    Tip i picked up racing
Test how well you know the track when you are off the track or at home by simply closing your eyes and imagining yourself doing a lap of the track and time it, the closer your imagined time is to your real lap time the better you know the track.
If your times are off then compare sector times to narrow down which part of the track you don't have a good mental image of.
Having a good mental image of where you need to be on the track at every single moment allows your mental auto pilot to make fine adjustments without you having to consciously think about it and is one of the keys to consistency.

Very consistent, but also 🐢. It is intimidating to be one of the slowest and newest to the track, but I do study and ride tidier laps than most as a result. Hopefully, it will be like my dancing; I drill slowly until technically perfect and then speed comes naturally and effortlessly. Excellent advice, Coach...

Great advice as always. This reminder about consistency helped shave 1+ seconds off my lap times today. Thanks.

Another great vid, thank you. For me as a learning rider consistency is not just a matter of picking markers and vision. As I get more comfortable with a corner everything changes: approach speed, lean angle, exit point. Therefore all markers for this AND the next corner change too. Throw in a couple of slower riders (always in corners) and consistency is a challenge...

My consistency is improving little by little every day, where I suffer the most is when I let my mind wonder off of what I need to be focusing on. ( also a dangerous thing ) but if I start to get ahead of my self and think about the next corner than I start to fall back into old habits. but I am slowly working on focusing on one corner at a time, and working to improve entry speed, proper body position, and exit speed. But I always telly myself at the end of the day to keep pushing forward and always improve in the areas you know you need to improve so they will tie in smoother to what i am already doing well to make the transitions that much smoother, and easier.

It's all about the stop watch for me it's always been about beating my self doing it better and faster then before. I don't mind other people being faster as long as I feel I'm improving and it's showing on the clock I'm happy.

The lap time definitely matters, Matt, but when that's your only focus the quality of your riding can suffer.

Heya Dan, thanks for another great video! Is there any chance of doing some track specific run downs in future? Next year I begin racing with Thundersport and in doing research on the tracks I am struggling to find decent videos on them. I can only seem to find either BSB riders doing a lap or 8 year old shakey clips. I know its a lil away from your riding specific training but for me there is definitely an interest on seeing how you would handle certain tracks, from their corners, gears to take them in, maybe even characteristics like bumps and holes. Keep up the good work buddy!

I've been thinking about this all week..
I'm able to be consistent but not at a increased pace..
I'll find the marker for braking but always end up braking before even though I know I can brake later, and I've been racking my brain trying to work out how I can consistently brake at that marker

@@dww527 that's with everyone. Even stoner and Marquez needed a clear track in front of them to put in consistent laps. You can't do that when people are dive bombing you no matter who you are. So it not just lorenzo that needs a clear track, it applies to everyone.
