I went to cal from 2007-2011. Ate at all the dining commons. The new ones and the old ones like foothill. The quality of the food definitely looks like it has gone down and they’ve focused more on cheaper foods like salads and noodles etc. Back then we had Vietnamese pho. Chow fun. At foothill there was a food station where a guy stands there and you choose your items and he stir frys the spaghetti or pasta with mushrooms and meat etc. then afterward he lets you choose Alfredo or marinara sauce to put on it. There were burrito stations and unlimited guacamole. Sushi and cheesecake. As the cost of food goes up over time these dining halls I guess have to purchase less expensive items while maintaining a stable price for students.

Pretty sure that you can get that same canned chicken noodle soup at Costco. Glad to see Cafe 3 getting its love here. Y’all didn’t rate Clark Kerr pizza tho :(
HAHA this is very true. They didn't have pizza when we went to Clark Kerr sadly :(

do the dining halls serve the same food everyday?
nope, they rotate their main course, soups, and vegetarian options! what stays constant though is the salad bar and burgers though :D
I've eaten at that Clark Kerr dining hall once before. It was good!

Why is it rated so bad online? Do ppl just get tired of it? That looks delicious lol
honestly, I'm not sure! I liked the food while I was at Cal, I think people are just picky. It did get repetitive at times, but that's why they always have multiple options to choose from :)

No. 1 Public University in US, EPIC FAIL with the food service.... Lol
HAHA I mean it's debatable, some people like it some people don't :(
How about vegetarian entrees/main course- not as an afterthought and No salad is not a vegetarian meal!
yep, each dining hall (except Clark Kerr I think?) has vegetarian options on the side!
