I personally love the University builds because they perfectly encapsulate the quintessential American college town! Plus the exteriors and layouts are pretty realistic, which is my preferred playstyle

I feel like the builds using ugly green colors actually makes sense, because of a lot of American universities having old green furniture in common areas for some reason.

This is my all time favourite world in The Sims 3. It’s very pretty, realistic and “cohesive”, if that makes any sense. The fact that they’ve used only one type of tree and the same style for the houses throughout the whole world just makes it more pleasing to the eye imo. Also, the colours are brighter than some other worlds
sims 3 university is my all time favorite expansion pack! i just love all the sims you encounter i think you can see their personalities expressed in many ways: clothing, hair, majors, social groups, etc. but the mansions i just dont like them (exept for the sorority), mainly the mixed ones, i just think the rooms lack that personality that the sims have
thats okay... i agree though, the sorority was the only build i really liked I think the sims being categorized into 'types' of students makes it easier, and also more realistic.. in university everyone is just trying to fit in or stand out haha

I’m not a cc fan at all. I just put in mods to help the game perform and run better for the most part. Sometimes I’ll add a default skin or something but nothing alpha
It’s currently 4:30 am here in Europe and I just spent the night writing a paper for uni (started yesterday, it’s due today haha). And then I see your video - on the Sims University lol 😂 thank you I will enjoy it 🫶🏻
Nicest thing about the university is that you can sell the dorms. And no i dont mean the land and property. I'm talking of selling wall and roof off dorms. Other sims being mean to my sims and being annoying sharing the kitchen ? No problem take the microwave and stove to your room, and lock it. I ended my sims uni with 3 deaths, 300k and everyone end up looking like flood victims stranded outside beside my sims in their room lol.
So many of these houses/dorms don't have showers (Commuter Comforts is one of them for example) - considering it's multiple students living them. How are they supposed to quickly get ready in the morning when there are only baths? I remember I had to buy a shower for a dorm my sim was living in because of this issue. But for some houses, this wouldn't fix the issue either because it's like one bathroom per 4 people on a floor
we had a 9-story dormitory with a shower room in the basement. there were only 5 working showers for girls, so we went to shower more often in the evenings, standing in line, and in the morning we only brushed our teeth in half-bathroom
My goodness I am late, but another great review! These houses remind me a lot of the ones in Moonlight Falls, but are definitely more standard suburban in their design. I recognized a lot of neoclassical combined with colonial style (these houses are popular in New England where I was born and raised).
Colonial is not popular where I am from, but neoclassical for sure. My friend growing up lived in a neoclassical mansion, we had so much fun in it, but my goodness it’s not the prettiest haha
@@Rekowcski Ah that's so cool! For colonials, the vinyl sliding is quite common like the ones in this video. I think it was just more cost-effective, not to mention the plastic/vinyl material is probably better at not being rotted away by years upon years of both rain and heavy snow.
I don't send my sims to university much, but I love to use the build/buy items for teen bedrooms. Also, are you going to continue the Not So Berry Challenge?
I still agree with the people that say the dorms just don't make sense, the rooms are too big and the houses have too much fun stuff to do in them, should only be one tiny communal fun area on each floor and stuff just idk feels too luxurious and the rooms aren't enough the same size and all of that just don't feel like dorms
That mention of your straight, conservative roommate 😂 I feel like with some of these they went for a poor, college student dumpster diving or thrift shopping vibe with the furniture. And for the walls and floors they went for a we remodeled, but only where we felt we absolutely had to vibe.
my problem with university is that I'm not american and know basically nothing about their uni or uni-culture. The sims was already pretty Americanised in the first place and I dislike their culture and uni life makes it worse, luckily nraas can fix all your problems 😌
I dont think I have ever played in a university lot other than the mixed gender dorm, and most of the time I commandeer the same room usually I have my sims going to uni with their friends/partners/siblings and don't have a single sex group
I like the University builds....haven't heard what you professional judgement is yet. They are above average (for EA). I don't like university life, because I feel like I must play it because it gives new families a huge boost.....but it feels like a grind needing to to very specific things to achieve set goals.

i think she is the only simmer that everyone knows her style and build process, so i can reference it... but you're right, i don't watch anyone else build (in sims 4)
kind of tired of the dogging on windows. a lot of the homes seem realistic for unattached home builds. and rooms need windows, the sunlight is beautiful with the right lighting mod, and sims 3 is darker anyway. the windows chosen sometimes aren't the right style of window, given. but light from windows make my sims look so pretty and happy. and i love sunrooms in front & back of homes.
"Sims 2 cheating tree" LOL, actually it's the same item of "No Fuss Ficus" tree from Sims 2. (No it's not the same as the money tree) The foundations are all double height and I appreciate the "farmhouse" vibes in most houses. Very few "Neo colonial" other than the sorority which is surprising.
imagine a series where someone gives you ten random builds and you have to rate each one, one by one, but the catch is you cant reuse a number rating, so if a house is 10, and theres a house after it thats better then it has to be a 9 since you used up your 10 :)
I need something like that but in the sims 2, because I'm to getting to angry waiting for loading every house, when I don't know where to move my sims 🥲
