for a good sounding engine and a couple of aesthetic details.
Nice review. I have a 2022 Gold Line Street Scrambler and pretty much agree with everything you say. I love the bike, but the tank range bugs me and it's also not much good if my wife wants to come out on pillion. Unfortunately I think I'm going to have to trade it in for something more pillion friendly with a better tank range. Otherwise it's a great bike.
It's a solid bike. I've tried to destroy mine and it's still going strong. Although once I got the 1200, the 900 is definitely mostly sticking to the pavement now.
I'd love to see Triumph offer XC and XE trims of this 900 scrambler, with fully-adjustable, long-travel, dirt-friendly suspension. Their 1200s are beautiful, but they're MASSIVE for anybody under 6'. The stock power delivery of the 900 is reportedly pretty mellow, but owners wanting more power have allegedly built them up to 90HP or so, which can accelerate a 500lb moto pretty quickly.
Another down side to all the air-cooled and newer water-cooled Bonneville bikes is the exposed/fragile shift lever. On the air-cooled bikes, a simple tip over onto soft ground/grass, not even while moving, can result in bending of the gearbox selector shaft that the lever is attached to. Usually this requires a gearbox strip down to replace...likely a few thousand dollars from a dealer. A simple folding/flip up shift lever peg, common on off road dirt bikes, would go a long way to preventing this issue. Even a notch cut into the lever itself, such that is could be snapped off in sacrifice if stressed, would be a preferred option for low cost, in the field swap out after a fall. On the Street Scrambler in this video, I found the brake pedal rather disappointing. Looks to be a bit of pressed metal. Earlier air-cooled bonneville scramblers had a nicely formed cast alloy for both brake and shifter.
I have a 2019 Triumph Street Scambler 900 Speed McQueen edditon I love the bike my only wish would it would have been tubeless but taking it on the highways commuting to work then take in up through the Appalachian mountains is such a blast. If i want to do short trips or city driving i just take my honda pcx 150 if only triumph made a scooter.
Finally! thanks for this video waiting for 1200 review (more interesting for me personally) It would be really great to hear your opinion on the touring adjustments of 1200

Great review. One of the most underrated bikes. Hard to find a bike that's more fun at somewhat legal speeds. I've ridden probably 150 different bikes and this one and the Scrambler 865 are among the bikes I've had the most fun on. As a bonus it's simple, and doesn't have all the electronics the 1200 has (and mine had a sensor fail in the first 6000km). This simple Scrambler is definately the best value of the bunch and the most comfortable.
I'm a tall rider (6'2) and would love to ride either a scrambler or a naked bike but feel I have limited options if I want a proper fit. Can you guys make a video on motorcycles that fit taller riders without defaulting to ADV bikes? I don't want an ADV bike just because I'm tall
Triumph needs to make an ADV version of the tiger 660 it would sell a ton of them with spike wheels tailored to off road ADV market. The bigger tigers are too big and heavy the 660 would be a great bike for that. These scramblers are not really off-road bikes 😂😂 that’s kind of why I bought the T120 and damn I love that bike it’s frigging great😊

I've got a T-100 and love it. You described the engine and the way it handles perfectly. The 5 speed is absolutely perfectly paired with this motor.

Had it, love it, sold it. Upgraded to Triumph Tiger 900 rally pro without test ride. Why? Testrode Husqvarna 901 and I liked the bike, but was concerned about reliability [ktm!] and catalytic converter, wich is right between ur ankles. It feels like thermonuclear reactor. So I went with the Tiger and hope that it will be just as good as Scrambler. Had no issues at all with mine :) Had one recall tho, cuz they wanted to put a bit of a "router" for the cables near the head lamp. Put 18k km over 4 years on it and did 1200km 3 day trip with my wife last year. Nothing bad about it, just needed something more "touring" oriented, hence the upgrade :)

I sold my T120 last year, and kinda regretted it. I did a test ride on the Ducati Scrambler, but didn’t like the peg placement, also rode the BMW r ninet, very nice, but felt a little too big. I just sat on the Triumph 900, and it felt like “home” for me. Will be test riding one soon, I think this will be my next bike.

I totally agree with you on the exhaust sound. Just about perfect. But I'm not that attracted to retro-styled bikes though, and I like you, I think they should've added better lighting tech. Halogen just doesn't cut it.

I like it, a little more grippy tires and it would be perfect. I like the traditional scrambler with the high pipes and the upright sitting position. this is a real motorcycle.

I have a 2023 and it is a great bike. The sound is amazing. I added the small fly screen and was really surprised at just how good it is at reducing the wind buffeting. I haven’t got any negatives with this bike. I also have a 2023 T120 so best of both worlds really!

Just bought one yesterday, same color. I found the right turn effort is a lot more than my T7 or Ducati Scrambler by far. I still need to ride more to figure out what it wants. Nice ride though. Windscreen on the way.

First and foremost great review! I own this bike and a 1200xc. I prefer the character of my street scrambler over the xc. I wish the street scrambler had better suspension, a few more ponies as well as a few more ft/lbs. of torque and cruise control. I currently own 7 bikes and have to say I enjoy my 900 street scrambler the most.

