I just LOVE the earlier Dy-Dee dolls. The Mach 1 face is the oldest. With the rubber body. Then they made a Mach 2 head a little bigger but looks the same. They put a cloth body and compo arms and legs on the bigger heads. Then...they went back to a rubber plastic with a completely different looking head and applied ears. I have 1 of each but I adore the one like yours !! Thank you for sharing. I am a new subscriber and avid doll collector. My most recent purchase is a Madame Hendren doll. They are lovely compo dolls and very unique. I also love Effanbee and Horsman dolls.

The last doll, you said they put the wig on her... its funny, i thought she looked like Shirley temple right away! So, youre probably right, it was to compete with other Shirley dolls.

All the dolls are adorable! I just got a vintage doll from a flea market, I believe it’s from the 60s because it looks old and is dirty. It’s dirty either because maybe it was played with by a child, or it’s just from age.

Hi loved your video and your finds were awesome. I went gaga over the clothes and dolls. Btw, fyi the chinese doll, if i am not mistaken its meant to represent an Emperor or a Royal Prince and is a very rare find indeed because they don't usually make Emperors and its still in good condition. Why i know its an Emperor, because his head dress is in gold and if you see the tiny green dot in the middle is supposed to be a jade piece, so only Emperors wore them to denote their status. Plus if you see his gown, there are mountains sewn on it, in the imperial court, emperors only can wear such motifs, lower orders like ministers or eunuchs can only wear certain embroidery. If i am not mistaken Emperors only can wear like dragon, Empress phoenix and so on. Below the mountains are the waves thats supposed to represent the sea. If anyone else dare wear them their head would be chopped off. Plus he is wearing a gold belt with gold ingots motifs on them. This is a very very rare doll and very well made with intricate details. If i were you i would put it in a glass case. Nobody can make it to that level of craftsmanship in this day and age. No way.

As far as finding dolls goes, it definitely helps that I live near the coast, where there are a lot of rich people. They tend to have good stuff!

The last doll - I have one with that exact same head mold but she is plastic. She is K&W Koenig Wernick Doll. She has a human hair brunette wig and had her original pigtails in. I love her expression. I LOVE composition dolls but the one I have is not comp.

Maureen, I am no good at cleaning old doll clothes. I just can never get them really clean. Not sure why, as I have no trouble doing my own laundry! The Dy Dee baby was sold very quickly, so I didn't get a chance to deal with it anyway. Thanks for watching!

Not all Rubber dolls collapse.Only when kids overplayed them and put them in water too much. Years ago I bought a Red hair Tiny tears with rubber body, cheap, and it was totally preserved. I could not believe it. It felt like plastic, vinyl, but, it was not. See my video on you tube," Madam Alexander Cissy Dolls Review .

thank you so much for reply, may I ask your opinion, I have 2 Louis Vuitton dolls that are rare , the clothes are made by Louis Vuitton in Paris, LV verified the dolls are authentic but can not give me a value, they asked me to let them know what the price is as they may be interested in purchasing, everyone I have asked has no idea price because so rare. I am wondering if you have any idea who I can ask, an auction house Skinners has not gotten back to me . any guidance is very much appreciated.

The only way to know what a doll is worth, is to look at what similar dolls have actually sold for. The problem with a rare doll is there may be few, or no examples to compare to. For valuing most dolls I look at sold examples on eBay, but I also subscribe to Worthpoint because their Worthopedia has search results that go back a lot further than you will find on eBay, and includes info from other sites in addition to eBay. I did take a look and there are some Louis Vuitton dolls on there, but apparently they costumed a variety of dolls, so you will have to compare them to your doll to see if they are similar. The regular subscription price is $19.99 a month, but I think they also have a free trial. Here is a link so you can check it out: www.worthpoint.com/partner/04073. Good luck with your dolls!

The dy dee Baby is so sad looking, all rotting and drying out, I’m surprised no company has made reproduction bodies that fit the original heads and pieces

That would be great! But, I don't think there's enough of a market to make it worthwhile.
