Like even here, you can tell that Richard knew all the things that had been upsetting Jared at Pied Piper, but did nothing about it until Richard needed him again. It's never about actual loyalty (Except in tiny bursts). For Richard, it's about getting what he wants.

A take on Jared's character that I really liked was that he is basically the human version of a dog, he's incredibly loyal, loving and protective of whoever he works for or who could be "his owner", hence why he goes ape shit when someone attacks or disrespects Richard trying to defend him like a dog would, the main objective of his character is to protect people who can't protect themselves like Richard against Gavin Belson in season 1, which is why when Richard became a successful and independent CEO he felt like he wasn't needed anymore so he chose to stay with someone that could depend on him

I love the fact that when Jared gets mad it's justified. He's thoughtful even in what he allows himself to get angry about and this really paints a character who overcame hardship through maintaining self control and hope in humanity. When he gets mad It's always over values, but when it happens it's intense. He's the most sane insane guy, and that makes him so relatable and real. Every weird thing about him just makes perfect psychological sense. The writers of this show are brilliant.

"I oughta knock your teeth out, you bitch-made motherfucker!" Jared sounded legitimately menacing.
Richard had that coming - Jared was the most compassionate and supportive person in his life. Yet how many times have we seen Richard treat Jared like he was a disposable nuisance? I just wish Jared had done it sooner.
And well done to the writers of Silicon Valley, who spent six seasons alluding to Jared's terrible childhood for it to culminate in this scene. Jared will forever be my favorite character from this show.

As hilarious and over-the-top as the satire gets, it really seems at times to be well grounded in the challenges and relationship dynamics that real business face. People, people you rent money from, people who must work together but don’t really like each other, competition, technical glitches, business ethics. It’s always 3 steps forward and 2 steps back.
