    Whoever allowed him to perform without reviewing the script first was probably fired immediately. I'm just glad someone screwed up so this could happen.

    • @willvr4
      @willvr4 9 ปีที่แล้ว +96

      Knowing Colbert, he handed them a different script to "review" and then used a different one on stage. You could tell Bush was super uncomfortable, and they edited his reactions. When he leans in to talk to the guy next to him, and then shrugs it off...they used that exact same footage twice during the speech.

      +will Oh yeah...there are a few times when the graphic shows ABC News instead of C-SPAN. Whoever uploaded this made a few edits.

      He probably went off script or gave them a different script.

      At 6:15 he also roasts the entire press corp which arguably failed to do their job under Bush. That's why they don't like so much at that point.

      +BrickInTheWall82 Most Americans don't buy the narrative that Obama is an empty suit who does nothing. Because, in reality, what can he do? Congress won't let him get any of his agenda through. And when he issues executive orders, he's accused of usurping power from Congress. When he had majorities in both houses of Congress, he was accused of overreaching.
      Do they just expect him to sign every absurd poison-pill GOP bill that shows up on his desk?
