The deal for Indian rafales included infrastructure setup cost, weapon costs, cost for India specific changes and above all the cost of electronic shielding required for nuclear delivery. These things can never be made public and that’s why trolls such as yourself take advantage of the situation to peddle lies and misinformation. The congress govt ruined it, wasted multiple years in decision making and later junked the deal saying we do not have the money to buy 126 rafales. That money for 126 rafales is still a big liability so the govt doesn’t want to commit to the huge numbers and instead order in small batches. There are pros and cons to both approaches
India should have done so, because this quantity will enable India to build the bulk of the aircraft in India. After that (and the transfer of technology from France), India will be in a position to produce its own fighter aircraft to the same level, and even to create a joint fighter aircraft with France as part of a good partnership.
