I've had my cooler for YEARS. I just kind of accepted the rainbow thing it does. 5 minutes. 2 videos, and you've solved it. I appreciate it!

I did not even know that you could change the colors to this until I purchased an enclose water cooler set up and noticed the plugs that were covered up with the rubber plugs. I did not like the water cooler so went back to this and purchased the cables from Ebay for $15.

Thanks! I had a good old Antec 902 for so lon. I never Used the RGB connectors, I just let the prism cooler do it's own thing ( if your plug only the power the rgb just cycles through it's own color pattern, It does look cool, but you have no control). I bought a CM H500 , with 3 200mm Fans with RGB and could not figure out how to use those cable. I thought both were needed. You save me so debugging!

Well amazing! I saw these cables and for some reason, ignored them. As for the sockets on the cooler, I thought thought they were just impressions in the plastic and ignored them too! Oh well time to connect up the USB cable then and download the software. It's a shame I can't control it with the NZXT Cam software for my H510i RGB case. But having two pieces of software isn't too much of an issue. As long as the two RGB devices both connected to USB2 headers doesn't have issues.

Thank God I hoard my tech boxes lmao. I never used the stock cooler for my 3700x, and have recently decided to repurpose the fan off the cooler as a dram fan. I thought I was screwed and would have to disable the leds which was mainly what I wanted it for (it does also move a LOT of air) but realized I had the box in my box of boxes, and lo and behold the wires were still right in the bottom untouched 😂

Other important TLDR: Don't use both. If I didn't see that mentioned specifically in the manual or hear it here, I would have seen that the ring stayed red, assumed there were different zones, and very likely have thought I could probably use one to control the blade lights and another to control the ring.