This bike is one of interest for me. I recently sold my Super Tenere, looking for a smaller bike. Love the sound and looks of the Triumph.
It feels like an old school enduro bike to me. Very comfortable and familiar. Love the throttle control on the bike as well.
Hopefullly I will be getting me a new bike soon. This may be the bike.

It's funny you mentioned the snappiness of the Yamaha throttles. I just took my MSF course over this past weekend and everyone, including myself, complained that the Yamahas they rode had a snappy throttle. Obviously, you get used to it but learning throttle control especially through curves and tight turns was a little challenging at first.

I have one of the previous generation Scramblers, an air-cooled, carbureted 2006. I really don't ride it that much any more, but I'm having a hard time convincing myself to part with it. I've abused it, attempting to ride it off road a few times. It's okay for dirt roads, but that's about it for my skill set. Also, I've found it's pretty heavy to pick up and doesn't crash without issue. I have the stock flat seat that came with the 2006 and it is a pretty good place for a passenger. My daughters like riding on it. The exhaust is there, but it has the shield which keeps from burning a leg. I don't believe I'd replace it with one of the new 900s. But I would consider one of the 1200s. I'd probably go for the XC rather than the XE. If I really want to ride off road, I've got better bikes for that, so the extra ground clearance and all that would be wasted on me.
Oh yeah, mine was $7000 out the door, but that was with 2006 dollars. It seemed a relative bargain then. I don't know if the current pricing is such a bargain. Another reason I'd just spring for the 1200.

Excellent review although I’m not a scrambler type guy. But Triumph makes gorgeous bikes. I would think if I was looking for something for road/off-road capabilities I’d go with an adventure bike but if I was going with a Triumph I’d go t100. Great review.

I own a 2019 and you’re not wrong about the exhaust, it never gets old and I cant understand why anyone would put an aftermarket pipe on it. Only thing I wish it had was an analogue tacho.

Nice review. I have a 2022 Gold Line Street Scrambler and pretty much agree with everything you say. I love the bike, but the tank range bugs me and it's also not much good if my wife wants to come out on pillion. Unfortunately I think I'm going to have to trade it in for something more pillion friendly with a better tank range. Otherwise it's a great bike.

It's a solid bike. I've tried to destroy mine and it's still going strong. Although once I got the 1200, the 900 is definitely mostly sticking to the pavement now.
I'd love to see Triumph offer XC and XE trims of this 900 scrambler, with fully-adjustable, long-travel, dirt-friendly suspension. Their 1200s are beautiful, but they're MASSIVE for anybody under 6'.
The stock power delivery of the 900 is reportedly pretty mellow, but owners wanting more power have allegedly built them up to 90HP or so, which can accelerate a 500lb moto pretty quickly.

Another down side to all the air-cooled and newer water-cooled Bonneville bikes is the exposed/fragile shift lever. On the air-cooled bikes, a simple tip over onto soft ground/grass, not even while moving, can result in bending of the gearbox selector shaft that the lever is attached to. Usually this requires a gearbox strip down to replace...likely a few thousand dollars from a dealer. A simple folding/flip up shift lever peg, common on off road dirt bikes, would go a long way to preventing this issue. Even a notch cut into the lever itself, such that is could be snapped off in sacrifice if stressed, would be a preferred option for low cost, in the field swap out after a fall.
On the Street Scrambler in this video, I found the brake pedal rather disappointing. Looks to be a bit of pressed metal. Earlier air-cooled bonneville scramblers had a nicely formed cast alloy for both brake and shifter.

I have a 2019 Triumph Street Scambler 900 Speed McQueen edditon I love the bike my only wish would it would have been tubeless but taking it on the highways commuting to work then take in up through the Appalachian mountains is such a blast. If i want to do short trips or city driving i just take my honda pcx 150 if only triumph made a scooter.

I was close to getting the 1200 scrambler chrome edition but finally got the tiger 1200.
Great review. One of the most underrated bikes. Hard to find a bike that's more fun at somewhat legal speeds. I've ridden probably 150 different bikes and this one and the Scrambler 865 are among the bikes I've had the most fun on. As a bonus it's simple, and doesn't have all the electronics the 1200 has (and mine had a sensor fail in the first 6000km). This simple Scrambler is definately the best value of the bunch and the most comfortable.
Suspension is lacking tho. To hard for B roads, and to soft to jump - it bottoms out once u go flying :)
I don't think it is underrated. It is just a styling exercise.

I'm a tall rider (6'2) and would love to ride either a scrambler or a naked bike but feel I have limited options if I want a proper fit. Can you guys make a video on motorcycles that fit taller riders without defaulting to ADV bikes? I don't want an ADV bike just because I'm tall
Triumph needs to make an ADV version of the tiger 660 it would sell a ton of them with spike wheels tailored to off road ADV market. The bigger tigers are too big and heavy the 660 would be a great bike for that. These scramblers are not really off-road bikes 😂😂 that’s kind of why I bought the T120 and damn I love that bike it’s frigging great😊
