2021 and I still miss going to his concerts. I made it to 17 of them...all over the USA. Flying was cheap and I was a single woman who loved his music since 1972. I still carry his music with me in my truck to listen to daily. 35 years of awesomness!
I never go on a long trip without Dan going with me, especially when traveling into the mountains of Tennesse and Virginia. He always made life more tolerable for me.
Gone but not forgotten. I just went up to Peoria, Illinois yesterday to see his memorial. I also stopped by his high school and the convenience store where he met his high school sweetheart on December 24, 1975 which inspired his song "Same Old Lang Syne."
I started to love Dan Fogelberg when I was 12 years old. It was right after Dan died and, not long after I started listening to his music, I believe he gave me more passion and experience for my life in Colorado! I loved him all my life even to today! God bless him!!
PS. I felt that Dan has been a great influence to my talent with the piano. It seems like he and I have the same thing in common, because I'm gifted and love living in Colorado!
You're dang right his music will live on. And there's plenty of it to which i'm thankful for. No one has ever made me say I like their music more than Dan's. And they never will!!!
My husband, Bob, has prostate cancer. He has had it for years, and thank God, it just sits there. His PSA goes up to about 10 or 12, when he is severely stressed out......like when our house burned down 2 years ago and our little Chihuahua died. Even the cancer isn't as bad as losing his dog. But he monitors himself very closely because his mother's side of the family is loaded with cancer....she had it and survived and his sister didn't. But don't get stressed out......that PSA will shoot up like a rocket, and if it doesn't come down by it itself.....GET it down! Oh, and when I said losing his dog wasn't as bad as his cancer, I should have said that she helped keep his PSA down to about 5 or 6. So guys, get a dog, stay calm, and live your life! RIP Dan. If every man and every woman took 400 micrograms of a dirt-cheap but critical trace element - selenium - the incidence of prostrate and breast cancer would be slashed in half worldwide. That's what most doctors don't know, and even if they did, won't tell you.
My condolences. Cancer is the only thing that they treat pain for now. I should know I'm Chronic pain patient long term and for 7 years the government has taken away our pills. Hanging by a thread. Not you concern people because most people won't die of cancer or in their sleep. It will be a slow torturous Time until you can't take it anymore.
As someone who has been battling prostate cancer for the last nineteen years , I fully echo Dan's entreaties -- For God's sake, guys, get regular checkups! And, Gals -- hassle your fella to get the checks, for your sake, as well as his. My wife went through Hell, because she was unable to do anything for me -- her support was all I needed, but, she felt inadequate. A PSA check is nothing more than a blood test. The thought of a digital check may very well be offputting, but, consider which is worse -- a finger up your bum, or, almost certain death. FWIW, mine is now starting to flare up, I am facing a 'rest-of-life' quarterly injections until I die, this will buy me Time - how long, is in the Lap of the Gods. Take care of your health, guys, then you can live like Dr Spock, and "live long and prosper".
Take 1,500 micrograms of selenium as sodium selenite and Se-methylselenocysteine daily, and your cancer will go into remission. Covid will run for its life too.
